Usually the only nuts at the Schooner Bar are my friends and I singing along with the piano player, LOL! 🤣🎼🎶🎵

we learned years ago to bring some nuts, pretzels and chips(pringles) as on our first cruise, these kind of snacks cost extra at the store. we bring them as when we sit on the pool deck and play cards we have a few munchies and get our salt & sweet. We don't fly so the weight is not an issue.

We were on Liberty last week.  Screen not fixed, not likely to be fixed.  We were on Liberty exactly 2 years before (2nd to last cruise before Covid).  I'm putting together a doc on our trip.  I can tell you we had many similar issues onboard.  Same ship, but it really wasn't the same ship.  We had a really good time, but carp, some of this should have been fixed by now.  WiFi was terrible. Even for the crew.  Cards wouldn't scan "can I have your cabin number?".   We had the drink package, but I bet almost half of our drinks never hit our folio. Yesterday morning, their systems kept going down for disembarking in Galveston.  It took us almost an hour, and we had the "Key".  Others reported it took over 2 hours to get off the ship.  Ship needs a good refurbishment.

Ouch🤔 we are scheduled for a B2B in Sep this year and taking our son's family with us on the 2nd week. Last time we were on the Liberty was in 2015, we were hoping to have an enjoyable cruise. if you get a chance please let me know when you get done with the doc, Thanks  Have a good evening

Now I'm paranoid.  I uploaded our vaccine cards on the app for boarding pass and now cannot find them.  However in Louisiana, we have a Smart Health Card, a digital record of the vaccination under the LA Wallet app.  Does anyone know if this will work?

no worries, just take everything with you as we uploaded but still had to show proof during the boarding process.

You are on point.  Our first two shots were documented with stickers that included all pertinent information.  My wife (nurse) tells me the lot number is important if severe adverse effects are reported for the vaccine -- they need to track down who else might be affected.

Now for our booster shots, we have handwritten information (no sticker), including lot #, etc.

Our Feb cruise was cancelled by Royal, so I have no idea what we will experience at Port Canaveral in June, but obviously there is significant variation in how cards are completed.

Ours was handwritten for all 3 shots, wife phizer at major hospital, husband Moderna county health dept. We had no issues getting on board for our first cruise and the next 3 consecutive cruises when we had to get off and on to repeat the process.

I'd think a judge would side with the customer in this case considering the totality of the circumstances. The initial electronic submittal of vaccination proof was approved by the cruise line and the documentation they had met the requirements on the website. Pretty straightforward to me. Royal needed to either have proper info on the website or decline the initial doc submittal. Failed on both accounts. Pay the man.

agree to disagree, like I said hope for the best but expect the worst

Documentation requirements according to the guidelines listed on Royal's site were met. Check it out

I did here they are, but the legal beagles will probably hammer on the incomplete "CDC vaccination Record Card" and probably argue that the lot number is part of the required manufacture info as required on the card.

Not for us to decide, I hope the best for them, but after our dealings with RCL Hq I think if they get 100% refund on monies paid to RCL and their bags back would be a draw.

    "Acceptable Proof of Vaccination

In order to present proof of vaccination for our cruises, the guest must show eligible documentation on boarding day at the terminal in the form of the vaccination record issued by either (1) the country’s health authority that administered the vaccination (e.g., U.S. CDC's Vaccination Record Card) (2) electronic vaccination records where country policy requires the use of electronic documentation via app or health agency site (e.g. UK NHS App, NHS Certificate, Israel Green Pass, EU Digital COVID Certificate), or (3) a letter from the guest's medical provider that administered the vaccination, which meets the following criteria:

    • The Proof of Vaccination must include the name of the vaccinated person matching the registered cruise guest with date of birth (DoB), the dates of the completed vaccination cycle, the administering physical or medical services provider, and the manufacturer of the vaccine issued.
    • The full vaccination cycle must be completed at least 14 days before your sail date (e.g., received the second dose in a two-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna or a single dose of J&J).
    • The vaccine is recognized and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) and/or the World Health Organization (WHO)."

