New cruise planner item, Premier Pass?

New cruise planner item, Premier Pass?
teddy replied to MerryLoves2Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I’d rather them just cancel everyone than honor the mistake, and jack up the baseline price of all cruises to recover their losses. I knew it was too good to be true, and I’m pretty sure most everyone else did. -

If nothing else, this added some excitement to the weekend. A change of pace from the regular subjects. -
New cruise planner item, Premier Pass?

On the cruise I just booked it for, the Key is $41.99/day. I wonder if the VIP pass is supposed to be $88.99/day. It’s nice to read that people who called in are just booking it in one name per cabin. -

Yes. This confused me as well. We are cruising with our son and his family next February on Anthem (four adults/two cabins). I just reserved it in his name and mine. We’ll see what happens as it plays out and people start getting real world experience with it. Worst case I’ll just cancel it. -
You beat me to it. Last month on Anthem, my wife and I shared a one device Voom plan. We had to each go down to the internet desk to get our respective 24 hours activated.

I had problems with there being different spellings of my last name. Each of the spellings had points under it. The total was correct, but depending on which spelling was being used, I was either Gold , Platinum, or Emerald. I received Platinum pins twice Our travel agent tried to fix it but Royal told her that I had to do it. When I called, Royal told me our travel agent had to do it. After three visits to the Loyalty Ambassador on three different ships, the points were combined under one spelling of my last name. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues since we became Diamond, but we have to double check the spelling every time we book.

I saw you mentioned the price in Euros. Be aware that repricing seems to be a North American thing. I’m not sure what, if any European countries allow it. You may face cancellation charges if you rebook at a lower price.

Have you thought about taking the bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma then a vaporetto from there to your hotel? There are directions on taking the vaporetto from Piazzale Roma to the hotel on their website. https://www.venicehotelmontecarlo.com/en/how-to-get-here/ There are a couple different buses that run from the airport to Piazzale Roma. One is a non-stop As far as getting to Ravenna, I’ve read that a lot of people have caught the shuttle from Tronchetto. We are taking the regional train down ourselves in October because we have the time and desire to do so. We are spending the night before our cruise in Ravenna.

water lovers rejoice! (the return of the 1 liter bottle)
teddy replied to asquared17's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
This thread made me go check the cruise planner for our cruise in October. For the longest time, cans of water were offered, then no water. Now 12 oz. bottles are available, so I bought some for the cruise. I prefer them to the liter bottles because I can unobtrusively slip one in each of the side pockets of my day pack when we are off the ship in ports. They’re easier to refill in the cabin sink as well. I guess the reality is that I won’t know what we’ll get until we go into our cabin for the first time….cans, small bottles, or large bottles -
I too appreciate this site and especially the community. Last fall I lurked on CC to get info on MSC before we booked a bucket list itinerary with them. Thankfully, I was able to find all the information I needed from other people’s posts rather than having to make a thread of my own….some of the replies there are incredibly rude. The anonymity of the internet has created some real….I guess I’ll call them jerks.

I learned some good info in this thread. Thank you to everyone who shared.

last minute is the way to go at the moment

Prices can be very dynamic. There are a lot of factors that can change quickly. I’m still a believer in the book early process. By early I mean as soon as the itinerary you want comes out. Personal prejudices lead me to this belief as we’ve never had a price drop in the cruises we’ve booked this way. To be fair, we have booked two cruises within six months at great rates, but we were booking Inside cabins and choices were extremely limited. -
I agree, and more power to the people who are able to pay the prices. I think it's great. We are bringing our middle son, his wife, and our two granddaughters on Anthem next February. CocoCay stuff loaded recently, and we kicked around the idea of getting a cabana until we saw the price. It's more than we paid for the two cabins, one of them for four people.
-
After seeing $3899 for a Coco Beach Club over water cabana, I suspect we'll be passing on this "excursion". If they can get that for the Beach Club, I expect this to be more than we want to pay as well.
-
Ohh..sorry for the superfluous info.
-
To access the Beach Club, you have to pay for a day pass or pay for a cabana (which includes the day pass). This can be done through the cruise planner before your cruise or at the Shore Excursion desk onboard. The Beach Club sells out, so the earlier you book, the better. If you’ve already booked the Beach Club for the day, then you make your reservation once you enter the area. Granted, I haven’t been there in over a year, so there might be an option to book a lunch seating onboard. Shore Excursions would be the place to check.

New Change no need to goto Royal up website?

We haven't had a successful bid since the restart. That was really the golden age of the Royal Up. -
Western Caribbean in September - Peak Hurricane Season?
teddy replied to hez2800's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Hurricanes are known quantities. Sailing routes can be adjusted as needed. Neither my wife nor I have any reservations about cruising during hurricane season. In fact, we were on Liberty out of Galveston in the same time frame last year. -
Transatlantic US to Barcelona need euros
teddy replied to Biaggio's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
While on the subject of credit cards.... This is probably common knowledge to most, but we are newbie international travelers (other than Canada). In preparations for our upcoming European cruise, we realized our one credit card charged 3.5% on foreign transactions. Easy enough for us to get one that doesn't, but if someone hadn't mentioned it to us, foreign transaction fees never would have been on our radar. -
Yay. Air2Sea worked out the cancellation and we’re back on track. Our current flight times are very similar to the original ones. We have an eight hour layover in Lisbon, so we plan to go play tourist for a bit thanks to advice from @FionaMG We’ve decided to spend an extra night in Venice, so now we’re at two nights pre-cruise in Venice and one in Ravenna. We’re still planning on taking the train from Venice to Ravenna. Hopefully there will be minimal changes from here forward, but we’re flexible.

Yes. We are taking our middle son and his family on a cruise in February 2024. His wife is pregnant and the due date is in June of this year. Our travel agent booked a cabin for four and put the upcoming baby as “tba” for first and last name. She said she can go back and put the name in when the baby arrives. Edit: @twangster was faster than me
