  1. Definitely glad to see you are still well. I assume that Royal's IT department is responsible for at least some of the maintenance on the transporter units, and, well...
  2. My memory is failing me in my old(ish) age, but I know someone on the boards was in a similar situation where their kid was 12 on the original booking and 13 on the L&S date, and they still price protected it at the child rate. I just can't remember who it was to confirm for you.
  3. An excellent choice as well. I hate raw onions, so I hold the red onion, but have it on an onion bagel...
  4. As a long-time Jersey resident, I couldn't agree with this sentiment any more if I tried! I have no idea how IHOPs even survive here to be perfectly honest (but they do, so they must be doing something right!). As an aside, the Liberty Diner that shows up in a local search for Elizabeth is probably the "diner" in Terminal B at EWR. A diner in name only. An alternate choice, if you're looking for a quick breakfast, you can also look for pretty much any local bagel shop in the area. Not only will any bagel shop in that area have to do pretty good bagels just to survive (standards for th
  5. I am officially requesting permission to steal this phrase. Love it!
  6. Yes, I was referring to a merger, not the widely publicized Healthy Sail Panel...
  7. I haven't heard any sort of rumors of the sort, but the way things are right now I think it would be crazy to rule anything out!
  8. Ooh, I had forgotten about this. An MDR breakfast was the only time I ever had smoked kippers. It was a nice way to change things up a bit!
  9. YES! Great choice! For me: Stroganoff Strudel from Ludwig's Garten in Philadelphia. Crispy Rice and drunken noodles from Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. Peanut Butter Pie from Willow Valley Resort in Lancaster, PA. Sweet crepes from literally every street vendor in Paris.
  10. Same. This seems like a perfect lunch activity. Watch/do the interactive portion on my phone with the family while eating, stop by the muster station after we're done eating, enjoy cruise.
  11. Thoughts on Air2Sea? (I know I have mine, but I figure it might be useful for new viewers seeking out info.!)
  12. In fairness, this is an appropriate window of time to expect Royal's IT department to correct an issue.
  13. While I hate to double post the same info in various threads, just in case some people don't make it over to the Shore Excursions section I'll post it here, too. I just got all of my Cruise Planner refunds yesterday from the cruise Lifted and Shifted on May 11th. Like an idiot, I didn't cancel the CP purchases prior to completing the L&S, so I'm sure that added to my wait time. As an aside, I called in on July 9th to check on the status of the refund, and a very helpful customer service representative named Lacey told me she could see the system tried to process my refund on 6/1, bu
  14. This is 100% where I'm at. It always make me think of what George Carlin said:

As an aside, I called in on July 9th to check on the status of the refund, and a very helpful customer service representative named Lacey told me she could see the system tried to process my refund on 6/1, but a computer error prevented it from processing. Why it took me calling to find this error, , but she pushed the transaction through and said that it would be ba
  16. Lift and Shift promises to category protect your booking, but not specifically CABIN protect. If you're in an Oceanview balcony, you're guaranteed another Oceanview balcony (or better), but it could be anywhere in the ship that is the same category. Since you initially booked a GTY, I'd guess that they might put you back into a GTY status for '21, but as with all things Royal, consistently inconsistent seems to be the rule. I'm interested in finding out what happens in your case. Good luck to you!
  17. THERE he is. Good to see you back, @KWong.
  18. The Guard doesn't require a Congressional nomination for the Academy, so if he's all about that Ring Knocker life, he can do it without all the games. Just sayin'.
  19. Went down memory lane with these and reminded me of a question I've always had for you, @twangster: what kind of wide angle lens to you use? They're always so sharp with minimal barrel distortion.
  20. Yes, good point. I'd imagine just sitting on the bridge baking in the sun could have a major influence on the enjoyment factor! I've been fortunate enough to take a few through Europe, but I've never done Amtrak or Via. I hope to correct that discrepancy sooner rather than later. Having a son who is into trains will probably help to push the timeline along!
  21. This is my #2 U.S. bucket list trip, preceded only by taking Coast Starlight from LA to Seattle in a sleeper car, then driving back along the PCH. Route 1 through the Keys looks like an amazing once in a lifetime type of trip.
  22. Very glad to hear this ended up working out in your favor. Sorry you had to jump through so many hoops to make it happen. Good call.
  23. Already have what was supposed to be my August 2020 cruise Lifted and Shifted to 2021, and finances allow me a cruise a year at most, so already thinking '22! The last cruise I was on was on Mariner, and the Voyager class was currently the largest class passenger ship at sea (I was also on Adventure and Voyager). I remember thinking at the time that I could not imagine there being a larger cruise ship. Swing and a miss there! As a Muse fan, I can not argue this point! Many thanks to you, @crisgold52, @sk8erguy1978 and @twangster! Sounds like this may just come down to
