  1. Another thing to note that once you do get your cabin number-which is very up in the air when that happens such as some get it very close to their cruise or I got our FOTS assignment already for Jan 5 2020 cruise-you can (if there is availability) ask to switch to a different cabin in the same class per some advice I had seen here. We think we will enjoy where we ended up but wanted to pass that along.
  2. Interesting...I wonder if they bring in more CBP to process people quicker? How does disembarkation go? Do you have to repeat the process or are the two situations-on ship vs disembarkation-very different?
  3. And it's probably more expensive if there are multiple ships port at Coco Cay.
  4. Where are they staying then? This has me puzzled.
  5. What a humble reminder. We should also save the elevator for those people and if we can just go up/down a few flights of stairs we should. Plus, let's be real, we could often use the little exercise from eating all the food
  6. Another good is less movement on the ship if the ship is docked during the sea day instead of being at sea. It will be interesting to see how this trial plays out.
  7. They will be in your rooms when you board the ship.
  8. Have you checked out the cruise compasses? I'm not sure if I've seen them in there for every compass but at least a few days should be in there. I'm also not sure how often they change up the drink of the day between cruises.
  9. It should also be noted that RoyalUp is a logistics game....meaning as they RoyalUp one room, that frees up that room for the next RoyalUp-so on and so forth. You really don't know what you are going to get and what could open up as a result of various RoyalUps or as AshelyDillo mentioned, cancellations. My suggestion is if you are ok with being in any other room on the ship from yours in the set of RoyalUp you selected (so if you have junior suite, are you ok with any junior suite on the ship since you don't know which one you will get?) then go for it. Otherwise, just stay where you are. Another note with RoyalUp if you aren't familiar, is if you upgrade to a suite from a balcony or interior room, you do not get the double points that you get with a suite. You only get double points for a suite when you book a suite level room initially-not with RoyalUp.
  10. I had a dream last night that I discovered/met @twangster on a disembarkation day of a cruise......that is when you know you spend (cannot say too much) time on here.
  11. For Vision of the Seas? If yes, there is a LIVE blog that just started for one that sounds like this....you can follow if you wish.
  12. As he has said, if you go on this ship with big and or new ship expectations, you will be disappointed. If you go knowing it’s a smaller ship with less passengers, wanting to use the pool and be entertained in intimate venues, you are all set. Every cruise is what you make of it.
  13. My friend is scared of sleeping in the dark outside and describes her mosquito net as a way for her to "rationalize her irrational fears" and I'm sure you understand that phrase.
  14. Just remember your meds. I had forgotten my good over the counter meds and regretted it. When I realized that was the part of the ship I was likely having issues with, I just avoided it, sadly, since it's a very nice area. Only you know your limits with plant life so just plan accordingly. All other areas were fine for me and I'm sure this area would have been ok had I remembered my meds.
  15. Sounds like you are seriously having no regrets with these types of posts-sounds awesome! I wish I was there!
  16. I believe this is going to be a trend we see, unfortunately.....which then adds to another thread where ships were turning away from SJ, PR and no other port scheduled. Not the same area but if countries/cities are banning ships in particular locations, that will cause hardship on cruise lines to find backup ports to dock at. However, I can understand why they feel the need to do this too. Same applies if it were a land cruise and the buses, etc.
  17. I think with Harmony being so big it is probably difficult to schedule a last minute port for her without messing up the rest of the itinerary/schedule.
  18. What ship went to Tortola? Given the size of Harmony, I wonder if it could fit in that port since I've never seen an Oasis class have Tortola as a port. It also may be that Tortola cannot or does not care to handle as many visitors as one Oasis class ship would bring.
  19. Congratulations and way to be persistent and determined! I am looking forward to following you.
  20. Something to think about for Central Park Balcony: allergies I agree that it is quiet and peaceful but just make sure you take meds if needed. The same holds true if you walk in there.
  21. I do not think I've ever seen a service dog to date (only two cruises though). I do not blame you for being horrified to see the dog being held while the owner was utilizing the buffet to get food. I would think that this isn't standard protocol but not entirely sure.
  22. Thank you @Matt for clearing the way for a real @twangster Live Blog! Sounds like nicely asking for Guinness paid off!
