  1. I'm looking at $133 and there's just no way, especially knowing how busy the lines get. Since I'd be going by myself (traveling with my mom and she is very much not a thrill slide person) there's probably a bunch of slides I couldn't even do (experienced this on Liberty ) and for the ones I could do, maybe I'd go down each one twice? at best When we got the De Palm day pass in Aruba that has slides at the beach, I did those twice in a row then once before we had to leave. There wasn't enough time to do more than that after wanting to soak up the soak, eat lunch, see the flamingos and bounce around in the ocean. With all that CocoCay offers, I imagine it's even worse. With long lines, high towers and a million activities I can't see anyone really getting their money worth unless they spend all day at the park.
  2. For like half a morning, a seagull was just riding along with the ship from our balcony railing.
  3. They may be eligible but there may simply not be any more unoccupied in the higher categories. I imagine accessible rooms are limited to probably a small handful per category so they may have sold out prior to the Royal Up bids going out.
  4. No one mentioned popcorn delivery could be a genie perk! Well now I just GOTTA get in a Star class suite!
  5. I'm guessing the article has been updated by the time I read it an hour ago because under the ways to spend OBC it says if you need to book onboard or pre-cruise and even has a whole section dedicated to using OBC in the cruise planner....
  6. I know Allure is different ship, but they usually had it near where big shows were. We could smell it by the aqua theater but I didn't find it. And we saw it on deck 4 by the comedy club both for Mama Mia and then later in the week with the Ice Show. It doesn't seem to be a thing they advertise or talk about so Harmony may have it and it may be a follow-your-nose experience.
  7. I chose bowling because it's the only one I could see them either making free or have the lowest cost. The VR experience on Odyssey was great and I was glad I could sneak in while it was still included in the fare because it didn't dazzle enough to justify a cost to me. Roller coasters and gokarts certainly look cool on paper or in ads but it doesn't seem like you get a good amount of time on the ones currently existing on other brands and, again, for the cost, I think I'd want a bit more.
  8. Hijacking this thread for door decor idea help. I'm looking for some clever snappy word play to put on our door for Harmony. I want to incorporate Oasis or Harmony and the fact that this will be our first Diamond sailing but I also don't want it to be cliche (no "Diamonds are a girls' best friend" for example). When we did Odyssey, I did "from Chi-town to Seabound" for a little bit a slant rhyme. Let me know what cleverer minds think.
  9. 2 more years left to get on an Oasis Class ship for rock bottom prices! Lol (but seriously...those fresh-amped prices are steep)
  10. I've actually wondered if the high prices were intended to stop them selling out too fast or to small groups of 2 or 3 vs larger groups who can justify the cost per person. I mean, a cabana for just me and my mom at that cost is an easy and absolute no, but maybe if we had 4 other people with us, the $300/person would seem more reasonable (it doesn't though Lol)
  11. I was wondering why my watch just vanished! Seems like a bit of a crazy thing...what if you forget what you were watching cuz you have the full list of 5 and then can't re-add them....
  12. Welcome and thanks to @TexasPam for being member 24,000!
  13. Howdy Shannon! Welcome to the Allure suite life. They didn't when I was on last year but..that was last year and things change quickly. Yes, I think you can reserve everything accept the comedy shows in the designated comedy lounge. Not even a little bit. The only perk to the Key that I think is nice that a Sky Class Suite won't give you is a place to drop off your carry-on bags. Coastal Kitchen is open for lunch on embarkation day if you want some place quieter and calmer to eat, you get complimentary Voom for one device per person, reserved seating in almost all venues and priority embarkation and debarkation all for being in a Sky class suite. You don't need a dining plan to eat at the specialty restaurants but if you're planning on trying a lot of them, it may be a good cost investment vs paying the cover charges individually.
  14. It's possible they have some intern looking around for hot topic things when they come up (new ship news, complaints, premiere package fiasco) but I'm pretty sure it's just a temperature gauge thing and less of a "oh let's specifically talk to this person here". Forums like this are great for them to spy on and see what we think without their direct involvement.
  15. The mouse and the bros warner have been cracking down on their licenses for reasons of $$ so the Royal entertainment staff on that ship may have just been being overly cautious to avoid any potential issues.
  16. Thank you so much for even being willing to try!
  17. We did it on Allure last year and I still say it was the best specialty dining we've done (that's not the highest bar because we've only done a handful but still....) I loved the beef most and the sides are basically unlimited. The staff was really great too, patient, funny, nice etc. I'm actually very sad to hear Samba is only a couple ships and I saw in a FB group that the one on Radiance will be going away at her dry dock. On Allure Solarium Bistro turns into Samba at night so it was a little weird being in this kinda classy, candlelit area with people in bikinis walking right by the window but as it got later the number of bathers dwindled and instead we got a lovely sunset through the windows.
  18. ooh I've actually thought about asking folks for something like this but have been cautious. But...shooting my shot... Anyone going on Odyssey willing to pick me up a Teddy Bear captain? I ended up regretting not getting literally as soon as we got off and I have no idea if or when I'll go back. (plus i think it's part of the inaugural line so it's probably going away or already gone)
  19. As Ashley said, those are the late night options and if it is anything like Allure last year, after about 10 pm there will be a line at each. It's a fast moving line but with so much to do on Oasis class ships, there are many more people staying up late and hungry.
  20. We love using the OBC to treat ourselves to something we may not have gotten otherwise. Usually a pricier shore excursion or a specialty dining reservation. Our TA gives us OBC that can only be used onboard and that I like to use to shop lol
  21. There's usually a T-shirt sale and some kind of $10 sale for items like jewelry ("costume"), cover-ups, sun hats, beach bags etc in the promenade/esplanade or shopping centrum. They're announced in the Cruise Planner and, if your Cruise Director does the morning or evening announcements, they tend to mention them there as well. Otherwise, just wait til you see the mobs in the aforementioned areas and you know that's the day.
  22. Seems like I'm in the minority so far , but I had a blast on it on Odyssey. I would definitely have done it again if I was on a ship that had it. That said, I can see how it may have issues. My "blast" was partly because I ended up using it wrong. Easily swayed by the VR I kept my legs curled and used apparently quite a lot of force when jumping. On lookers said I was twice as high as other participants and swinging all over the place. I SWEAR I tried to follow the rules and keep my legs straight but the virtual rocks and mountains I was jumping over sent signals to my brain to duck, tuck, dodge and swerve lol. I apologized profusely to the staff monitoring me and while he took it in good humor, I think I could tell he definitely had had a hard time. I'm sure to him it looked like I was intentionally doing whatever I wanted. I'm sure the staff are in worse position to get kicked in the face or worse, not to mention other issues such as what @Ampurp85 mentioned. I'll be sad to see it go, glad I got my chance, and interested to see what comes next
  23. Hoping we get Royal up for our August Harmony and they look this good. We have JS this year but I got the mom to agree that if we get Royal up we'd bid as much as we paid for the internet package for a GS 1 Bedroom. At rates like these we would be just above the minimum bid and if what @FireFishII says would be true, that'd put us in a good standing to maybe actually win
