  1. We were very pleased with the connection on Anthem this week. In addition, we each used the Diamond level complementary 24 hour Voom and noticed no difference from our paid plan.
  2. We spent last week on Anthem. The specialty burgers were in the regular burgers/hot dogs/fries section. They were individually packaged and on a separate pan.
  3. Ours haven’t shown either the app or when logging in online for a long time. When we boarded Anthem last Saturday, our status was fine. It showed on our set sail passes and all the associated perks were attached to our sea passes.
  4. Congratulations!!! The happy hour munchies and coffee are really good in Anthem’s Diamond Lounge this week.
  5. My problem with getting into pissing contests is that I don’t really have a middle ground. I go from 0-100 immediately when I open my mouth. There’s no place on a cruise (or most places, truth be told) for that….plus, it can be fun to see how complete silence and a blank face makes people react when they think they’re pushing all your buttons. Besides, I don’t want to have to register here with a new login and complain about how I got kicked off a ship for being an ass.
  6. My wife told me she’s floored that I’ve kept my mouth shut. Nice visit this evening . A couple people asked how we’ve been enjoying the cruise. No awkwardness or arrogance. I can’t speak to the fancy coffee machine, but the regular coffee is great.
  7. Now I know every ship and cruise isn’t like this, but our first impression: The Diamond Lounge isn’t all that and a bag of chips. We are currently on our first cruise as Diamond. On boarding day we went in the lounge for a coffee. It was really good coffee. We went back after sail away for another cup and were approached by an old guy (a complete stranger) who asked how many cruises we had done. When we said we’re on our 11th he started telling us how many he had and asked if we belonged in there. He asked how many points they lowered Diamond level to. Normally I’m aggressive to people like that, but we laughed, acted nicely deferential, drank our coffee and walked out. After all, we know jerks exist all over the place, not just on cruise ships. We went back a couple afternoons later for a cup of coffee and he was holding court again. He saw us and started in on C&A points, and number of cruises he has that he knows is more than years I am old. This time I quietly stared at him until everyone became uncomfortable and found other places to be. This approach ended up with us being able to sit in some comfortable chairs since they were vacated after five or six minutes of complete silence. Today we went in for a cup of coffee and he asked if we were still on our 11th cruise. I’m not looking for help with dealing with idiots, I work retail and am very comfortable doing so. My reason for posting this is to remind older Diamond Plus and Pinnacle cruisers that they aren’t the future of Royal Caribbean. People like my wife and I are, along with the young families we’ve heard people in the lounge complaining about. Another reminder….no matter how much money you like to brag about spending, it costs nothing to be nice to someone else, especially people who obviously share a passion with you We’re heading back for happy hour tonight. It will be fun to see what all the regulars do when we walk in
  8. I don’t play any of my own music while onboard, but I listen to stuff I’ve downloaded while traveling to and from the ports. I’m of the age and environment where my musical tastes run a little “heavier” if you will.
  9. I deleted what I typed and defer to the three replies above me. They’re nice

    Port of Miami

It can get extremely chaotic with embarking passengers showing up while people are disembarking.
  11. I use ThinkSport spf 50. I burn easily, and it keeps me from doing so. I did some basic research and it receives good marks as far as the environment and human health. We spent the day at CocoCay yesterday, and I am just as pasty white today as I was when we walked off the ship yesterday.
  12. CocoCay for us. We like the beach day with the included amenities. We don’t do many beach days throughout the course of the year.
  13. Yes. App (and everything within) access is free using shipboard guest WiFi as is the messaging that is in the app.
  14. I don’t believe anyone here can answer that question. In addition, I believe Royal Caribbean is following the rules they have to based on the places they sail to, not making their own vaccine regulations.

  16. Some small, limited feedback…. We were there yesterday. It was our first time back since November 2021. There has been a lot of physical growth in the port itself. It was barely recognizable to us. There were four big cruise ships in port….us on Anthem, Disney Wish, and Carnival Legend and Liberty. Interestingly enough, the USS Gravely was there as well We walked off with the sole purpose of getting a small gift to bring back to the person who watches our house while we’re gone. No excursions or other plans. The immediate area was crowded but not horrible. The market area is very tight to walk in, but vendors weren’t any more pushy than some I’ve experienced in Cozumel. A simple “no thank you” was sufficient. The aroma of the port area reminded me of some third world countries I visited during my military time. We could even smell it up on the top deck when we went back to the ship. There were tourist ambassadors wandering around who seemed to be very helpful to those who asked them questions. There was an obvious security/military presence, although I’m not sure how much of that had to do with the Gravely being tied up right there.
  17. Something I think worth mentioning is that you will not be given the option to bid on every single cabin type that is above yours. It depends on the cabin type you originally booked. For example, booking an Inside on Anthem, the options we were given were Outside View, Larger Outside View, Obstructed Balcony, Ocean View Balcony, and Ocean View With larger balcony. We’ve never seen the option to bid on suites unless we’ve originally booked an Oceanview Balcony (or higher). Something else I think is worth mentioning… be aware that if your bid is accepted, you could get a cabin (in that category) anywhere on the ship. If you don’t want to be in a certain area, and will be unhappy if you’re put there, don’t bid Something something else that is important to mention…. Sometimes it’s cheaper to just upgrade than put a high bid in for the same potential upgrade
  18. This. We are very discreet about asking to use a voucher, however one time another guest heard, then saw us tip a couple bucks cash. She felt the need to tell us that the vouchers were free so there was no need to tip. I was about to say something when my wife said, “You do you and we’ll do ourselves”.
  19. We can’t figure out how to get consistent notifications.
  20. I just asked my wife what she thought and we both agreed that we would have no problems with a cabin on a lower deck. I quote, “A cruise in a lower deck cabin is still a cruise” We’re currently on Anthem in an Interior that’s way way at the back on deck 9. I would rather be in a centrally located Oceanview on 2 or 3 if I had the choice. My phone shows 3.6 miles walked on the sea day yesterday….and I didn’t have it with me after 7 pm.
  21. My wife and I are sharing a one device plan this week. There are no issues changing devices.
  22. The only thing that’s been consistent is the inconsistency.
  23. Yes. We have been trying to consistently get notifications of a new message
