I tried a search in Royal's site and all it returned was, Excursion Times are in Ship's time.  So, what I can gather from here is that, IT DEPENDS.

Checking the Ovation of the Seas current 8 night cruise calendar of events the ships time changes twice:

    1. Day 2 at 2:00 am the ships clocks are set back one hour to  Alaska Daylight Time
    2. Day 7 at 2:00 am the ships clocks are set ahead one hour to Pacific Daylight Time

I can understand embarkation or debarkation at a Canadian port but I wouldn't think it would be necessary for a port of call when someone is not going to get off the ship.

When a ship enters the water of any nation anywhere in the world that ship is under the jurisdiction of that nation.

As Twangster stated once a ship enters within the 12 mile Canadian territorial waters the crew and passengers are subject to Canadian laws.

Especially when that same ship is tied up to the cruise ship terminal at Victoria.

I'm not saying that this is acceptable as a replacement for something that you have planned on, paid for, and was looking forward to.  But, they are going to refund and give you a $50.00 OBC if you had pre-purchased the Key.  But, they say the "refund" could take up to 30 days to be seen back on your C.C.  You'll probably be back home by the time you see the refund.

The 30 days are business days which means the refund could show up as late as June 7th.

    Dear Guest,

We have an important change to share with you regarding your purchase of The Key.

As we continue to evaluate the program while returning it to service across our fleet, we regret to inform you we will be unable to offer The Key onboard Ovation of the Seas during your cruise and your reservation has been cancelled.

We know how much time and planning goes into a vacation, and we're very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this last-minute change. We've issued a full refund of The Key to your original form of payment, and you should see it reflected within 30 business days. On top of your refund, we're also providing you with a $50 USD non-refundable Onboard Credit per person to use anywhere onboard, such as in one of our Specialty Dining venues, in the Vitality Spa, and more!

Thank you for your understanding. We're wishing you a wonderful sailing and are looking forward to welcoming you onboard soon!

    Sincerely,

    Royal Caribbean International

    Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding your CPAP/BIPAP.

We will provide you with the distilled water and an extension cord, at no extra cost. These items will be placed in your stateroom on the day of sailing.

Please carry your CPAP/BIPAP machine onboard with your carry-on luggage. Please do not check it in with the porters.

We have noted your reservation accordingly.

    Best regards,

Only the stateroom your son is occupying is eligible for the military discount.  Note: military discounts are not available for all cruises and cannot be combined with other discounts.

What special pricing is available on a Royal Caribbean cruise?

To qualify for a military rate, an individual must be classified as one of the following:

    1. Active personnel currently serving in the Canadian National Defense; United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserves. Proper identification in the form of a United States Uniformed Services WHITE Identification Card for U.S. military personnel, and a WHITE N.D.21 Identification Card with a Red Canadian Flag displayed for Canadian National Defense personnel, must be presented at time of check-in.
    2. Retired from any of the divisions listed directly above. "Retired" is defined as A) enlisted personnel or officers with a minimum of 20 years of service, B) medically retired, or C) 100% disabled. Proper identification for those classified in category A or B must be in the form of a United States Uniformed RED (Reserve retired personnel) or BLUE (Active Duty retired personnel) Identification Card. Proper identification for those classified in category C is a United States Uniformed TAN Identification Card. Retired Canadian National Defense personnel are eligible and must possess a green NDI-75 card (retired personnel). All forms of identification must be presented at time of check-in.
    3. Veterans with an Honorable Discharge serving a minimum of 2 years, or 6-months in an active war zone, in any of the United States service divisions listed above. Proper identification in the form of a DD 214, plus a current photo must be presented at time of check-in.
    4. Spouses of actively deployed military personnel are eligible to book one stateroom as long as the eligible spouse is occupying the stateroom. This rate also applies to all other guests traveling in the same stateroom. Spouses of deceased military personnel are also eligible for the military rate. As proof of eligibility, spouses must present the Pink or Tan Dependent Military ID upon check-in.
    • All guests traveling in the same stateroom are eligible to receive the military rate. No additional staterooms, other than the one that is occupied by the military person is eligible for the military rate. Spouses, parents, in-laws, children or other family members or friends are not eligible for the military rate without the eligible military person occupying the stateroom.

On day 45 I did our check-in procedure on my phone.  I took a picture of my/our vaccine cards.  They are still saying that they are "verifying" them.  So, my question is, how do they verify a non-controlled document, the pertinent information is handwritten.  What is or can be verified?

I can't remember, from past cruises, when luggage tags are available, boarding passes, and/or when boarding times are available.  But, as of today, neither are available.  No, there is no important rush for them, I'm just a little impatient.  Okay, maybe a lot impatient.  🤭

    Inquiring minds want to know!

I called this morning about when to expect boarding times to be available and after the CSR checked I was told 30 days out from the cruise that it would be available.

On your check in day it starts at 12:01 am EST.  If you live on the west coast of United States you can check in at 9:01 pm.  Have your passport and vaccine card handy so there is no issues checking in.  I have also switched between my phone and computer to get completely signed in.

That was not my experience today while trying to do an online check in although Royal IT might have had a hand in my problems.

I live in the Central Time Zone and my cruise is leaving from the Pacific Time Zone and March 29th is my 45th day out from my cruise.

    • March 28th 11:03 pm CDT online check in was NOT available.
    • March 29th 12:07 am CDT online check in was NOT available.
    • March 29th 1:22 am CDT online check in was NOT available
    • March 29th 3:20 am  CDT online check in WAS available

Using the Royal app required taking photos of passports so I logged into my account on Chrome and just had to enter the passport expiration date and number and uploaded copies of our vaccine cards.

Unfortunately at no time up to now am I able to select a boarding time.

They're gonna be earning it. Probably be a banner year for them income wise too.

Not sure how passengers paying $18 per day vs the normal lowest price of $42 per day will result in a banner year income wise for the bartenders.

18% gratuity for $18 per day is $3.24 per day vs the $7.56 per day in gratuity based on a $42 per day price. This would seem to indicate that every passenger that got the $18 price would need to tip an additional $4.32 per day over normal extra tips just to bring the gratuities in balance with normal prices. Seems to me the bartenders will be in for a banner year working more and earning less in tips. Of course these numbers all depends on how many people got the $18 deal.
