  1. I like this site better too. I am following the RoyalUp thread there. Especially since reading that some people have gotten upgrades that were not what the bid email pictured. I’m still trying to decide if I should cancel my bid since seeing that.
  2. I have not cruised to Hawaii but we go to Kauai all the time. Some of the best things to do there are the movie tour (it takes you all over the island and shows where lots of movies were filmed), hike and kayak to secret falls, Wings over Kauai flight around the island (because a lot of the island can only be seen from the air), and whale watching from Dec-March.
  3. I think it all has to do with personal preference. We have a nice pool at home season passes to the water park in our city. Sitting out at the pool has 0 appeal to me. I would rather sit on our balcony and watch the ocean than in the sun at the pool. Sitting around is not why I go on vacation. I’ve already written down stuff that I want to do every day from the Royal App schedule. Some of the things I think sound fun are line dancing, family karaoke, martini tasting, family feud, scavenger hunts, whiskey seminar, towel folding, and a diff show every night.
  4. Did this only work after your cruise started? I can’t do it for my April cruise yet.
  5. I don’t know for sure but my friend just got back from a harmony cruise and brought me back a few of the kids daily planners. On it is the phone number to contact the Explorers room (ages 6-8), so it sounds like if your kids wanted to leave they would just call you. Here were the session times, I’m not sure if you have to drop them at the beginning or at any time during the session. It did say they have 1 person for 25 kids and they fill up. We’re going in April over spring break so maybe they will have 2 people then. I can’t see my daughter wanting to stay long with 2 adults and 50 kids though.
  6. I was going to ask the same questions and 3 others so I’ll add them here. 1. Do kids have to stay the entire session or can I drop my 7 year old off for just an hour or 2? 2. Do they take the kids to the pool or splash zone at all or are they in the same room the entire time? 3. Can I get all weeks kids compasses on the first day? I would like to be able to plan stuff I want to do, with when I will drop her there. Several of the activities I see in the Royal app are offered on several diff days and if I knew they were doing something fun on one of the days for kids then I could figure out which day to do my activity.
  7. She’s 7 and a great swimmer. She can go the entire length of our pool underwater the entire time. My husband and I will be with her snorkeling.
  8. We want to go on a boat and snorkel excursion in St. Thomas, there are so many to choose from. It will be my daughter’s first time snorkeling. Which excursion takes us to the best place? If you have been on any snorkel excursions there tell me what you liked or didn’t like on any?
  9. We got the key for 3 of us for our April Symphony cruise. I got it at $19.99, which is only a few dollars more pp than getting the surf and voom internet. Being able to get on earlier and the chops lunch make it worth it too. I don’t really care about dropping my carryon luggage off, it’s on wheels so it’s not a pain. One of the big perks I wanted it for was private times at the flow rider, zip line and rock wall, but have since found out my daughter isn’t tall enough to go on the flow rider or zip line so we won’t even be using those. She lives rock walls though, at least she can use that one. Vip seating and shows and not having to wait in line as long for shows is totally a perk we’ll use. If you’ve ever waited in line with a first grader with ADHD, you would understand why.
  10. I booked our cruise in April and just got our docs. I noticed I have a C&A number but my husband and daughter do not. How do I get them numbers too?
  11. I just got my cruise documents and noticed my 7 year old will not be allowed on the zip line either because she’s not 75 lbs or 52”. I’m beginning to think I should have picked a different boat than symphony, she loves zilplines and goes on them everywhere but I guess she can’t here. Had I realized that I would have picked a ship with bumper cars and ifly because she loves those too.
  12. Our cruise is April 13th on symphony.
  13. I would actually prefer to be with other people, I just hope they have kids too. My 7 year talks to everyone, but if there was another kid at the table she might talk to the kid, not every adult. Where do you see how big your table is? I don’t see it anywhere in my cruise planner.
  14. How do the tables work? We are traveling with our 7 year old daughter and have 6pm seating. Will they put us at a table with another family with kids? How many people are at a table? Do you have the same table mates every night? I know there is something where they take the kids 45 mins into dinner or but we’re not doing that since we’re taking our daughter to the shows with us after dinner.
  15. Are extension cords, that are not surge suppressors, allowed? How many plugs or USB ports are in the rooms? We have 3 in our room and we each have a tablet and phone. I usually carry a usb hub but it falls out of a lot of wall plugs so I put it on an extension cord instead.
  16. She’s 48” exactly and there is no way she’ll be 52” by April 13. She’s a little dare devil but not particularly coordinated. She would have tried twice and given up, but now it’s going to be this thing she’s mad she is not allowed to do because of her height.
  17. We are going on SYmphony April 13th, what do people wear on formal nights? Show me Picts or even take some of other people? Do kids dress up too?
  18. We’re in the same boat with the wave rider. My daughter is 48” and I finally thought she was tall enough for everything. I showed her pictures of the wave rider and people boogie boarding and she was all excited. I then read that the wave rider is 54” I think. She’s going to be so bummed.
  19. Ok, I looked up cruise ship dock runners on YouTube, I guess this is a thing, and not caused by the app. The videos are kind of funny, sorry for laughing at the misfortune of others. More than half of them you see Atlantas in the background, but it happens at other ports too. One thing I know now for sure, if I am late and miss the boat, my run will be YouTube famous with lots of hecklers and mean, but funny, comments. Lol
  20. I thought you always took your passport with you when you leave the ship, I guess not.
  21. I’m looking at the photo packages and there is one for 20 photos and one for “All the photos”. Where are these photos they are taking? I’m on a 7 day cruise in April, why would they take more than 20 photos of me? I’m most interested in photos of my 7 year old. Will they take Picts of her in the kids club thing, because I read somewhere I can’t take Picts in there?
  22. I appreciate the video. The video is a cautionary tale for us noobs.
