Canada and New England Cruises
PG Cruiser replied to PG Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I’m looking for an early April 2024 sailing. I want to be on a cruise ship during the total solar eclipse on April 4, 2024 -
I haven’t paid attention to Canada and New England cruises pre-pandemic. When does the cruising season start in that region? Right now, I can only see sailings starting May 2022. Does RCG have sailings there in early April? NCL has April 7 2022.

Not liking this Delta variant surge
PG Cruiser replied to PG Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
How I wish turning off the TV and shutting out the news could put an end to all this craziness. Unfortunately, at least here in Jacksonville, our hospitals are being taken over again by COVID cases, putting elective surgeries and procedures on hold. Like I said in an earlier post, I did not get that from the news, but from real world frontliner friends who are exposed to that reality everyday. I am blessed to be able to work from home, but as a minister, it breaks my heart every time I get a request for prayer for COVID patients. I've officiated one too many funerals during this crisis. -

Not liking this Delta variant surge
PG Cruiser replied to PG Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The J&J vaccine info, I got from the news. But the info on the impact of the Delta variant I got from my frontliner friends from 4 major hospitals here in Jacksonville. COVID wings are opening up again, last summer’s COVID protocols have been reimplemented. That’s my cause for concern. I’m afraid CDC will impose stricter protocols again -
Not liking this Delta variant surge

I paid the first final payment for my October sailing today… six to go -
I’m hoping this will not disrupt sailings in the Fall & Winter season. I have 7 booked. Just heard on the news that the J&J vaccine, which I got, may not be effective against the Delta variant. Ai ai ai

I don’t know how long @Matt will archive these message boards for, but decades from now, when space flights will be as common as plane flights, someone stumble into this thread and say, “Hey, there were talking about this in 2021”
-
Yeah! Some trips are more expensive than flights
-
They were talking about how trains were initially only affordable by the rich, but eventually, mom and dad could afford train rides. Soon, maybe in the next 100 years or so, mom and dad can go on space flights. Just ask George Jetson.

Jeff Bezos is launching the first manned Blue Origin “Space” Flight today. I wonder how long it will take for these space flights to be offered as “shore” excursions from Galveston and Port Canaveral.

Passports: up to 18 weeks for new or renewal
PG Cruiser replied to Jill's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
This would be a good time to remind everyone, especially with the possibility of emergency situations arising while in foreign ports, to make sure they have their passports when they go on a cruise. -
And there go the Crystal Blocks...
PG Cruiser replied to dswallow's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
RELATED TOPIC: For those who've sailed since cruises restarted, has anyone gotten the points from the Double Points promo as expected? 2 points per passenger/night - regular staterooms (double occupancy) 4 points per solo passenger/night I don't know how points work for JS and upper suites (I'll cross the bridge when I get there) -
A Scenario I’m Afraid Of
PG Cruiser replied to PG Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I've always said since this all started, I'm not scared of the virus itself on cruises, especially now that I'm vaccinated. I got the J&J but that's another story. I'm afraid of the overreaction - by the ship authorities, the health agencies, the passengers, and the public. One wrong move and the cruise is disrupted. -
And there go the Crystal Blocks...

I’ve twisted the arm of C&A Ambassadors to give me my pin on the sailing where I got to a new level. ? -

So you get it on whatever ship you’re on when you get the required points? -
And there go the Crystal Blocks...

Pardon me, but what’s on the block? Is it the ship you’re on or is it a generic ship? -
I hope this doesn’t happen in any of my sailings… and yours https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/14/nearly-3000-confined-guests-crew-to-disembark-cruise-with-covid-case.html

It wouldn’t hurt to add a layer of protection to the other “imperfect” measures. It would also enable Royal to assure the next guests that the room was completely sanitized.

Nassau. The first visit was okay. Then I stayed on the ship for the succeeding visits, except when I was with newbie cruisers who needed a “guide” to Atlantis. EDIT: If ever I got off the ship, it was only to get some Conch Fritters by the port.
