  1. Yeah we are already doing that with rooms 1 and 2. This would be the 3rd room and there is no extra adult to go in this one.
  2. Thank you. I guess you have to book via phone as the website wont allow it.
  3. If you have connecting rooms, does there need to be a person over the age of 21 in both rooms? I have an 18 yo daughter who want's her own room with a friend, but can't book it unless there is someone over the age of 21. I was wondering with connecting rooms if the rules are different?
  4. All I ask is for them to delay one extra week! I mean why would they even start on the 24th April? 1st of May has a way better ring to it! New month, fresh start, return my money!
  5. I'm now on the Mardi Gras Inaugural, however will obviously not be able to leave the country to get there even if it does go ahead. I was really hoping they would cancel our sailing! Just missed it...lol. Damn.
  6. Good news on the negative result. It was kind of strange that a country with zero community transmission for quite some time would just now happen to get one on a ship. Need more accurate tests by the looks of it.
  7. Appears all international travel is banned until that date, not just cruising.
  8. There problem I see is that the pre testing is obviously no good. Now imagine a country with high case numbers, you could have multiple people positive cases on board which will inevitably lead to a larger outbreak. Then it's all bad news.
  9. Oh dear.. good they found it I guess. Not so good that it got on there in a country with very low case numbers. https://www.cruisecritic.com.au/news/5780/ https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/suspected-covid-19-case-on-royal-caribbean-cruise-to-nowhere-ship-returns-to-singapore-mid
  10. That's a good point. I guess there is potential for some off season if Alaska is a no go. P&O and Carnival have no off season so I'm guessing Royal will want to get in on the action as well instead of leaving ships laying dormant. This reminds me, pre COVID there was an unnamed RCG ship on the Sydney cruise ship schedule in the 2022 off season, I feel they were already planning to leave a ship here year round to service Perfect Day Lelepa, but who knows now.
  11. No, cruises to nowhere were actually a thing here before COVID. Ovation does quite a few, and I have seen them available on Voyager and Radiance before. We did one on Ovation (unfortunately our last cruise before it all came to an end) over a weekend in November last year, 3 nights to nowhere. It was actually quite fun.
  12. Well there is no community transmission, it's just return travellers in hotel quarantine now. And March lines up with when we are supposed to be receiving the vaccine. You can bet come March the Australian government will make the vaccine mandatory for cruising. As for the ships, I guess you leave them in Asia until its confirmed the Alaska season can go ahead? If they miss the Alaska season then that's one and half years Ovation and Radiance will have had no passengers. Just crazy!!
  13. I'm guessing Royal Caribbean had insider information on this seems they had already pulled out of the season. Still disappointing for those hoping some other lines might start up with domestic sailings. https://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/health-safety/cruise-ban-has-been-extended-by-three-months-in-australia/news-story/f7a131529355bf059cad6ad7683996d3 https://www.9news.com.au/videos/national/cruise-ship-ban-extended-in-australia/ckif9gnur00230hms46og7fh0
  14. Surprised the British Empire aren't sending their COVID patients here. I hear there are a few unused ships around at the moment.
  15. Cancelled the remainder of the Australia season though April 2021. That effectively means another 11 months of waiting seems the first Royal ship back in these waters isn't due until the start of the next season in mid October 2021. ? I wonder what they will do with Ovation, Voyager, and Radiance for the next 5 months until it's time for them to cross the Pacific.
  16. UK have approved Pfizer and will being rolling out next week. https://www.news.com.au/world/coronavirus/health/uk-to-get-covid-vaccine-next-week/news-story/8e81665c6bcf4699acc5672d4eaf3871
  17. Masks, social distancing, and following the rules is probably why they are able to cruise now and everyone else is not. It's just an extension of what they are already doing on land even though they have just 1 known case of COVID in the country.
  18. I noticed this on Ovation late last year... hull is starting to look very patchy with different shades of blue.
  19. The fate of the US (and therefore cruising) is all on the vaccine. No big ship will sail without it. A national shut down wont work anyways, too late, too many cases, would take a very long lockdown to get it under control.
  20. This is getting ugly. Had to call twice just to cancel a reservation. First time they didn't cancel it properly. Are they trying to hold money for as long as possible? lol
  21. Yeah it was showing no past or present cruises earlier today. Interestingly, I now have one showing that I have cancelled by phone, will have to call them again to make sure it's actually cancelled.
  22. Anyone know if Explorer will get a rescheduled Amp before 2022?
