Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the price varied... almost everything else does with Royal, lol. I thought I saw a much lower price in the past but I could be wrong or it could be the variability.

Hopefully if I book it ASAP on the ship maybe the price will be lower instead of waiting until game time.  Prices with Royal do vary a lot.  I mean if that $300 came with massage chairs, privet waitress/waiter, and a buffet we might be talking 🤣

There is definitely a fee. Not sure if it varies by ship or event or sailing but @Matt wrote an article about paying $350 to rent it out for 3 hours to watch a march madness game on Wonder recently.

Wow ok I might end up watching on the other TV's with everyone else 🤣.  I will check when I get on board I guess.  Maybe its different when its not a tournament or special game.

  3. At the start of Icon's sailings some of the restaurants were still an al a carte fee even with the UDP.  Last week on Matt's live he said that he believed that they had changed that to give you a stipend at some of those restaurants like they do at playmakers or Izumi.   Has anyone been on Icon recently and can clear up which restaurants allow a stipend and which are still a fee even with the UDP?

Sushi to-go sounds like a fantastic idea! We have a late excursion one night so we'll miss our 5:30pm dinner reservation so maybe sushi can be our option that night?! Does anyone know if they ever try to accommodate you on missing your dining time by an hour or so?  I would guess they wouldn't but maybe it depends on how booked the ship is?  Thanks!

If you wanted to you could switch to "My time" dining then go online and book what time you want to be seated and let the head waiter know that day that you will be back late or I would just go talk to the head waiter once on the ship the first day to let them know and I'm sure they can accommodate you.

I know we got sushi to go on Independence just by walking in and ordering it for take out. I can't say with 100% certainty that's always the case on all ships, but I like your chances.

Fantastic thank you for the hope that I can.  I didn’t see why it should be an issue but sometimes little things like that become a place where they follow the rules to the letter.

It really depends on the ship; I believe this is possible on Oasis and maybe quantum class. I think you may be able to go to the Izumi host when you first board and ask if this is a possibility.

I will just go to Izumi to book all of my dining then so I can ask while I'm there.  It would be amazing if we could get Izumi room service.  I'd probably end up full and asleep instead of full walking it off.

  7. We have 6 people in our group.  2 of us like sushi the rest don’t.  We all have the unlimited dining package.  Does anyone know if you can get sushi from Izumi to go by calling in an order or going to the restaurant to order so you can take it to the pool deck?   Asking because the last time we were on the ship Izumi was constantly booked full and we couldn’t get a seat but we want sushi.  It’s an odd request but I thought maybe someone has tried.

  8. I'm not upset at not getting the perks.  This is my first cruise to switch levels where I might get something to show it and I just didn't know how it worked.  Thank you for the information and I might stop by and see if we can get our pins but that is no big deal either.  I can wait until the next cruise no issues.  It is good to know though that you might have to let your stateroom attendant know to put the robes in your room.  Thank you everyone for the help!!

There isn't much there in the immediate area, even fast food. There's a seafood themed sports bar which is about 2 blocks away that would be a good shot at a warm meal that's open late enough for you called Catch of the Day.  They're seafood focused, so if that's not the cuisine for you and you don't want to go anywhere further out, probably ordering pizza is a good bet.

I absolutely love seafood.  The wife however does not 😆.  You can probably guess who will win with the decision of what we eat. 🤣

Without knowing the specific hotel you are staying at it is difficult to make suggestions of what is close by.

CityPlace in Doral has a lot of restaurants that would stay open later. Whether they would be available through UberEats or not, I don't know. CityPlace is about a 15 min drive from MIA, so if you wanted to go and dine in, it wouldn't be a bad Uber/Lyft ride there and back.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Miami Airport  Just to the south east corner of the airport.

We usually stay at hotels close to the airport, and when we've gotten in late, we get pizza delivered to the room.......although back in January, with all the flight delays, we got to the hotel really, really late, and were thankful we've started bringing snack foods with us for times like that.

We usually bring snacks.  I am hoping our flights are on time but in this crazy world we don't know anymore.  Might just have to eat in an airport on our layover just in case.
