  2. My girlfriend just lost her aunt and 4 of her cousins are infected. In the beginning she was saying it is just like fly , and now she knows it is not a joke. But it is sad to realize how serious it is until it hit close to home. We live in Florida.
  3. You are right. We have October 2 and I am waiting to see before me what will happened . I know it will be a lot of change but I rather read about that and then go.
  4. I just did I got credit for my son's cruise. And it is weird.
  5. I try to explain and ask if he can give me credit on at least one of my cruises and he say no and then his manager said same thing. So I am canceling for my son not to . So I guess I will loose all deposit. And I will never do that again. Thank you anyway.
  6. I am not complaining about Next Sunday cruise . I am reading everybody's post and as I see nobody got money back even after 60 days . I was talking about cruise in October that I get for my daughter but she don't want to go on cruise and she say she never will. So credit is lost to then.
  7. My cruise for next week was cancel and I never get penny yet from RC . I am not even complaining about that , neater I call them and asking them for money. But it is more then month now since Royal cancel "Harmony of the Seas' for next Sunday. They didn't even give money for tips we pay upfront. But If we new about virus at the time when we book our cruise for October I am sure I will not pay non-refundable deposit . And I am only one in my family why still book 3 more cruises one for New Year and 2 next May.

  10. I know it is hard for them loosing so much business , but they need to be much better in costumer service and work with people why are repeat customers even more. I am in sales for years and I am very careful how I treat my old customers. I just don't understand there logic?
  11. Reason is bc I book first time for 4 people and then one didn't want to go so we cancel him. Still I was thinking they need at least to transfer credit to my cruise, my daughter will not go in future. But I was holding for 50 min waiting for supervisor and he just hang up! I have another 5 different reservations and it make me really mad now.

  13. I just cancel October cruise for my daughter and RC told me they will give only $100 back and rest will be credit for future cruises. My daughter is not big fan of cruising and I am not sure she will go in future . I think it is not fer now with virus to tied money or even let you transfer to other member of family ? Do you have same experience?
  14. I need you advise. My cruise for this months is cancel. Reading about possible bankruptcy I am afraid Royal can go try that to. Should I get money back or gamble and put 125% for cruise that I put deposit for next May?
  15. I hope not!!! But I have young man why is still on ship waiting to go home the end of this month and rest of the crew . Logically if they are all going home how they will operate cruising in June? I think the earliest they will resume cruising is late August or September?
  16. I agree. I am European why live in USA for 40 years and I still didn't get used to it about firearms and like you say low suits about everything . It is just different culture .
  17. We book New Year cruise with Harmony of the Seas from Port Canaveral. Last payment is going to be September 28. It is still 5 months until final payment and just listening dr. Fauci saying this fall virus will come back. I guess they will not have vaccine until then. It make me happy to look forward to cruise and skeptical and same time. Did anybody book cruise for New Year?

Mi Island Medical's C-FORTS platform with a built-in bathroom, priced starting at $350,000 ICU pods backed by hospital ships proposed for Caribbean cruise ports Anne Kalosh | Apr 23, 2020 As cruise lines face the possibility of having to provide full-fledged intensive care and isolation units on ships to cope with COVID-19, consultant Hugh Darley thinks he has a better idea. Destinations take control Darley proposes a solution that would allow Caribbean destinations to have more control, protecting their citizens but also restoring confidence in cruising by ensuring travelers don't get stuck on a ship should someone aboard fall sick. Mi Island Medical is an integrated system that would see destinations screening every person on arrival at ports of entry. If someone is symptomatic, they would be taken to a self-contained field hospital for further testing and care, in isolation. Portable ICUs This field hospital would be made of ICU pods manufactured by FORTS, a Florida-based company that provides portable shelters for emergency, military and hospitality uses. FORTS is a supplier to the US Navy. Destinations would be backed up by a dedicated hospital ship, each with helicopter. The two ships would operate on a set itinerary, one from a US mainland port — Darley envisions Tampa — serving the northern region and the other from Puerto Rico, serving the southern Caribbean. These would collect people from the shoreside ICUs to be quarantined on board or accommodated in medical suites and returned to a US homeport. 'Cruise lines would be provided with a clear and simple strategy for dealing with a viral outbreak or other medical emergency,' Darley said. Ships would be able to arrive at their destination knowing that expert care is ready at the dockside. If a situation warrants, a helicopter transfer directly to the hospital ship can occur. The port quarantine facilities/mobile ICUs would be suitable to care for people who need further screening or a higher level of care without having to ‘enter’ the country, while repatriation can be planned, or a transfer to the hospital ship. The hospital ships Mi Island Medical has identified two Italian-built fast ferries that could be repurposed into hospitals, with the cabins refitted as general ward accommodations and the upper car deck holding prefabricated ICUs with independent ventilation for isolation and critical care requirements. The lower car deck would house bulk equipment, additional deployable FORTS units and emergency vehicles. All this also could enable the ships to be deployed in a disaster situation, if needed. Their 34-knot operational speed would allow rapid response in an emergency. 'No one should rely on the cruise lines or airlines to provide a solution,' Darley said. 'Our system allows the island port authorities to test at the gangway and determine if the passenger or crew member is healthy or ill. Our on-site ICU can then be used to further test and determine if the patient stays in the ICU and does not re-board the ship.' Mandatory travel insurance A new class of mandatory travel insurance would be needed to support the system. According to Darley, up to 2m US citizens alone are in the Caribbean region on any given day. On many islands, hospital facilities can be limited and triage challenging. The Mi Island medical plan for the umbrella coverage of the region would allow partner cruise lines, airlines and resort operators to ensure their customers have access to US/internationally approved facilities and treatments as soon as possible. Darley said five pods are recommended at each port, consisting of three ICUs, a check-in area and an electrical/mechanical unit, at a total cost of about $1m to $1.5m. Franchise package Ports or governments would purchase a franchise package that includes the pods, equipment and training for medical personnel, who would be sourced from the destinations. Islands and countries that form the membership community would benefit from access to modern and safe facilities that are backed up by and enhanced by regular visits of the hospital ship, according to Mi Island Medical. These could be used for tourists and as part of the wider community health support, providing access to MRI scanners and other equipment.   20. I just call RC asking abut my cruise May 24-th. They told me first they will give back taxes we pay for this cruise and then around May 15 -th to call so I can get 125% for future cruise minus taxes.

  23. I am surprise with RC. Why they are waiting with cancellation. NY, LA, Washington state all postpone until May 15 . RC still have cruising starting May 12-th?
  24. I think everybody should be realistic at this time. We all love to cruise but we have to see what is going on in the world and here with virus. And make rational decision .
