  1. In my opinion, and I am retired but my son and daughter are joining us, it’s either Saturday to Saturday & you have to take Friday off. Or Sunday to Sunday & you have to take Monday off. 6 days either way. I like the Monday off option.
  2. We have a JS booked on Explorer in October for 3 adults. I am toying with upgrading but the lack of additional amenities is holding me back. Our adult daughter is only 4’11” so she folds pretty small!
  3. Just an FYI, Disney no longer provides complementary transportation from the World to (or from) the airport. That ended Dec 31. I would suggest renting a car, driving to the port and dropping it off there. You can do the same for your return to the airport or book a shuttle service. Both Cortrans and Cruise Control Transportation get good reviews.
  4. I feel your pain. We don’t book anything from Florida that isn’t non-stop and, like you, on Sunday’s that’s too early or very late. Our return flight is at 8:35pm. My daughter who lives in Maitland will just have to put up with us. Taking her on a free cruise so she owes us!!
  5. Not sure Royal can place restrictions on the third party providers and with the speed with which things are changing right now, I think you have to expect very last minute changes/cancellations. Sorry, I know how disappointing this must be.
  6. EVERYWHERE has had covid cases over the last several weeks! I am like you, how I feel about going changes daily, sometimes several times a day. I’m not a doctor, I didn’t stay at a holiday inn express, I have no crystal ball. My OPINION is this increase has to do with: 1. Omicron 2. Holidays 3. Increased testing because of #2 4. Increased capacities on ships because of #2. I HOPE all of the above will subside before I have to make my decision.
  7. I am also in the mid March group. When we did an L & S from last year, I thought we were gold. Now I’m not so sure. We got a really sweet deal moving from Rhapsody to Harmony price protected and I hate to lose it. My brother (his first cruise) and hubby keep asking should we go? Wish I had stuck with the Western Caribbean itinerary instead of moving to Eastern but it’s too late to go back. Really if we spent 7 days on the ship, I’d probably be ok with it. We have a large room and a large balcony & Harmony’s a big ship. Not sure how my brother would feel though. Final payment is mid February so we will wait and decide then.
  8. About a suite GTY on Explorer? We are booked in a JS and I think we can save a couple hundred switching to a GTY. Any locations you would NOT want for a JS?
  9. Suite guests can check in an hour early (at least theoretically!) so if you want to maximize your time, arrive at 11:30.
  10. We’ve had St Maarten subbed for St John’s (how many ships can dock at one time ?!?!) & then there’s St Thomas which appears to be a crap shoot. Our plan there was helmet diving at Coral World. Looks like I need to email them concerning their cancellation policy.
  11. I think that would be 11:30-12:30. I believe it’s an hour early.
  12. Lord we made that mistake our first time in a suite too! Everything we ordered, they sent triple of!
  13. So is the take away here that it’s kinda pointless to book excursions right now? Who knows where you’ll go and when you’ll get there?
  14. Costa Maya is on the mainland. It’s not an island.
  15. Thank you, so good to hear a positive review. We are Harmonizing in March!
  16. Probably applies to travelers arriving by plane. Cruise ship rules are different.
  17. I was just down visiting my daughter in Maitland. There was an open testing site at the premium outlets near Universal noting travel testing available.
  18. Yup we were going to Cozumel on our first cruise in 18 years right around that time. Got lots of concerned calls from the family!
  19. Ours is much smaller than that! OMG that looks like the ones basketball refs wear so it fits their whistle!
  20. Yup, they sell those at our local supermarket. $5.99 for 50 masks a couple of months ago. Lucky I bought 3 boxes then as they’re over $15 a box now.
  21. I sing with a symphonic choir here in CT and we have singing masks that fit to your face but create a pocket around your mouth to allow for better sound creation and breathing.
