  1. I’d love to see We Will Rock You come to an Oasis class ship. I’m with you on wishing they’d just get rid of Cats all together LOL
  2. One plus to booking excursions thru Royal is that if something goes wrong and the excursion is late, the ship will wait for you ....... with a 3rd party excursion, if something happens and you’re late, the ship will leave without you.
  3. We have a bid in to upgrade from our owner’s suite to a Star Loft or the Aquatheater Suite that’s in star class on our 9/14 Symphony cruise ....... but I’m not holding my breathe lol
  4. Glad to hear it all worked out for you guys! ?
  5. I know I’m being cynical, but I do wonder if those 5 comments praising NCL and saying the article was a lie were written by NCL employees
  6. https://www.newsweek.com/hurricane-dorian-strands-cruise-ship-passengers-new-orleans-everyones-been-starving-no-one-1457562 The above linked article from Newsweek says Norwegian left THOUSANDS of passengers stranded in New Orleans from BOTH the NCL Breakaway AND the NCL Sun ....... I’m not sure why the other article only mentions 200
  7. https://www.cruiselawnews.com/2018/01/articles/rough-weather/passengers-terrorized-norwegian-breakaway-sails-through-bomb-cyclone/ Norwegian had plenty of advance notice of the storm, in the above linked article it says: ”By this date, and as early as December 31, 2017, weather forecasters were unanimously predicting that a huge storm would form off the U.S.’s southeast coast and head north later in the week. But Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) stuck with its itinerary and subjected the passengers to several days of extreme winds and waves as the hurricane-strength storm pounded the cruise ship on January 3rd and 4th.”

  9. To me it seems like they made the decision that it would be cheaper for them to dump everybody off in the wrong port, than to extend their cruise for free and eventually take them back to where they started. I only cruised on NCL once in the 90’s but after seeing this ...... and then today also seeing videos of a ship they sent thru a bomb cyclone between the Bahamas and New York after being warned of the winter storm, and stranding a ship full of people in Barcelona they could have taken back to Rome this past July, I’d never sail on them again!
  10. I believe those were all the passengers who’s cars were in Miami. They helped the people who flew into Miami but left the people who drove in to fend for themselves when they dumped them off in New Orleans. I just don’t get whey they wouldn’t keep the ship at seas like Royal did and then bring the people back to their original port? I mean seriously ........ the ship STILL has to go back to Miami for its next cruise
  11. So many of the cruises I have booked are listing between $65 and $69 per day!!! That’s insane! $55 is my absolute max to consider it worth it.
  12. Has anyone done this excursion in Cozumel? Is it worth doing? Is the Waterpark nice? How are the included drinks and buffet? We’re on Symphony 9/14-21 and thinking of booking it.
  13. That’s just insane!!!!! I don’t get why they couldn’t just let everybody stay cruising on the ship until they could bring them back to the port in Miami?????? Like Royal Caribbean has done with their ships that were supposed to be back by now.
  14. https://www.kcra.com/article/disney-defends-decision-to-keep-workers-on-its-private-island-in-bahamas-during-dorian/28888018 Disney’s island was closer to Dorian than Cococay and Disney claims their island never got more than a few hours of tropical storm force winds and is just fine ........ so I’m guessing Cococay is also totally fine.
  15. I didn’t know that wasn’t allowed for a child. Every cruise I’ve been on, I’ve only showed my Sea Pass card with DBP and have ordered both an alcohol drink for myself and a “mocktail” for our 7 year old at the same time with just my card ........ they’ve always served me both drinks at the same time and never charged me for his or asked for another sea pass card and we’ve never bought a drink package for our son since he only drinks water otherwise. I just assumed when both parents in the room had a DBP, that they must let you get free drinks for your kids
  16. They will let you on and off the ship with just birth certificates ....... BUT if you miss the ship and are left in another country, you’ll have to go to the US Consulate there and prove who you are to get a passport before you can get a flight off wherever you are stranded.
  17. I’m 99% Sure I heard our local Orlando news say earlier that our airport is closing tonight at 6pm ...... unless I heard wrong and it was a different airport????
  18. Same with us, we also have Amex Platinum and are booked in suites on our cruises ...... all booked through a TA that is NOT Amex ....... every one of our currently booked 7 night cruises has a $300 OBC that our TA was able to add on thru Amex after the cruise deposit was paid as it immediately showed as an OBC on our updated statement. This alone made the Amex platinum yearly fee worth it for us, but it also comes with many other money saving benefits.
  19. What’s different about the Suite Lounge on Freedom? We’re in a suite on it next July.
  20. Since she’s in a Crown Loft Suite, isn’t she allowed to ask her concierge to make ALL her UDP specialty restaurant reservations when she receives the email from them a week before the cruise? We’ll be on our first cruise in a full suite in a few weeks and that is what I was told about reservations for UDP when you’re in a Grand Suite and above.
  21. When you do the UDP and then eat at Izumi, are you now restricted to the “prix-fixe” menu that’s listed in the cruise planner? Or is there still an “ala carte” menu with more items in Izumi once on board where you each get a $35 credit with the UDP like before? Specifically wondering about on Navigator. Thanks in advance.
  22. I was told by my travel agent that you just ask for extra key cards once on board.
  23. The storm is now supposed to hit the east coast of Florida, somewhere between Miami and Jacksonville..... most likely Canaveral area...... as at least a category 3 sometime in the very early morning hours on Monday ..... at around 2am or so
