  1. We always enjoy the various tastings (wine, champagne, whisky, etc) that are offered. The sommaliers are always knowlegable and entertaining. As I recall they run $22-$40 per person, depending on they type.
  2. Welcome to the boards! We have some excursions listed now for our March 25 cruise on Enchantment, but they're fairly recent additions. Just keep checking and I bet some will trickle in. Royal has been working to find new excursion vendors as the travel industry ramps up again -- a lot of them went out of business during the pandemic.
  3. Welcome to the boards! I my opinion, not worth your time. While you may be able to plug it in, don't count on Serenade's internet to be perfect as you travel north. She's an older ship and the satellites are harder to reach. I fear you would just be frustrated.
  4. Welcome to the boards! I can't answer your question about Symphony, but I can tell you that "port side" just means left side as you face forward. Starboard = right.
  5. Welcome to the boards! Depends on the ship. Is there a particular one you're wondering about?
  6. This testing is actually provided because Barbados requires it. In order to disembark in Barbados, "guests disembarking and departing on the same day will be subject to the requirements of the intended destination" (Barbados Port Entry Protocols 2022 by Visit Barbados - Issuu). Since the US currently requires testing, passengers with a final destination of the US are not allowed to debark without a test. Conveniently, that covers their entry into the US as well. As of right now, Barbados is unique in this requirement. Royal determined quickly that offering onboard testing when they didn't have to just meant they had to cover expenses for people who tested positive. So I do not see them offering onboard testing unless Canada requires it. I am just speculating. I could be wrong, and that would be lovely for everyone since onboard testing is certainly convenient.
  7. Maybe @deep1has some suggestions?
  8. No information as of yet, but my guess is you will be responsible for your own testing. Royal is not providing tests right now to anyone but back to back cruisers. Vancouver airport has a ton of testing options currently, so you should have no problem just going to the airport and testing. Just leave yourself some extra time before your flight.
  9. Welcome to the boards! Try this thread:
  10. I use this website for that kind of information: www.cruisedeckplans.com Welcome to the boards!
  11. The only requirement for the $1.99 messaging service is that the person you are messaging also subscribes to the service. No VOOM needed.
  12. You can arrive one hour earlier than your scheduled time.
  13. The other difference is that in the suite lounge you do not need to use your Diamond drink coupons at happy hour but in the Diamond lounge you do.
  14. Bahamas does not currently require reef-safe sunscreen.
  15. I like this resource: https://savethereef.org/about-reef-save-sunscreen.html
  16. Capacity control for the venue. But it sounds like it will be going away soon, if they're not being diligent about it.
  17. In this case you would just have the responsible child logged into Voom and use whatever messaging app you like -- Messenger, WhatsApp, Signal, etc. If you normally text/SMS, that should still work as well, provided wifi calling features are enabled.
  18. The easiest way is to test at the airport. The major airports all have testing options available. I assume you will be flying out of Miami? Here is the testing information for the airport: https://news.miami-airport.com/covid-19-testing-available-daily-at-mia-starting-may-21/ It is also possible there will be testing set up at the port when you get off the ship -- most of the cruise ports have a testing vendor available currently. Whether that is still the case in October, we will see.
  19. Copenhagen airport has handy testing facility for departing passengers, with antigen test results in 15 minutes. https://www.cph.dk/en/practical/covid19/covid-19-testing-airport
  20. Interesting. The only Quantum class ship I've been on is Spectrum, which is really Quantum Ultra I guess, and should be closest to Odyssey. The traffic flow was great even though she was completely full (pre Covid). Not sure what the difference is. Guess I'll have to sail Odyssey and decide for myself! Thanks for a fun blog!
  21. Yes, I have been reimbursed for the Binax Now Ag Card tests several times. I have BCBS Basic.
  22. Welcome to the boards! The last entry on this thread has the .pdf with the choices:
  23. He can absolutely order from the adult menu. Or mix and match, if he wants.
