  1. I don't like carrying stuff. I don't even take my drink package souvenir cup with me. That's how lazy I am. LOL But your suggestion has given me an idea. I can grab a Cruise Compass from Guest Services and leave it on the table. But that would only be a partial solution because part of the pet peeve is the waitstaff taking away my plate when I'm not done with my food yet. One time I got some soup and bread. I only left the table to grab a soup spoon. When I went back, my food was gone. (Another pet peeve of mine is forgetting to grab those soup spoons, but that is entirely my fault)
  2. I almost always cruise alone and I have developed this pet peeve when eating at the Windjammer and other similar places. When I leave the table to get some water or get something from the buffet or for whatever reason, I often go back to an empty table - eager dining crew have cleared it out. I'm planning to make some card signs saying "I'll be back, I'm not done yet". What so you think? Any other solutions you can suggest? I know in formal dining, there are things you can do with the silverware to let the waitstaff know what you want. How about at the Windjammer?
  3. The limit is 12 bottles of up to 17 ounces each.
  4. Sorry to hear that! My waiter told me that such things happen as the cruising season is coming to a close. I hated the sound of the horn as we were going through the fog, constantly reminding me of what I've missed at Endicott Arm. Time to look into another Alaskan cruise, maybe June-July. Did you go on the iFly?
  5. Update #4 I just electronically signed the documents sent to me by @StephanieH of MEI Travel. She got me a total discount of $258 for my B2B cruises from the original price I signed up for with Royal. She also got me $50 onboard credit from Special Groups rate and $25 from Agent (her) FOR EACH sailing. That's a total of $150 for onboard credit - almost covers the VOOM package for the trip. I am loving this! Thanks Stephanie!
  6. I practiced on the Harmony, days before Labadee.
  7. Same thing happened to me. I could not look down while on the platform, but as soon as the operators let go of me, it was so awesome. There was a sense of calm and tranquility that I could not describe. Like I said, the Labadee zipline experience got me into ziplining.
  8. What month are you going? I was on the Ovation early this month. It wasn't very cold, even in Alaska!
  9. Cool! I think she is a member here too. Right, @StephanieH?
  10. Is your travel planner Stephanie Hudson by any chance?
  11. I do not know the answer to your question about refunds but I hope your son gets to do the Labadee Zipline. There is a practice run on a much smaller zipline before doing the real thing. I have an extreme fear of heights but I was able to do it. Let me mention however that he might need someone he knows to do it with him. A 9-yr old might not be comfortable riding on a truck in the company of strangers. It's a bumpy ride going up that hill. EDIT: I don't do roller coasters either but for some reason, ever since I did the zipline on Labadee, ziplining has become my thing.
  12. This product has proven to be quite effective in dealing with this situation... https://www.poopourri.com/pages/how-it-works
  13. I hope so... I hate the taste of soda from the freestyle machines and the dispensers at the bars. Even in the MDR, I complained to my waiter about it on Day 1. He ended up getting me canned soda every night for the whole trip.
  14. I got in touch with MEI for the first time yesterday. My travel planner/agent is also Stephanie. I don’t know how many “Stephanies” work at MEI but I hope the Stephanie I got is as great and impressive as yours. From my initial interactions with her, it looks like it. Cheers!
  15. Update #3 My B2B bookings for the Inaugural Cruise have already been transferred to my MEI Travel Planner. She works fast! Within minutes, she got me a price lower by $116 for one of my bookings.
  16. I asked @Matt this question about mattresses on YouTube Live just now. He had the same answer, which again included broccoli. I don't think he meant to be sarcastic in an earlier reply on this topic. He is such a cool dude, I can't see any hint of meanness in him.
  17. This setup was taken from Freedom, in a Panoramic Ocean View room
  18. Have you ever stayed in a stateroom with a pull out bed? If not, this may help visualizing the setup.
  19. Update #2: I hadn't gotten a reply from MEI since Friday so I decided to follow up today. I wasn't sure if they conducted business on weekends. A travel planner promptly replied to my follow-up. We are now in touch with each other. The plan is to move the booking for the Odyssey Inaugural Sailing to them.
  20. From this reply, I could see that mattresses will not be your only problem when you sail.
  21. It's time to pull that trigger! (The figurative trigger, that is) EDIT: After re-reading your post, I realized the trigger has been pulled
  22. Odyssey of the Seas 2020 - November 5 Inaugural and November 9 sailing (B2B)
  23. This is what I’ve been telling my friends. There’s no way pictures can ever capture the majestic views of Alaska.
