Prices aren't coming down, they just haven't gone up as crazy as the new ships so they appear much lower.

No Royal Caribbean ship any pools or jacuzzis in the thermal spa. Most other cruise lines (Holland, NCL, Princess) do but not Royal or Celebrity.

Longshoremen work stoppage looming?
Vancity Cruiser replied to Sealegs's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
There was a strike by longshoremen here in Vancouver in 2022 as the week before cruise ships were scheduled to arrive for the first time in 2 years after the C word. An agreement was reached where they still provided limited service (not sure if it was deemed essential) so there was some slight delays but not too bad. It was a lot worse if you were waiting on a container. -
Discovery of the Seas

I already cruise Celebrity but the status match is very underwhelming to me. The free drink vouchers on Royal is unmatched in the cruising space and with the price of drink packages nowadays even more so. When Celebrity begins offering free drink vouchers (or a soda package) I'll get excited. -
Unless they booked and paid in full within the 90 day window. I am so thankful to have never been through this. I cannot imagine how disappointing this must be. The only time I've had a cruise cancelled was when Royal cancelled our cruise on Symphony in January 2022 due to omicron less than 24 hrs before we were scheduled to sail. I was devastated, but my wife (who because of her ADHD thrives under crisis mode) worked her magic and 16 hours later we were boarding Norwegian Joy. At least in this case Royal gave us 100% refund and 100% future cruise credit although they did nothing about flights.

Yes, all pools have a rinse off shower. Technically they are for rinsing off before entering the pool or hot tub but very few people actually do.

Removed from ship after food poisoning. No refund.

I am not here to defend Royal for their handling of things but the number of posters who come on and say "I'm never cruising Royal again" may as well go with I'm never cruising again because the other lines are going to handle things pretty much the same way. The reality is that the cruise lines are much more similar than they are different, especially when it comes to handling of issues. If you expect to go on another cruise line and expect the same situation to be handled in a much different way you are going to be sorely disappointed. -
Royal pricing makes absolutely no sense. As @Atlantix2000 mentions all that really matters is the final price. I never look at whatever 'sale' or 'promo' they are offering because as OP says 'the math ain't mathing'

7 night cruise for $300
Vancity Cruiser replied to CruisingSteve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Generally reposition cruises are cheaper as they are are logistically less desirable for most people. Living in Vancouver I usually take advantage of this in the spring and fall to fill in my cruising schedule. -

12 hours in Vancouver, what to do?
Vancity Cruiser replied to Southern Dan's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
There is a little convenience store 1 block from terminal (circled below) that offers luggage storage for the day. I cannot remember what they charge but the sign is always there during cruise season. -
yeah I am. Used that all up a long time ago lol

Is FCC still valid? I thought it all 'expired' in 2022?

They cancelled our reservation and didn’t tell us……😡🤬😡
Vancity Cruiser replied to KimZ's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That is crazy. Admitting it is their mistake and then asking for more money to rectify it. I would be furious! -
Edge class is definitely a league of its own but that doesn't mean the other ships in the fleet are bad. Some of the older ships have been what they call 'revolutionized'. This was a much more indepth reno than the Royal 'amplification'. The ships were stripped down to bare metal and completely redone. Edge class if definitely the best and if thats what you want then thats what you should book but you are still going to have an amazing experience on the other Celebrity ships as well.

If it was available in North America I would definitely purchase it when I have later flights booked -
Summit... The Good, the Bad and the Downright UGLY!!!

Somewhat surprised by the issues you had considering Summit is one of their 'revolutionized' ships. -
RC with new C&A-related trademarks

Which cruise line has a better loyalty program than Royal? I cruise different lines but would argue Royals loyalty program with the drink vouchers is the best in the industry -

RC - Stolen from my safe box
Vancity Cruiser replied to Theron's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It is possible to get off the ship without a passport. I am a Canadian citizen and am able to disembark in US ports with facial recognition so no reason why cruisers from India wouldn’t be able to do the same. I would be incredibly frustrated to be stuck in this situation. -
