  1. Michelle went dark on me last week. Left her a message on Friday that I was ready to book but never heard back.
  2. I’d equate it much more in NCL to getting OBC for an “NCL gift card” for future use as it didn’t have to be tied to a date.
  3. Anytime someone wants to let me hold onto 500-1000 dollars of their money for up to four years which was when an NCL CruiseNext voucher had to be used by can send the check my way. It wasn’t tied to a particular sailing so there wasn’t the excess inventory, just income being recognized earlier rather than later. Running a company now customer lock in is something I and the board of directors would love, without having to use up a cruise next voucher NCL wouldn’t have gotten my business this year, so without it they’d have none of my families revenue.
  4. Sounds like he’s looking for more of what DCL and NCL do we’re you basically just make a placeholder to come back for a cruise at a later date. Would definitely do it on our sailing next month, but with the strict program now it doesn’t seem worth it.
  5. Interesting, because we originally had booked the Marriott Biscayne Bay but after reading bad reviews moved to the JW.
  6. Now to hope that good pricing karma comes my way. Would love to save some on our sailing next year.
  7. We’ve done the Residence Inn Miami Airport several times which we like because it’s easy to get a 1 bedroom suite and it’s a quick ride to the port. On Navigator next month we’re trying out the JW Marriott Miami which I’ll be sure to review in my live blog.
  8. I think you’ve learned your lesson, if a travel agent has to charge you a fee they’re not good enough to have lots of bookings. The only time I’ve ever paid a fee for a Travel Agent was when I was working for a company and we had to book all the travel through an agency that the company owned and it was offshore. Yeah, it was probably just a money laundering scheme from the owner.
  9. As Matt mentioned you have to have the travel agent do it. My biggest advice would be to not form it as a question “can I reprice” but to just say ”this room went down “x” dollars or added “X OBC” and you need to reprice the itinerary. My repricing conversations only took about five minutes and one was even with an agent who was brand new.
  10. Same here. Have repriced a November 2020 sailing three different times over the last six weeks without issue.
  11. Another one of our favorites is Brining a 3oz size bottle of the dish soap to keep the cups clean. After seven days of being all over the ship no water is going to do that job.
  12. We loved that room style on harmony as well. Even though there was only three of us, my daughter still always used the Pullman bed instead of the sofa bed. We were on deck 8 right behind chops. It also makes that Hallway quiet as there’s not rooms on the other side of the hallway.
  13. Airline delays such as mechanical, strike are covered by the DOT’s protections so the Airline already has to compensate you for those flights.
  14. I think when I asked a similar question you used to be able to. But yes, I would love the ability to search by say “Sky or Star Class” and certain boats and it would throw me the available dates and prices.
  15. If symphony is anything like Harmony you won’t even know you’re moving most of the time. They both have a new propulsion system that creates a cushion of bubbles in front of the ship to minimize resistance with the water. The Central Park balconies always seemed like a great compromise between an inside and a regular balcony. They also come with a great inclusion (i think it’s a free meal at Jamie’s now)
  16. Glad to know it’s not just me. At first I thought it was just mobile safari, but it’ll do it on Desktop Chrome as well.
  17. It always befuddles me when companies who’s entire revenue base is tourism and capturing guests attention and dollars fail so miserably at IT. Has anyone else had the problem where you’ll start a booking as when you click through it just kicks back to the homepage?
  18. Our struggle with the west coast is the limited ports, everything is just a slightly different port in Mexico. However if we could get all the way down the Galapagos that would be another story. I’d be all about that.
  19. That could be their experiences with Allianz on a mass scale not your individual case. We’ve booked all of our Norwegian cruises through them and have never had a problem (outside of long hold times) and them adding travel to the 2 percent executive benefit makes it even more attractive to use.
  20. Yeah. Paying a travel agent who is already getting paid sounds like a profitable double dip for them. Meanwhile for our Oasis 2020 cruise Costco is paying us 800 bucks in a Costco gift card for booking with them.
  21. We’ve been waiting with baited breath as well. Looking to do something fun for my 40th birthday which is in July of 2021. Would love to do a Panama Canal or trans (pacific or Atlantic) but that’ll mean doing it earlier or later in the year.
  22. As the job involves lots of detail and lots of writing, one of the things we were thinking about was Custom Moleskine notebooks,
  23. See if you can make the automated system explode, just respond with things that confuse the system, after all it never said integers only, so maybe try the first ten thousand digits of pi?
  24. I’ve heard others mention that you can let your genie know where you’d prefer to sit if it’s not right in the front and they’ll save those seats.
