Personally, I don't believe this.
Please explain why they would do this?
Example: They have a suite that hasn't been booked. For a couple to book that suite, it would cost say $6000. If it doesn't get booked, they give it to someone who places a Royal Up bid for a much lower amount. That obviously makes sense for cabins that don't sell, as RC at least gets a bit more money from the Royal Up bid.
What you're saying is that they are intentionally not selling cabins just so they can use them for Royal Up... i.e. they are intentionally reducing the amount they can make for those cabins. You also need to think that there is always the possibility that nobody places a Royal Up bid for the unsold cabin, and they either sail with it empty, or upgrade someone for free.
This makes zero sense, hence why I don't believe it happens.
The reason they still offer Royal Up on sold out cruises will be to cover last minute cancellations. If someone cancels and they can't resell the cabin, they can at least get a few dollars more out of another passenger through Royal Up.
This is just what the representative from royal has told me and I am relaying the information! I do not know the logic behind it / if it’s 100% true! Take it with a grain of salt if you will !

I put a fat bid on a Royal Suite for our Oasis Sailing, currently in a Crown Loft Suite. In the last two days, it now shows that ALL the suites are sold out (prior to this, the Royal Suite was showing available). So, a las, I believe my hopes to be dashed, but I get to keep my bid dollars for another sailing.
According to a booking agent from royal, if the room is showing sold out they still have separate rooms on hold for royal up bids! So not all hope is lost!

Hi all, I just got notified 3 days before my sailing on Mariner that my upgrade bid has been accepted!
I booked an interior stateroom for me and my fiancée and placed a bid for 135 a person.
That bid was accepted and now we are in a balcony room!!
That was also a “weak” bid on their bid meter!

Quick question, can you use the Royal Caribbean App on the ship without purchasing the WiFi package?

I purchased the all day CoCoCay water park pass for 59 dollars a person last week! The next day on a Monday it went up to 131 per person! I got lucky!

Hi I am sailing on Mariner out of Port Canaveral next month. If my boarding time says 1pm is that a suggested time? If I show up at 11 will I have to sit in the terminal for 2 hours?
-
Does anyone know if WoW bands are now being used in the new Mariner of the Seas?
-
The snorkel safari was incredible!

What is the best way to get to the Cruise port from the air port and vise versa? Is Uber the way to go here?
-
Yes we will def be carrying off our own luggage!
-
Thanks Matt! Yes, the ship docks at 7am in port Canaveral and I have a 10:40am flight from Orlando.
-
If my cruise docks at 7am what is an estimate of how soon I can get off?
-
You just need to show up when the activity is open no pre work/sign up required.
-
Good call !

You don’t need to sign up in advance for pretty much anything on Mariner, not even the shows in the theater!

You should review the list of benefits, analyze the price, and decide if you feel the benefits are worth the price. The price is per person per day so I suggest you add it to your cart and see what the total is. Many people who are already looking to get an internet package sometimes find it's worth it to just go ahead and get the key....other's do not. I think it also depends on the ship you are going on, number of days, etc. What can be challenging is that sometimes (not always) the times for the activities such as Flow rider for the Key is right before a meal time or during a meal time. On some ships with some shows, reserved seats for the Key can be necessary if you do not want to go at least 30 minutes ahead of time whereas other times you can go up to the last minute and find a great spot. My husband have never found the Key to be worth spending money on but every cruiser is different.
You make a great point, if you are going to purchase the internet package and the key program only cost a few more dollars then go for it!

I didn’t know they had free snorkeling! That’s great!

Has anyone purchased The Key Program, and if so is it worth it?!

Being on a cruise for Independence Day is always so much fun! That week will typically be more expensive but worth it!

I have an upcoming escape room booked on Mariner for a price of 19.99 USD

Any recommended activities to do at Perfect Day CoCoCay?!

If these are connecting balcony rooms be sure to ask the stewardess if they can open the dividing door on the balcony as well! One of the best things you can ask for!
Transportation Options From FCO (Rome Airport) to Civitavecchia (Cruise Port)
in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Posted
Hi All,
My wife and I are going on the Wonder of the Seas Thursday June 23rd and are wondering what the best option is to get from FCO airport to Civitavecchia Cruise port. We were looking online and found some private cars for 95 dollars a person or a taxi for 160 euros.
Any services or websites anyone recommends us to book from would be really helpful!
Thank you!!
