  1. I spent a day at Iberostar Cozumel many years ago. I was staying at the Iberostar Tucan in Playa del Carmen, and they had exchange privileges. The beach and pool were very nice, and the staff was fantastic. The food was very good as well. It was significantly smaller than the resorts in Playa, but not at all crowded. Of course, it's been so long since I've been there that Wifi wasn't even a thing yet, so take this information with a grain of salt. Personally, based on all of the positive reviews from people I trust on this website, if I were to go back to Cozumel I'd probably go to Nachi, but I enjoyed my time at Iberostar, am a big fan of the Iberostar brand and have stayed at many of their properties.
  2. That's because you appear to be a rational human being capable of empathy and not a... Hmm. Gonna need one of @SpeedNoodles's cookies.
  3. That's because Kansas City isn't in Texas...
  4. Short answer: Respirometry tests (sort of). Long answer, a lot of conjecture and projection...
  5. I was afraid of the bottle breaking in my luggage, but that is an idea. Thank you. I'm glad to hear it has worked for others before. I've also used these with success: https://www.amazon.com/Jet-Bag-Mono-Protective-Absorbent/dp/B07CWWVM2C/ref=sr_1_16?crid=LJ6M604DBJ4J&keywords=wine+check+luggage+bag&qid=1578152872&sprefix=wine+bag+lu%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-16 It's basically a plastic zip bag with a big "diaper" inside. There are some more expensive options out there that are also very good (Wine Wings comes to mind), but for the price, these can't be beat, and I love the inclusion of the absorbent material just in case the worst happens.
  6. This is a realistic expectation, and probably where your cruise will fall. ?
  7. Excellent point. Also, my guess is that the crew members working their butts off to make sure that we have an amazing vacation might argue against the increase having "zero value."
  8. Looks like just Navigator & Oasis. Mariner & Grandeur are scheduled for July 1st.
  9. According to CruiseMapper, only Majesty & Oasis will be in Coco Cay on the 3rd, with Navigator & Independence in on the 4th.
  10. You can also use them as a discount towards your cruise purchase price if you don't think you'll use all of your available points in OBC. They're available in increments of $150 (15,000 points). You'll save on the bottom line and be able to purchase the drink package at a more favorable rate. Same concept as @Ogilthorpe's idea, just a slightly different method.
  11. Main Dining Room. Welcome to the boards! You'll catch on to the lingo pretty quickly, and don't be afraid to keep asking if you don't. They're a friendly bunch over here! ?
  12. Hmm, is Big Brother listening? Logged into Cruise Planner today to find:
  13. Thanks for the video and the pic, @Melodyjn! Very helpful! Having the crew actually bring some of the sea life on board is pretty cool. The biggest body of water either of my boys have been on is Lake George, so I suspect that this will be a hit! Out of curiosity, were there lockers near the pier where the trip departs from? We're doing the 1st tour of the day, so I'd like to avoid having to walk back to the ship to get stuff after the tour if possible. If not, c'est la vie! Sorry for the barrage of questions, and thanks again for the feedback!
  14. I've been dying for some feedback on the glass bottom boat tour! My son is super interested in doing it, so I went ahead and booked it, but I haven't been able to come across any sort of feedback or details from those who have actually done it. So, @Melodyjn, can I harass you for some details? ?
  15. We're even higher: $139. Summer Oasis-class prices. ? We'll be enjoying a glass-bottom boat tour and relaxing on the beach instead!
  16. Hey Linda, sorry for the delay. This one is probably much more of a "your milage my vary" response depending on the port and its traffic patterns. To be honest I've never rented a car leaving the port, only arriving, so I'll have to defer to the many more experienced cruisers on the board...
  17. Where it can really help is with the shuttle. As you can imagine, the rental location will be pretty busy with customers dropping off the morning of a cruise departure, and all of those people are looking to back to the port ASAP. Moving solo and luggage free makes getting on a shuttle much quicker and easier than having luggage in tow and needing four seats.
  18. The other piece of the equation, even under ideal circumstances with highly trained and experienced crews, medical evacuations at sea via helicopter are always inherently risky operations. It is not worth risking the patient, the aircrew, or those in the immediate vicinity's health and well being to keep a few retail locations open a few hours more. RCI absolutely made the right call to forgo additional profits to protect everyone involved.
