  1. I got the Buffalo crunch roll with my "spicy" margarita on boarding day...can't promise I will drop any more $ there on this cruise...maybe when I come back. It's my fave but I try to limit myself to one per cruise unless I have UDP..then it's one per day
  2. I'd just love to be able get Wonder this time around..PC is way easier for me to get to. Not gonna lie though..would probably snag Icon if they let me just on $ value principle alone
  3. Here are the picked over Crown Lounge offerings at 8pm. I'm just here for the coffee. Nothing here is compelling enough for second dinner. The deviled eggs look sad compared to the ones I had on Radiance.
  4. Yes! I noticed that on my NCL sailing..everyone was outraged! They also hide the cookies from genpop. We got a tray of them in our suite but none were ever available at the buffet.
  5. I'm going to port at Grand Turk tomorrow on Independence. I'm not sure if they could do anything bigger, though.
  6. If you visit Ketchikan later in summer you can see them run from Creek Street.
  7. Last year they excluded all of the Wonder sailings despite being over a year old..but the exclusion list wasnt added until later so the early birds were able to book Wonder before the exclusion list came out. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same for Icon. Be prepared to strike fast and call once your tier offer shows up if they don't have an exclusions list.
  8. I'm sure glad I'm flying for my next B2B out of Miami..nope nope nope to offsite parking downtown. I did it once and never again. I'm not sure what the one-way car rental cost is (I get a special state employee leisure rate) but that could be an option in the future. I use Avis and there's a location downtown with a shuttle to the port. It ends up cheaper than parking at Terminal A, though I usually skip the shuttle and take Uber for $10 to/from. Always beat the shuttle back to pick up my car and beat the counter rush that way too
  9. Even spotted a little vegan section..selections were roasted pumpkin, hush puppies, steamed rice, and barbecue bean stew. There was also a stir fry station. Definitely notice a larger overall variety between this ship and Radiance, although still no more vegetable choices than that ship had.
  10. I ventured out to the Windjammer for lunch. They have the traveling piano on this ship. I've never seen it on a Freedom class ship before! They also had a little leftover breakfast section in the Windjammer...haven't seen this before either. Breakfast was over at 11am this morning and I was there at 12:30. They have the triangle hashbrowns (which I see a rumor circulating of their eventual disappearance) and extra crispy bacon..plus waffles and gluten free scrambled eggs.
  11. On work days at sea I work in other places until my laptop battery dies..then back to the room to charge it up again. Met my bed hog for the day. Junk mail...
  12. They're reserved for people that don't want to sail Amusement Park of the Seas or who didn't do their research. Although my only other experience on Radiance was in a GS and it was a massive tub with a half glass partition if I remember correctly. The hot water on that sailing was jacked up and it would go from freezing to scalding and I would have to time it right running under the showerhead and to the other side of the tub..that was fun times.
  13. I woke up refreshed early this morning so I worked in my room for a bit. Wifi has not been an issue. Then I went up to the 14th deck for a fancy coffee and change of scenery in the Crown Lounge. They take away breakfast at 10am and put out cookies and fruit. It was the same on Radiance except Independence got their delivery of bananas (never saw one on Radiance). It looks a bit overcast out there and on my way up to 14 I saw the masses descending on the Windjammer, so I assume there was rain.
  14. Last night was a wash. After dinner I went back to the room and took a nap until 2am...oops. I woke up and got ready for bed and went to sleep. My A/C has been freezing me out too. Usually I keep it way on the cooler side but this time it has to be just over into the warmer side for me not to be shivering!
  15. I will get to it at some point. Tried it when it was all paid items and it was pretty good. Will have to see if the quality has declined since it went complimentary.
  16. The potato was served to me like this...almost feel like I need to censor it.
  17. That's what mine is this go around. I cruise much differently solo than I do with my mother..I also am a creature of habit and working a little so the days are rinse and repeat.
  18. My interior room feels smaller on this ship. And you sure miss these doors when you don't have them.
  19. I'm at a two-top tonight and the neighboring tables are no shows, so it may be a much tamer cruise socially this time around.
  20. I think she was being petty because handcuffs and I became friends and would end up hanging out. Who knows..she would come and invite herself to sit with me in the Crown Lounge for the first half of the cruise but at some point she stopped. Maybe I offended her by asking if she was going to order the fish every night? Or maybe she found this blog After all this is my lanyard...
  21. Yup..always screen shot that. I make it my lock screen on my phone..helps if I end up misplacing the phone during the cruise (which actually did happen when I had it as the lock screen!) It held up getting into the terminal today since they always look at the SeaPass before they allow you inside. I skipped a lot of folks who couldn't get theirs pulled up. Once you get to the folks with the tablets at check-in they can use room numbers to look up people..but getting in it's a fail.
  22. Apparently it's down. Everyone is having issues boarding Indy since they can't pull up their SetSail. I printed mine The app is working for me on the ship's wifi. I didn't try it before, though.
