Hotels in Newark NJ? Springhill Suites by Marriott?
USCG Teacher replied to Minuet888's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The answer is all dependent on what you're looking for. Are you just looking for a nice, clean place to rest and have a good night's sleep, then have an easy ride to the port the next day? Maybe GrubHub some dinner? If so, it's a pretty good choice. Are you looking to go out and eat? Maybe see some sights, take in the NYC skyline? If so, you're going to be very disappointed. All depends on what your expectations are! -
Bait and switch cruise price and # of occupants
USCG Teacher replied to p27159's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Break me off a slice of that humble pie as well. We've been so inundated with the drive-by bots that I have convinced this was one, too. I'm very glad you returned to follow-up @p27159, and it looks like @HeWhoWaits, @CrimsonCruiser, @CanHardlyWait and others have already provided you with some good information. Apologies for the cranky welcome wagon and hope you'll stick around in spite of our initial response! -

I am personally offended that you believe this heartfelt story of the trials and tribulations of the 27159 family may not be genuine. -
NEED BBQ RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GALVESTON ISLAND.
USCG Teacher replied to 12thman's topic in Other travel
We went to Queens when we were there and really enjoyed it. The food was good, and the staff was super friendly and went over the whole menu with us. The owner was in the kitchen that day and came out to check in on all the tables. When he found out we were Yanks trying Texas BBQ for the first time, the "let's impress 'em" gene activated, and suddenly lots of little samples starting making their way out on top of the order. Really good meal. -
You'd be shocked how many policies can be danced around simply by being genuinely nice to people.

I was about to ask the same question. As far as I'm aware, everything on the Continental breakfast menu is free.

Galveston Hotel to Port Transportation on Embarkation Day
USCG Teacher replied to SPS's topic in Other travel
When I tried to use them from my Galveston hotel on Seawall, they wouldn't do it. Only wanted longer trips, which I totally understand. By committing to my tiny little trip, they were potentially missing out on a much more lucrative fare. I ended up using LyftXL, couldn't have been easier. Lots of drivers were available when I left, but I still pre-booked just to be safe! -
I honestly thought I was the only person who did this.

Symphony is still unaccounted for over that time frame, so I'd guess she'll be the Oasis-class that runs the standard 7-day NJ-FLA-Bahamas route. Other than that, maybe Freedom or Liberty doing the Bermuda trips over the summer? That's purely a guess based on absolutely nothing, though!

No, you're all good. I think they released the Bayonne Caribbean itineraries with all of the other ones in the past and this is a fairly new routine, but I could also be misremembering as well!

From the looks of things, you're assigned a Boeing 777 for this flight. I'm going to agree with @Carlos A. here and assume that they've just maintained the same seating designations from the Premium Economy section and omitted seats B & K in the 2-4-2 row of Main Cabin Extra. I wouldn't be concerned, but you can always call or jump on the Customer Service chat online or on the app if it'll set your mind at ease!

Minimum bets for craps table
USCG Teacher replied to Rage Shifty's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If you've never played, in the past there were also classes you could sign up for where they walk you through the basics of roulette, blackjack and craps in the casino while it is closed. I think you even got a few bucks in casino credit, too. I'm not sure if these still exist or not, it's been several years since I did it, but it was a nice service. Bonus: since the casino was closed, no smoke. -
Cozumel Restaurant Recommendations Please
USCG Teacher replied to TammyDurkee's topic in Shore Excursions
This looks less like a margarita and more like an alcoholic Dole Whip. If that read like a complaint, I assure you it is not! -
To the contrary, "we will intensify our pressure on the company" sure sounds like a precursor to the phrase management dreads: "Working the contract." When labor works to the letter of the contract and will do NOTHING outside of the scope of what is legally obligated of them, it can absolutely tie companies up in knots. It is an extremely effective negotiating tool, and it will impact flights if they go that route. I'm certainly not saying that's inevitable, but a mediator rejecting a full-on general strike is not the path to clear skies that some might assume.

We did this a few years back and enjoyed ourselves. It was amazingly convenient, too.

Frequent cruisers and travel agents
USCG Teacher replied to happy cruisers 2's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Just seconding literally every post prior to mine. I have enough hassles in my life, having the ability to offload one of them for $0 is a no-brainer to me. -
While I know it's a country mile from playing actual volleyball on the court, they also offer pool volleyball pretty much daily in the sports pool. They basically just set up a net and toss a ball in the pool and the let the guests work the rest out, but it might scratch an itch for you if need be!

I thoroughly enjoy loudly replying to public speakerphone conversations as though they were speaking to me. If they're going to involve me in the conversation, so be it.
