  1. Did you read that in the news? Maybe it's just a US thing but if you read the news here there are plenty of stories on how effective the vaccine is.
  2. I usually have the full drink package but relatives have had the refreshment package and it is included.
  3. It will be time, if the public is happy with a NZ and pacific travel bubble then there should be no reason for cruising locally to be put on hold.
  4. But its not just the travel on the planes its what the traveller does and where they go when they get there. Freedom of movement is the number one method of spread in the community.
  5. Those rules are not in place forever and are only relevant to the local govt authorithy. In saying that I will gladly be on the first ship sailing with those rules and know many who are the same.
  6. That is my point, hard to criticise a countries rules with those numbers, something is working. And basically all those are returned travellers in quarantine.
  7. To be fair not many people dying in Singapore.
  8. Maybe. I cruised on her in Australia. Definitely no smoking inside there.
  9. Excess mortality in the USA is running at 20% with the current restrictions in place. Yet Countries who have done well have a negative excess mortality due to low case numbers and restrictions but they are not shut down. By the way 100 deaths per day due to car accidents is the factual Not made up number. Yes too many but that's why we have speed limit laws and seat belts and highway patrols.
  10. Was on in Dec 19 after Amp. Smoking outside only.
  11. Zero cases today in OZ, pretty sure that means something.
  12. I guess it's all relative to what you are used to. If 3000 deaths from covid a day is usual then when you get 2000 you are doing relatively well. Our state borders in Australia get closed when there is a couple of cases in a day because most states have been covid free for months and dont want even one case. Bonus for these states is that life is pretty much normal other than some social distancing measures.
  13. Plus most of the ships are on the other side of the world and have more chance of starting earlier there. Quantum already operating in Singapore and there is hope for Australia later this year.
  14. In Australia 95% of our covid cases are returned overseas travellers in enforced hotel quarantine. These people test positive days after they return the problem being the incubation period of the virus. This is a big problem for the return of cruising. There is no way even through testing to stop it getting onboard where cases are so numerous in the community. No amount of mask wearing and social distancing can stop the spread onboard.
  15. 3000 dying a day and people rejecting the vaccine because a couple of people have had non fatal reactions. Makes sense and explains everything.
  16. No, just supports the awfulness of this virus and makes you wonder what may occur if the world did treat it as another flu.
  17. Sure use 2020 as a timeline for your point but fact is currently COVID is the no 1 killer in America. 3880 in the last 24 hours and a quarter of a million cases. No amount of measures is going to allow cruising or normality in general to return without a succesful vaccine or herd immunity is reached.
  18. But even with these controls in place we are seeing days of over 3000 deaths from covid. Those numbers make it the number 1 killer in the USA. Not only this heart disease is a build up of many years of things and doesnt kill you in a week.
  19. The numbers show that.
  20. Personal choice, you follow the health guidelines or you stay home. Some people more than happy to, they really dont care about the others who dont and choose to stay home.
  21. Simple fact Singapore has no Community Covid. Being 83 doesnt mean you will catch it if it's not there.
  22. This may only be in Australia then. This is from my cruise facebook group. I have similar somewhere I will find as I booked direct but this was from a TA.
  23. Being from Australia I assure you there is very little chance of this happening in 2021. Doubt we will not be accepting tourists from the USA by then.
  24. I have called Royal direct and they have told me they are not chasing final payments, and there is currently no need to pay. I do suggest you call in person though.
  25. Maybe if they did wear masks it would have made a difference. I thought the target was to reduce numbers not keep them the same. I will wear a mask if that is what is required. I am lucky to live in a country that does not need masks now (not one that doesnt require you to wear one)
