  1. Woohoo! Our first b2b! October 31, 2023 and November 6, 2023 on Liberty.
  2. In Texas you can get a state issued ID from the DMV - looks like a driver's license but without the permission to drive. Does your son have time to get one of those if your state offers it?
  3. Our first cruise was out of Ft. Lauderdale back in 2010, and we have sailed out of Galveston every cruise thereafter. Well today we booked a B2B from Port Everglades, and we'll be able to stay a couple days either before or after. Let the planning begin! Do you have a favorite hotel or rental in FLL? We don't plan on renting a car, so something within walking distance to the beach and restaurants would be perfect. Looking for 2 bedrooms, 1 King and 2 twins/fulls/queens for the kids to sleep on - they're too old to share a bed.
  4. I'm looking at the new Caribbean sailings that came out last week and today, and I'm having a really hard time assimilating the information. I feel like I have to sort down so specifically to get all the information on a single page that I lose sight of the big picture - like to see the actual ports on an itinerary, I have to pick a sailing, but then I can't remember what other ships are sailing in that month to compare. Maybe it's just showing my age, but I want all the info layed out in list form sort of like the flyers at the Next Cruise office. This ship leaves port ABC and goes to XYZ on dates 123 then below that another ship going to the same area with the same info. Is there some site where I can see or compare differently than what's on Royal's website?
  5. We watched the videos in the shuttle on the way to the terminal from our off-site parking and got our check marks.
  6. Sorry I totally read Paradise Beach, guess Cozumel is on my mind.
  7. In Cozumel? If so, it's a 10-15 minute taxi ride ($15-20 if I remember correctly). 5 or 6 miles from the pier. They have a nice pool and beach area. Snorkeling is not great because it's a sandy beach, but there are usually some fish around their dock. You can pay to use their water inflatables, kayaks, and paddle boards. We did the inflatables once - fun, but they were really hard to get on, so be prepared for a workout. We usually just hang by the pool or beach when we go.
  8. Not working 2 weeks ago. They started the cruise with a giant Texas flag over it.
  9. Just trying to stop any trolls from coming out from under their bridges.
  10. Once they hit 13 they are charged adult prices for the cruise fare and for cruise planner purchases.
  11. I did a search here, and of course asked my BFF Google, but I didn't see anything recent. Are (well behaved) kids allowed in the Diamond Lounges like they are in the Suite Lounges?
  12. Yes. We don't use credit for anything. We pre-pay for just about everything (drink packages, excursions, any specialty dining, and gratuities). All we pay for onboard is a couple of t-shirts/mangets and maybe some bingo cards so we don't have a huge hold on our card.
  13. We were supposed to be one one of those which was of course canceled. I would love to see that as a regular offering. I'm sure a lot of regulars from Galveston would.
  14. They are posted on the cruise Compass sections of the interactive screens by all the elevators. We looked for our daughter last week on Liberty, but unfortunately failed to take any pictures. They didn't have any printed AO Compasses available - teen or younger.
  15. We've never needed it, but our cabin attendant has always asked if we need it when he introduces himself on day one. It was only offered once though. Not for both formal nights.
  16. You mentioned the Promenade cabin - have you considered the Ben and Jerry's suite on Liberty (or any of the Freedom class)? I believe you get the suite benefits even though it's a Promenade room plus free Ben and Jerry's.
  17. You can get them, but they are not included in the beverage package. You would pay regular bar prices.
  18. The only thing my 9 year old ordered from the kid's menu last week was the fruit cup appetizer - he had two every night before eating duck, lobster, salmon, or steak. He was really open to trying new things; although, no matter how many times I offered, I couldn't get hom to try the escargot.
  19. Did a random search for cruises from Galveston and the calendar stops at the October 2023 sailing like it has been. Except today, April 2024 was also lit up. Clicked on it, and it's Harmony to the usual Galveston run of Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan. Perhaps a foreshadowing of next week's release?
  20. Mine actually didn't say anything about me being negative - the result is missing and is all just generic info about "if" I am negative. This is what I had at the port and was told they couldn't accept. When I accessed the new version today it says "negative" in giant blue font in the space under the bold "your covid-19 test result" at the top of the page.
  21. We had the same issue when we sailed last week. I brought the only pages that printed, which the port agent (a lady, so not the same agent as your guy) said was just the cover sheet. She said CVS changed and started doing this about 6 weeks ago, and the port agents have been hating CVS ever since. I get why they don't accept it - looking back, I don't remember a place that specifically said my test was.negative. Instead is says something like "a negative test only means you were negative when the test was administered". Fortunately I had screen shots of the results from the results text CVS sent on my phone. I did go back into my CVS account today so I could screen shot what I had printed, and it looks like they have changed the format to something that is much more obvious. Hopefully it won't be an issue for those going forward.
