  1. Welcome to the boards, if you had read the entire post then you would have known only sailing over 7 nights from the USA gets a lobster night.
  2. Okay so if I am correct, you are pay $16/day each of internet if you buy through cruise planner now. Internet on board is $29.99, you each get a day so paying 2 days at the rate for 2 devices is 119.96, but I believe it's a 10% discount if you do the two devices, so that's like $108. I think you might be better off getting it beforehand.
  3. The embarkation lunch was only on mariner. Hadn't heard of it on any of the other ships.
  4. I would say it depends on your cruise length. If it is 5 nights or more using the diamond day isn't really worth it. But if is like 4 nights or less it will come out a little cheaper than purchasing beforehand. I also want to point out if you are prime in the casino they offer a 30% discount. So I was using my diamond day and then getting my prime discount. My cruise in April was the last as diamond and I paid $50 to have internet for 4nights. Also keep in mind it's based on onboard prices which are 29.99 a day.
  5. I always get those emails about " loyalty has its perks" since I turned diamond. The crazy emails are the ones thar say your name and stuff. I'm looking for some casino comps for itineraries out of Canada/Boston/NJ.
  6. I would love a midnight buffet . I know a lot of people who I travel with would as well.
  7. I would say try the lunches as well. The Flatbreads and sticky ribs are worth a trip. Also the French toast.
  8. They are pretty much the only ones that do that. You can get lots of apps and sides but just one entree.
  9. They have a pretty high retention rate actually. If they didn't have repeat guest, the loyalty program would be a fail.
  10. You can order as much as you want in the MDR. Chops will be one entree and Jamie's will be as much as you want.
  11. I sailed a lot during the restart so I had about 12 visits to PDCC before I was over it . I agree it's clean and if I am on a ship without El Loco Fresh, I get off for tacos and a chicken sandwich. But now I'm like ugh I can relax in the solarium, my balcony or the casino instead.
  12. I just want to say, hopefully this works on all ships. Grandeur was doing bogo for diamond members, so rules seem to differ on smaller ships. I was planning on using my bogo on the smaller ships in Jan. I will book my one in CP then the other onboard.
  13. I just checked and it list regular interiors but when you go to book it only gives an option for VBs. So maybe all the interiors are VB, which is quite random and cool I guess.
  14. I don't have children, but I noticed this when Izumi went up around May I believe.
  15. I have booked Up, Up.... five times and it was cancelled every time due to weather. The one time I didn't book it, it actually went up. But then so has the cost, so I stopped finding the value in it. So hopefully they turn that area into something consistent. I see no value in purchasing anything on PDCC, in fact my last two cruises I didn't even get off. All three of my cruises in Jan 2024 go to PDCC. I don't plan on getting off as that is an open casino day. I did the Beach club and OTW cabana once and it was a mediocre experience. I dislike the food immensely and while the OTW cabana was nice, it isn't worth more than $600-800 imho. I am not a beach person so paying for the private adults-only area isn't for me. But it works for people who would normally do all-inclusive at other ports. To each their own.
  16. No. There are a limited number of virtual balconies, and they are a different category, hence the price difference. Regular interiors will be more plentiful and exist as is. Do not take stock photos as proof of anything over the descriptions.
  17. I think they start at $25 per card but there are bundles. I would say an average of $50pp.
  18. No a golden birthday is the date of your birthday being the same as your age. So, a person who was born on the 10th, turning ten. In my case I was born on the 21st, so my 21st birthday was my golden birthday. My brother's golden birthday was when he turned 27.
  19. I personally think both are great choices. But for a 4N I would save my money and do Freedom. I personally feel like I need the 7n on a larger ship because they is so much to see and do. Freedom would be great for a 4N because there is a lot to do but not so much that you will feel like missed out.
  20. That's why I said I can't. OP supposedly has been on enough cruises to know they should get and check their folio but complains they had to dispute the charges shoreside. Like......I don't get it.
  21. I was definitely one of the people who thought it was just data mining. I posted that people shouldn’t increase their stress levels. I figured it was just a litmus test. I think that at some point a lot of the higher tier return cruisers will jump ship. I understand business and I don't fault Royal for any charges good or bad, just like they can’t fault me or others who chose to spend our dollars elsewhere. I was pretty upset that as a person who consistently makes prime and spends money in their casino, I receive no comp offers. While my friend who sails once a year with me and barely make 600pts, gets two-three offers a month. I was so upset, I booked less cruises. Do they care, no. Because the new cruisers is worth more money to them. Their approach to cruising is working, most people would rather buy what they want and not bundle anything or subsidized someone else vacation. There is always someone will to pay for convenience, that's the basis of the suite life.
  22. The beer, wine, etc is 11-11, the lounge should be open 24hrs. Happy hour is 5/5:30-8ish and then you can get cocktails. You will be able to get bottle water and coke in the SL without issue.
  23. Not Matt but in regards to Royal, USD is preferred regardless of where the ship is sailing out of.
  24. I love me an aft cabin. I also think anytime there is more than 3 people a second bathroom is needed.......especially if the 3rd or 4th person is a woman/teenager. I didn't think it was strange as the 1br AS is sky class too, but meh. I wasn't going to bid on that one, because I worried about the noise.
  25. I think the issue was that a lot of the people who was the primary cruisers on Royal, weren't interested in eating late. So having midnight buffets and other options weren't anything but wasted food. That was what room service was for and those who really wanted it, have to pay. Now there is a more diverse subset of cruisers who eat at all times and the current way no longer works. Carnival has always attracted more partiers and families on budgets, so their dining options have continued to reflect that. Now everyone is cruising and thus the new ships will probably have more late-night offerings.
