  1. Worst case scenario - you're on the ship and having a great time.
  2. Pay for a chocolate chip cookie? No way. Royal Caribbean Ranger Cookies? If that's the only way to get them, heck yeah!
  3. I've evolved to finishing off the open bottle of wine instead of beer with my cold pizza.
  4. Cold stale pizza and warm stale beer - Sunday breakfast for many a college student.
  5. If they're in the water, they need a place to come back to. This is allowed. It's the "I'll put a towel here now so when I want the chair in six hours it will be there for me" folks that are the problem.
  6. By the same token, there ARE those of us who are up before dawn regularly (even if I've stayed up until 2:00 a.m. enjoying the available nightlife, rarely will I sleep late enough to miss sunrise). As much as I am disappointed with the available food offerings after 9:00 p.m., even worse is the lack of options before WJ opens in the morning. Yes, there is some food available but it's very limited just like late night. Plenty of viable food options 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Not nearly enough 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  7. The use of swim diapers is prohibited by the cruise line, including in the areas specifically designed for young children.
  8. Sounds like you need to go after AAA.
  9. If your departure from Puerto Vallarta is late, I recommend Rhythms of the Night Folklore at Las Caletas. We did this in April on a trip on another line and it is excellent. Involves a cruise across the bay, dinner, and a great show.
  10. Yet on our Holland America cruise in April, where the primary cruise demographic is the people who Royal decided didn't want those late buffets, had a reasonably diverse selection of food at the buffet from 11:00 p.m. to midnight every night. AND they published via stateroom TV what was on the "menu" for the late buffet each night. This allowed us to decide if we wanted to hit the buffet, order (included) room service, or go to the (significantly superior to Sorrento's) pizza place by the pool.
  11. Those are the same people who enjoy White Castle or Denny's at 2:00 a.m. when the bars close down.
  12. The distance the water had to travel is pretty short. Less than five miles as the crow flies from Mendenhall Lake to Fritz Cove (might be six total miles with twists and turns). The main reason the flooding was severe is the sheer volume inundating such a small expanse.
  13. Waiting to board a flight yesterday (not SWA), I came up with the solution to people doing this. A credit card is required to use a wheelchair for boarding. Your card is swiped, but not charged, for double the early boarding fee to use a wheelchair. You are handed a voucher. At the end of the flight, if you use a wheelchair to exit the plane you hand in the voucher and your card is not charged. If you do not use a wheelchair, your card is charged.
  14. It's usually close but when I was on the excursion in St. Maarten, my boat won by several boat lengths (which is not considered close) and I wasn't on Stars and Stripes. The Cozumel version was about two feet difference at the end of the race.
  15. I did this version many years ago (while my kids watched from the ship) and more recently a similar one in Cozumel with my adult sons (with vessels from the catamaran era of Americas Cup racing). Definitely a good time and a workout. FTR, my boat won both times.
  16. If you enjoyed Liberty, you should like Freedom. If you're all about the production shows, you might consider just going to New York and hitting a real Broadway production.
  17. Replying to two different mentions: The Diamond Lounge is crowded? I think the most people I've EVER encountered there at the same time is seven, including the concierge and a food service crew member. (Note: became Diamond after the institution of vouchers). Unused vouchers or used for non-alcoholic - none of mine, one or two a day of my wife's for virgin drinks or specialty coffee.
  18. Maybe make it a policy that those who wheelchair on (first) must also wheelchair off (last). Would require the crew to pay attention, but there should be a way to enforce it. Maybe the air marshal assigned to a flight could be the "muscle."
  19. AA economy fares from where I live are sometimes $300+ each way for departures that don't involve missing sunrise because you're already in the air to a connection in Charlotte.
  20. Jalapeño and pineapple is my favorite (basic) pizza combination. Would even make Sorrento's more palatable, so I'll have to give this one a try.
  21. That's my go-to drink if I'm not on a mission to make every drink on the cruise something different (which is really fun to do).
  22. Still waiting for the OP to respond to any of the advice provided.
