  1. I have been crushing for 25 years and cruises have improved dramatically in every way. People make such negative comments but I guess I'm lucky in that my experience has only improved.  That's why I bought the stock, again luckily at a dirt cheap price. I remember over the years watching many cruisers getting this entitled angry attitude over time. We called them the angry cruisers. I guess many are still around.

  2. It will be interesting to see if anything changes. People may travel abroad less which may actually increase cruise demand. I've been amazed over the years how much people will spend on vacations and entertainment, think $1,000 concert tickets. Only time will tell. These are all just guesses.

I don't find it strange. They have determined that it maximizes profit, which is of course their priority as a for-profit, publicly traded company.

That doesn't mean every cruiser has to be happy

Another consideration is that across all the companies, there are now so many ships and the numbers are greatly increasing. They seem to be running out of ports for them all to go to. I think Royal is smart building all these private stops. It will at least give them somewhere to go as competition continues to increase. Shorter cruises may be one of the most practical ways to deal with this.

  4. Maybe Canada will close their ports and not allow US cruiseships like they did during Covid, almost bankrupting Royal and hurting Alaska. They were going to pass a law back then so ships could go straight to Alaska and bypass Canada. I sure hope things don't escalate back to that level. I have a cruise out of Vancouver soon. However, if it moves to Seattle and goes straight to Alaska I'll have no choice.
