  1. I saw a table of twelve on Freedom in April. I think it might be the max they can stretch, and it was because there were children. I think if only adults they let it go at 10.
  2. They will mostly likely give you soda from bottles or the gun. Getting cans are rare.
  3. I was on Freedom in April, I found the MDR to be miles better than on other ships and I say this as someone who isn't a fan. I agree the food is high school cafeteria, budget buffet. Unfortunately, it has to be this way to appeal to the thousands of different palettes it is catering to. Your idea of all dining being specialty is not conducive to the design of cruising. The MDR is set up to feed thousands of people while the specialty restaurants can only serve a hundred or less.
  4. As for recommendations, the polenta/calamari app is great, so is the meatball Gigante. The steak and chicken Fettuccini entrees are excellent.
  5. We did Giovanni's Kitchen, the table version is different, on Odyssey and order pretty much everything and repeats of items for our party of 6. No issues other than the mushroom pizza being garbage and bland. I want to chime in and say if you are on a MED sailing the food will taste different. I sailed Odyssey on her first trip back to the states and found everything to be a miss in terms of food because the ingredients were different. I did Giovanni's Kitchen on Freedom, and everything was amazing, but that was probably because of the ingredients.
  6. I believe as far as 2018/2019 they allowed you to check-in for flights. That's when the library had books.
  7. Royal considers themselves a family line, which means that Vegas can't really be compared because it is not a family destination in the broader sense. But I get what you mean. I think I am talking a broader approach, which is the benchmark that Liberty often uses. I also think he is middling, like the average cost of a balcony on Oasis class. Versus the average cost of going to an attraction that isn't quite Disney and also possibly a resort. But also, the aspect of value is a very subjective thing. I couldn't fathom paying $70k for a suite on Icon or even $5k for a suite on a ship like Grandeur. I place my value on certain things.
  8. I feel like the possibilities of charges for garbage services and offerings is the proverbial straw. You have a former CFO who is now the CEO being transparent with his money thoughts. He feels like the value of cruises aren't on par with land based vacations and it wasn't but now it's also not. You can now find wonderful land based vacations for less than a cruise. I am D+ but I have gone from having 5+ cruises a year booked to 2 because the value has decreased for me. I wasn't a MDR/WJ or Sorrento's pizza eater before all the changes. But with decrease value in the UDP and possible changes. I will have to rethink my booking habits. Also the newest ships aren't geared towards a single 40ish woman and the oldest ships are too old. I might transition to Celebrity, which is under Royals umbrella but a different beast.
  9. @RCIfan1912 and @CanHardlyWait Let me just say I was in no way trying to silence anyone or be a Royal apologist. I was simply saying to not take anything out on the employees for "possible" changes. I am all for standing up for right or wrong. I too agree it's a slippery slope, it's the main reason that I no longer book suites. Prices go up but value has gone way down. I feel like Royal will make changes and the only way for them to learn is from a monetary standpoint, which is convoluted, because newbies are skewing the results. I don't eat at Sorrento's because I am from Chicago where we have amazing pizza and that pizza is cardboard, so any changes won't affect me. I also don't agree with the idea you spent "thousands of dollars what's a few dollars more?" because people often save hard for vacations. I guess I just never thought a potential question on a survey would be so polarizing, given that it was pretty much a data mining one at that.
  10. OP said he was pissed enough to contact someone, pissed is a strong reaction.
  11. While this is true, that they can contact them for any reason. OP wants to complain about something not officially on the books, so it would essentially be reaming someone for something that hasn't happened.
  12. My BFF mom barely does 600pts and consistently gets offers from Royal. While I as prime get bupkis.
  13. I love Freedom but she doesn't have as much as an Oasis class. However I think you can still enjoy the ice shows and production shows without them feeling too dated. Now I have to say I gamble so my experience is a bit tainted because it's mostly spent in the casino and Playmakers.
  14. Since it's just an idea, on a survey. I don't think you can contact anyone about a hypothetical idea.
  15. The post is about Icon. A suite for $15k pp is insane but even on older ships the suite prices are rough. I saw that it was $2600pp for a GS on mariner, that's not worth it. Royal has priced themselves out of being a budget friendly line. The problem is people are fine paying it. They couldn't charge $7k for an interior on Icon and $70k for suites unless someone is paying it. It's not rich people but the middle class splurging because of Yolo.
  16. Be careful in what is included. Sometimes they quote you a price before taxes, fees and gratuities. Which your TA probably includes. Also some time they have group rates with a lot of fine print.
  17. I believe 8500 is a panoramic ov, so it's only one room.
  18. Oooh just a couple of months until I have that bread. I'm doing 150CP twice for the bread and cheesecake. Also @CrimsonCruiser I love the braids, mine are always purple, and people love them as well.
  19. I echo the idea of tipping what you want and can afford. Even if it's just a dollar or two, the crew appreciate it. I recall being on a sailing, I believe Harmony in Sept 2022, where not only were people not tipping they were removing the daily gratuity. I was solo, so I often talk to crew in certain areas. Many would thank me for my tips and chat me up. However if you look at roll calls, Facebook or other sites. People are saying they tip $50,$100 a day. There is no average, just what you can afford.
  20. I was so excited to sail on my first diamond cruise, sadly it was literally right after my first star class cruise and I was suffering from star class withdrawal. I'm on Allure in Oct as my first D+ cruise. I am looking forward to all my perks. I will say that because I was prime while also being Diamond, I never used all my vouchers. Even if I paid them forward, I have probably used all of them once in almost 8 sailings. I decided from here on out no more soda or refreshment package, so I can use them up.
  21. New ships are at new ship prices. Icon currently has interiors for $2k pp so...........also people are paying $50k for suites on Wonder. I doubt you will find any kind of deal on suites for Icon any time soon.
  22. So on Voyager class ships like Mariner you will only have two outlets and 1 European kind and will not be able to unplug anything that's not a coffee maker. Best bet is to get a multi plug adapter that is not a surge protector or extension cord.
  23. That was valentine's. It's different for Christmas and new years.
