seconding this; we went there and signed each time 💚 didn’t mind it, there were some times i forgot to bring my fives with me to tip the bartender and i was able to add on the receipt, which was helpful. 😊

Exactly, I'm not opposed and actually always add additional $1-2 tips to the receipt. But sorry guys, I'll not going to be carrying pocket full of singles with me on the cruise.

Finishing on Odyssey this week and my usual bartender at Schooner bar always gives me the one for fourth drink and let's me know it's last one.

    I understand,

But my point was without a paper receipt, there's no way to add the tip to the no charge drink. And he's not getting 18% either, since charge is zero!

I was on Anthem for the holiday cruise this past December, there was a crew member taking/selling specialty dinning in the esplanade on the first day. Walked right up and made my reservation for the beach club. Always better to do it asap.

    Interesting...

So he had a ipod or laptop with him?

I wonder when chops open up on the 1st day. Like it was suggested before.

    On the Anthem…..

The designated restaurant handling the Beach Club Restaurant reservations is Chops.

I go to the host desk as soon as it opens on embarkation day and make my reservation.

If I forget, I’ll get the letter delivered to my cabin on the first night or two advising me to call Chops to do it.

    Thanks for another confirmation.

That's what I've wanted to know.

Some people keep saying just go to the Beach Club, all schedule will be open and waiting for you. But last time I've went there. I've seen a lot of reservations already in their system, way before arrival.

    Thanks again.

We were there this past December while on Oasis and you could only make reservations at the Beach club. You had to get there early and do it in person.

    Thanks, if I may ask.

    When did you get there?

Was it a problem to get the time you've wanted? Or it didn't matter much for you?

To access the Beach Club, you have to pay for a day pass or pay for a cabana (which includes the day pass).  This can be done through the cruise planner before your cruise or at the Shore Excursion desk onboard.   The Beach Club sells out, so the earlier you book, the better.

If you’ve already booked the Beach Club for the day, then you make your reservation once you enter the area.

Thanks, got all of that done long ago. It's sold out already for many months. Especially that about 10000 will be on the island on my day.

But someone told me that you can actually make reservations for lunch there through the ship.

I'm pretty sure you actually make that reservation at the beach club when you arrive there. It's a large space so I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you book your pass there in the cruise planner.

No, I don't think so. It's counter sort of like a specialty restaurant. And when I went there last time. Most of early dining times were already reserved from the ship.

We are sailing on Quantum to Alaska this summer.

Just saw on the cruise planner tonight we can book iFly and North Star for a fee on our sea days.

Are either of those attractions offered for free at anytime or is the only way to do them to pay for a time slot?

    Thanks!

In what section do you see it for sale?

    How long till you cruise?

    I can't find it...

You won't know if do or don't until the end of embarkation day. I'm currently sitting at 2 for 2 with sailed sailings in which I've bid and won from an interior to something with a window and haven't bid too much more than the minimum. My bids aren't accepted until around 72 hours prior to sailing, however.

    That sounds strange...

Until embarkation day? That's not really possible...

You can't print luggage tags to your cabin, if you'll be getting different one.

All your documents, including SAIL PASS would be for wrong cabin?

Who wins is based on whichever bid chain nets Royal the most amount of money based on a black-box algorithm. They're not just looking at your bid, they're looking at how much people are willing to spend to move out of their cabin and into a higher category one (which might be yours).

As for why they're accepting bids on sold-out cabins is because people cancel or don't show up to the pier on embarkation day. If Royal doesn't feel like they can reasonably sell the cabin, before sailing, they'll have PlusGrade accept an offer to fill that cabin and make additional money from the bid chain that PlusGrade determines on the new vacant cabin.

All of I just bid the lowest allowed. I don't want to spend much more and other people bid much more than I am.

    It's almost guaranteed I won't get it

    Right?

  11. I've received email as well

So how it works, I mean who wins

    Person who bids higher price?

I've also checked how much is the suite they offering to bid for upgrade and or doesn't show any available.

So why they are giving all this options to bid if it's not available. For example Junior suite.

I actually took a 12 night cruise on Anthem out of Cape Liberty in late January 2022,  iFly was free for the first session and I booked it in advance through the cruise planner but missed my time frame however they let me reschedule onboard.  The first session is free, I think if you want to go a second time then you have to pay for iFly.

The Northstar is free only while in port I also booked that in advance through the cruise planner.

I'm assuming you're doing the Orlando, Nassau and Coco Cay 7 night cruise in the spring. I like all three of those ports I always find something to do either through the ship or on my own in Orlando and Nassau.  My only complaint about Orlando is Royal doesn't give passengers enough time while in port.  I wish the ship would arrive at Port Canaveral at 9 or 10 am instead of the current schedule which has the ship arriving in the afternoon.

Thanks, useful information. Yes, you're correct on the itinerary. Hopefully about 30-45 days away they will open reservations. Planing ahead of time is much easier, plus the shows. Then can pre-book dinners in MDR. Yes, Port Canaveral time is short. So not sure where to go to make it in time for some rest and dinner. In Nassau, already done dolphins and not a fan of bars or shops. And Royal excuursions doesn't really have other beach excursions. Except for blue lagoon, which basically has no water in lagoon to swim. Been there couple times, water always like up to my knees... 😂🤣

There is a spot to email a message for specific concerns.   On the big scheme of things on a vacations, honestly , if $19 bucks is going to break you, ........I dunno.

It's not about that... There's almost nothing to do on 2 port days, so why pay for it? And actually when you're over the ocean, you don't see or feel the heights of it at all. Been there before.

  14. 18 minutes ago, D Alt said:

They are both free on Port days.  Cost money on Sea days.

IMO the Northstar is worth the $19 on the sea day. Nothing like going in that thing over open water on a moving ship.

Trying to reserve a spot may be the difficult part if it is a packed cruise. I believe they come out by 7 pm each night for the next day or you can go to guest services and they can email the sports manager. I had to do this when they canceled my reservation on Day 1.

You can book the sea days one before your cruise.

So you're saying the free spots can't be reserved ahead of time for one of the port days?

Can only catch it in the evening for the next day? That doesn't make any sense
