I've always been able to see and click on the link for "View itineraries" for both my wife and myself.....until the last offer. I was able to see and click on it in my account but even though it says for "select sailings" there is no view itinerary option on my wife's account. What's more bizarre is that it was for 2 itineraries one on September 24 and the other October 1, 2023 and we just got the offer last week. Not really much time to plan for a cruise!

    Update

Of course right after my last post I went to check my wife's account and there now appears the link! At least her offers are for January 2024.

  3. We just got back from Odyssey on Monday and my youngest had a bout with gastro on that sailing. My wife went with him to the infirmary, he was given a shot and told to stay in his cabin until he had no more symptoms and handed some Imodium and then sent to his cabin. When asked what his brothers should do since they were in one cabin together, she was told to just have them wash their hands frequently and properly. Shockingly, he was the only one to have gastro and it lasted a little more than 24 hours. Unfortunately for him, he missed the excursion to the ruins of Ephesus and beach day in Mykonos the next day!

Last night on the YouTube stream, Matt recommended the Marriott AC Fort Lauderdale Airport hotel.  It has only been there about a year, so everything is new.

I switched from the Crown Plaza to the Marriott for our October trip.  It was a few dollars cheaper.  It also seemed to be within walking distance of more restaurants and stores.

Stayed there back in January, we enjoyed the hotel very much.

  5. Back in December I posted this in response to the same question.

We've been to Four Points Sheraton a couple of times pre-cruise. They have an airport shuttle and it's not far from the port too. They don't include breakfast but the rooms are decent size. Next week we'll be staying at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale in Dania Beach. It's more expensive but looks really nice. They also have an airport shuttle.

After having stayed at the Marriott I can confirm that it was very nice. First time staying in Dania Beach area and it was quite pleasant. Short Uber ride to port.

these features are not available on RC UK site!

However you can log in to UK site then switch to US site, this gives you access to these features allowing you to watch cruises and receive emails if price changes.

The same thing is happening with the RC Canadian site. That's why i never noticed this feature before.

I had actually booked that hotel....they were supposed to do an "authorization" on my card to verify etc, but it was a book now, pay later option.

They actually charged the card and was going to stay on for a whole year...it was  a nightmare dealing with them....and the booking company about it.

That’s exactly what happened to me! I told Expedia that they shouldn’t be promoting that hotel because it reflects badly on them and will harm their reputation. I never went back to check if it still appears on their website.

  8. My brother and his family stayed there in March. He wasn't impressed at said he wouldn't book there again and that it was very basic. Another hotel to stay away from is the Ivy Hotel. It looked nice in pictures and i originally booked it for my family for our March cruise through Expedia. At the time of booking, the website said that i would only be charged when i checked-in but the hotel had other ideas and charged my credit card that same night. We decided that we would go back to the Marriott Stelaris and so i cancelled the reservation at Ivy, which had free cancellation. It took me about 2 months to get my refund and only after many emails and phone calls with Expedia and the hotel. It finally got resolved when Expedia wrote me a letter to give to my credit card company to dispute the charge. Once they had that they reversed the charge.

  9. We stopped in Ephesus last year and, if I may recommend, don't just go to a local beach. The ruins at Ephesus are just spectacular to see and second to none anywhere in the world. It's really fascinating to see how a city was built a couple of thousand years ago with roads and even a plumbing system that you can see today. We did it as part of our Holy Land cruise and we also went to see the House of the Virgin Mary and St. John's Basilica.

  10. I'm probably late with this but last September we did the "Best of Santorini" tour. It was a great experience as part of our excursion was visiting the Akrotiri archeological site and our guide was an actual archeologist who helped work on various aspects of the site. Very informative! Of course we visited the famous part where we took pictures, went to a winery that overlooked the sea with more spectacular views and then went to an authentic Greek restaurant for lunch and some Greek dancing. An excellent excursion overall!

  11. My wife booked the wrong week for spring break. We realized a couple of weeks later when we were looking for hotels in San Juan and she casually mentions that my brother and his family will be in San Juan at the same time and maybe we could meet up for supper the night before both families depart on their separate cruises. This caused some bells to ring in my head as I knew we didn't have the same spring break. How can this happen you may ask, well the answer is when researching dates for spring break she saw the calendar for Concordia University in St. Paul instead of Concordia University in Montreal. Luckily we were still far enough out that we were able to make the necessary changes with RCCL and the airline.

Another time, I forgot my iPad in the airplane after disembarking and only realized a few days later on our way to Aruba. It was a sea day and figured i would check on some work emails but couldn't find my iPad. At first i was convinced that i left it at the hotel in Fort Lauderdale but checked find my device on my iPhone and it kept showing that it was at the Fort Lauderdale airport. Once we got back i checked with the Air Canada desk agents and sure enough they had it in the lost and found!

  12. This happened with our August 28, 2023 cruise on Odyssey. The options we were given were to 1) rebook with one of 3 different cruises they offered around that sail date plus a $100 OBC ($200 if suite), plus an additional $50 for a third person, and reimbursement for non-refundable pre-purchased transportation change fees up to $200 for domestic changes and $400 for international changes; 2) if we preferred to select any other sailing (other than the 3 offered in 1)) they would waive the change fee but we would be responsible for any fare difference plus the reimbursement of transportation fees as in 1) and 3) a full refund of any paid portion of the cruise including non-refundable deposits. There would be no other compensation offered with this option.

The Chef's Table is not included in the 3 Night Dining Package, but there is an option to take one of the 3 nights and go to the Chef's Table (instead of one of the Specialty Restaurants) for an extra $49.99 per person ... the regular rate fluctuates between $79.99 to over $100.  The main difficulty is that the Chef's Table can book up quickly and typically we want to spend a certain night there (Chef's Table is an investment in time ... it runs from 6:30PM until late).  Usually we can only fit the Chef's Table in on one or two of the nights on a 7 night cruise.

Therefore, we book both and "shuffle" to a cheaper rate ... instead of (in this case) going to Chops 3 times in one cruise.

I hope that makes more sense ...

The reason I'm confused is that in the "what's included" section of the 3 night dining plan it does say that Chef's Table is included but with an upcharge of $49.99. This is what happened with us on Odyssey last summer. We booked the 3 night dining plan and selected the Teppanyaki restaurant as one of our choices once onboard making all of our reservations. We were just charged the additional $15 fee in our onboard account after our supper there.
