  1. Odyssey of the Seas 2020 - November 5 Inaugural and November 9 sailing (B2B)
  2. This is what I’ve been telling my friends. There’s no way pictures can ever capture the majestic views of Alaska.
  3. That kind of confusion served me well while boarding on the Ovation. At the Seattle port, I was looking for the waiting area for Platinum members. I found it all the way at the opposite end of the port from the entrance. As I was about to find my spot, boarding for Key and Pinnacle began, I was right there at the spot where these guests would go through. I just walked towards the ship, skipped the pictures (LOL), onto the gangway, and onto the ship. This Platinum cruiser boarded ahead of the other elite cruisers. Nobody stopped me. What was I to do ... go to the back of the line??? ha ha
  4. 6+8=14, still a multiple of 7. I can't be away for 2 weekends in a row that's why I love 8-day itineraries that start on weekdays so I'm only gone for one weekend. Most 7-day itineraries are weekend to weekend.
  5. I grew up poor, so I'm used to sleeping on bamboo beds without mattresses. Whatever mattresses Royal gives me will definitely be an upgrade from that.
  6. I'm thinking this thread will do for now. I'm sure it will get others who are still on the fence to book the cruise.
  7. Do you have an estimate of how many from this thread alone are going on the Inaugural sailing?
  8. This is in an Interior room but it should give you an idea of how the pullout would look like in your stateroom. Looks like you won't be needing to climb over the pullout. ?
  9. I don't know the answer to your question, but you may want to check this out: http://deckplangenius.com/Cabin.aspx?stateroom=58077
  10. I booked Stateroom 11517 for the Inaugural sailing. On the Anthem, this room is Category 4U, Interior with Virtual Balcony. But on the Odyssey, it is Category 4V, no virtual balcony. This is my first sailing in an Interior room. I realized that in my past cruises, I've had ocean view and balcony rooms but I very rarely got on the balcony and looked out the window. My curtains were almost always closed. However, I wouldn't mind if I got an Interior Room with a Virtual Balcony by an intern's ... I mean, call agent's mistake.
  11. Your posts are making me nostalgic about Ovation. I love them. If you happen to bump into a waiter named "Jonard", please tell him "Pastor" says Hi!
  12. Yes, I booked the Odyssey trips on my own over the phone with Royal. I'm planning to move the bookings to MEI once they contact me.
  13. I don't know about the hair dryers in the room, but if you're bringing your own hair dryer, it would be a good investment for frequent travelers to get a dual voltage (110/220V) model. I'm not so sure about frequencies - 60Hz vs 50 Hz.
  14. UPDATE 1: They sent me this email almost immediately after I requested for a quote from their website. I went to my Junk folder so I hadn't seen it until this morning.
  15. So far I've seen them on the Harmony (so I'm assuming they're on all the Oasis Class ships) and on the Ovation.
  16. I'd rather have a generic card for the room's power switch. My SeaPass cards are part of my cruise memorabilia collection. I actually plan to display them in a shadow box someday. I don't even take the generic card out of the slot. The room attendant often raises it up a bit to disengage it from the switch. I just push it back in when I go into the room.
  17. It's 220V. I use this adaptor to plug in my autovolt USB charger (110-220V) https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/electrical-voltage-onboard
  18. I filled out the form on the MEI site ... let's see what happens
  19. I have been reading about the advantages of having a Travel Agent for booking cruises. I want to try it but I do not know what steps to take to do so. Is it as simple as calling them (MEI, for example) and getting them to help me? Can someone please help me? You may also want to send me a private message about this.
  20. Is there a "How to Deal with Travel Agents" tutorial somewhere on these message boards? ?
  21. Are you posting from a computer or a smartphone/tablet? On a computer, you can enter "Edit mode" for the post and double click the photo. You will have the option to resize it there.
  22. I think the footage on the promo video were from other Quantum ships. Isn't the Odyssey still under construction?
  23. On the Ovation, there is a low powered light that turns on when the main lights in the bathroom are turned off.