NOTE: Royal Caribbean will accept a laminated original vaccine card from your country’s health authority as acceptable proof of vaccination, providing it meets all the aforementioned criteria.

  7. I can understand the issues as we had a bad one in 2015 that , in our minds was not resolved properly and the TA CEO couldn't do anything when we were checking in. Unfortunately with the lot number not on the CDC Vax card, you have an invalid card as it has not been properly filled out out the time of getting the vaccine which I am sure will be the point made by RCL and point out that it was your responsibility to ensure you had a properly filled out CDC vax when vaccinated.

Sorry to hear that you did not have insurance, I know its an extra cost, but I was advised by a senior cruiser many years ago that its best to have for the monies you have outlaid for the vacation along with possible medical issues (accidents). Same logic has applied for years with car/home/life insurance.

Hope you get a refund and your baggage back

Ambiguous was the wrong word to use.  It was a wrong entry on my friend's vaccine card.   They marked the date of her vaccination as the vaccine's expiration date.  She came so close to being denied boarding but she pleaded her case with the port agents.

Out running back at my system. Thanks for the clarification just getting nervous, up early in morning to get tested have a fall back Scheduled for later in the day

Don’t worry too much about that. Just have your vaccine card with you when you check in at the port.

What you want to make sure of is that you do have the info on your card that you are fully vaccinated.  A friend of mine was almost denied boarding because of ambiguous information about the vaccines she got and the numbers on the card.

could you define ambiguous, as mine is all handwritten at drive thru vax site run by the county health department, has the basic info moderna, batch num, date and initials of the county health dept.

can't wait to get on board Monday

Do you have access to an Asian store?  Do you only want to bring food items from the Philippines?  I do so because I'm Filipino myself.

You just made my day as I have never had the chance to get to that part of the world. I was traveling today but saw the post this morning while driving. I am laying over to visit with some friends and get my tests on sat before departing to Tampa (8hr drive more or less). I have found a store called Asian Super Market, 5022 Vaughn Rd, Montgomery, AL 36116. It will open at 1100 CST on the 11th. I thought I would go armed with your pic and talk with the staff for recommendations, along with any list you send. Also, in Tampa, we will be staying out near the airport at our regular hotel and getting there by lunchtime the 16th. My route will be I-10 E to I-75 S, if you happen to have a recommendation of a good place to shop on the way or in Tampa. Thanks for your help and as always I also try to bring a few Texas magnets for the walls and I still may have a license plate, but last I heard that item has slowed down before the pandemic started.....

FYI since you have been on the Mariner & Freedom, we met 3 fine folks from the islands working at Boleros, Palo, JR & Emerson. We have not seen them in a few years, the last was in 2014 on the Freedom we caught up with JR working the sky bar and he allowed that Palo had moved on to an Oasis Class ship and he wasn't sure where Emerson was. The good news was that on our last trip on the Brilliance (Nov 2019) we ran into some crewmembers that live near these gentleman and were able to allow that they & families were doing fine and they were still working with RCL

Based on a tip from a crew member on the Jewel, I brought Filipino canned goods and snacks for the Filipino crew I’d meet on the Brilliance. They were so happy about it.

My stateroom cabinet looked like a pantry for a while ha ha

If you can send me an updated list, we board the Brilliance on the 17th Jan as we usually try to bring various extras for the crew. Will work of the pic you posted and see what we can find, but open to bring what ever we can squeeze in our bags, food, toiletries, etc. The crew on the Brilliance has always been good to us😃 thanks

There are a lot of qualify factors that may or may not be maintained during a lift & shift.  It depends.

twangster, We are getting ready to board the Brilliance OS starting on 17 Jan for 4 cruises in a row. These cruises were L&S and booked during the Double Crown & Anchor Points offer in 2020 along with other bookings this year.

Question: Have you heard what the policy will be on the extra points if we test positive during this 19N period or test positive on our test 2days prior?

If we test positive before we board we just want to keep the sailing on the Brilliance OS just move them to FEB-March time period
