  1. I don't know how anyone else feels or thinks, but personally I think a response within 2 hours on a blog forum complaint is fantastic. Yes thanks to @Xaa for highlighting. I would give this company another chance, if it was me. BTW I am happy with my Agent
  2. I'm in that same boat. I belive you are right that the refund of original OBC will come when they actually cancel the package, mine all still show as booked. I also looks like the order they are working is by cruise departure date as my close in one show the 100obc, but later departures don't yet. Also think they probably have a program written to do this and I imagine the are doing all the credits of OBC, then will go back and do all the cancellations of packages, resulting in the refunds
  3. First I've heard of this left Allure a week ago and used my voucher for a specialty coffee on disembarkcation morning. Are they now going to cut off my internet that morning also?
  4. They do if room are actually available, just contact your Travel Agent and they them to up grade your booking, at prevailing price of course. I've done it when I saw a suite become available after booking when at booking they were sold out, luckily my agent was responsive.
  5. As long as my cabin steward willing to honor my request that I be the first cabin that he/she services in the morning. I be happy to put the "Sleeping of the Adventure" sign out for the rest of that day. In fact they only have to be willing to check my cabin door when they come on shift in the morning. If it has the "out catching thrills" magnet on it I'm up for service, if not I will not be needing any service at all that day at any time. Usually on a 7 night cruise I try to give them at least 3 days off.
  6. MEI supports this web site and the major manager watches it often. I would belive any of their Agents would provide excellent service. My personal one has already been named
  7. Definitely not early enough as far as I'm concerned, but the I can't remember when if seen 10 pm either
  8. But I would expect my TA to be UPFRONT about charging me a fee to do something. About the only travel related service that does not pay commission is the airlines
  9. Yes they are BAD, they with there secret practices give legitimate Travel Agents a bad name. No TA should hide the invoice from the company, as the company pays the from, in my experiance, 10 to 18% of the base fare already. Jmho if you disagree just move on
  10. And I always DEMAND a copy of the Royal invoice. Anyone that won't provide it, in my opinion is extremely shady. Never would I do business with them again.
  11. You need to ask for a copy of the Royal Caribbean invoice for your cruise. When a TA does a group cruise rate, they secure lower prices from Royal by putting a certain number of cabins on hold at a discounted price, but they do not sell them to you for more, you get that discounted price. The only reason for a TA to charge more than the Royal price is if it is a special event cruise, like a Fan cruise for say musical group or a charter cruise.
  12. I have asked on quite a few ships now to some of the F&B managers, seems to be conscious that wait staff is just one big pool, which also includes Specialty Restaurant staff. The difference is what portion of that pool you get. I.e. Specialty Restaurant staff gets a larger portion of the pool than MDR staff. What I am still unsure of, as I have conflicting information and it may vary from ship to ship, on whether they have to turn in cash, WoW envelope tips to the pool. I have heard it both ways
  13. Not a big deal made for not finishing, but they were not in any hurry to ask if you were finished and bring the next one out. Seemed better to flag them down and ask for it. That was our experience
  14. Past 2 weeks and currently on Allure. First the enchilada on Mexican night, although huge, was a burrito not an enchilada, so who came up with that for a recipe, guessing they never ate in any Mexican restaurant I have ever been in. It was good though not what I expected, I will order it again. One entree at a time was strictly enforced, if you didn't finish the first one you really had to ask for the 2nd one. Even for the appetizer, when I have two and the wife has one I usually ask for mine to both be delivered at same time, I was told that was not allowed and waiter was instant that it was one at a time.
  15. Ok, we had the so called "Maine Lobster" from the new menu. Where you only get 1 tail for free. On Allure, it is definately not cold water lobster, small tails as before.
  16. Trees are coming back slowly. I talk with the head gardener almost every morning. In the 2 weeks I'm now on I can see marked improvement in many trees. Dont expect it to return fast though, trees lush in maybe a year, those will not be replaced. Some smaller plant are on order, when they arrive is anyones guess.
  17. 2 things I will comment on, Do it as soon as you can, i have it applied to cruises over a year out. I have had better luck with using email than the on-line process. Normally i just get a copy of the invoice emailed from them showing the OBC applied.
  18. @Tom Andersonif this is your first time sailing in a suite on an Oasis class ship let me recomend that you skip an UDP and take your meals in the Suite Only resturant Costal Kitchen. The first night menu has a Filet Mignon that has always been as good as in Chops. Even if you don't follow my advice for dinner know that Costal Kitchen (CK) serves lunch every day noon to 1:30 Enjoy your cruise.
  19. Actually for us a little smaller portion would help. We don't do the bread basket, usually only allow ourselves 1 dessert on a 7 day cruise. Mostly skip lunch (ok once or twice I'll splurge - don't tell my wife) Only other change that would help us would be more vegetables.
  20. Truth be told they ought to just eliminate the lounge and turn it into a revenue producing space. I mean they already provide 4 or 5 complementary drinks. The hors-d'oeues are nothing to talk about, the only thing you could miss is morning coffee
  21. You are correct that one can almost always get a slot on late dining, as for North American sailings that is the least sought after time slot. What can almost never be done is to move those 2 nights to use MTD.
  22. As echo by many here MTD has been a nightmare post Covid, though I never experienced it before covid @twangsterhas said that he thought Royal was trying to kill it off pre-covid
  23. When you do that, it gives you the ability to lock in a time, but when you use the BOGO they will refund the original price to your onboard account as a refundable credit. They then charge you the onboard price and use you BOGO Then some ships my do it differently
