  1. People recording the emergency services Is all you see on UK tv nowadays! Emergency services turning up an incident and all the crowd have their mobiles out recording! Worst one is when police are talking to someone connected to an incident and the potential suspect ( not under arrest ) has mobile out filming officer talking to them.
  2. Another question would be did the emergency response crew have to show proof of vaccine and a negative test result before being able to board
  3. Same here! Check the weight of cases then put scales into 1 case for return trip.
  4. I get what you mean but to me if the food came out cold or not cooked properly i wouldn't blame the servers as thats the chefs area and its their job to ensure everything is edible, if this situation arose i would get it sorted while there! For me Its the servers in MDR asking for a 10 not the chefs so its the servers im judging! All of the others behind the scenes are irrelevant to me. Like others have mentioned i take names of those who deserve a special mention but i don't BS! im not going to say something was great when i didn't think it was. If someone needs extra training so they get a 10 without begging for it is that a bad thing?
  5. I wouldn't say it was unfair! If you don't get the service you expect or isn't up to the standard of others is it right to award a 10 just because they have informed you that anything less than a 10 could result in them not having a day off, having to retrain or possibly miss out on a promotion.
  6. RC may be happy if crew get an 8 or a 9, the pressure for a 10 could be the extra day off for crew as is mentioned by a previous poster
  7. I had this on 1st night on my 1st cruise! On 2nd it was mentioned again so informed staff that if mentioned again 1 point would be deducted for every time mentioned. For rest of the week it was never mentioned.
  8. I have read the post and TBH it doesnt make it any less appealing to me as have visited Singapore 3 times on vacation, it is a Fantastic place. The thing about Singapore is they don't mess about! Rules are rules. Chewing Gum is illegal you can be fined for having it, try spitting it out on the street and punishment could be a lot worse. They the SG government will do what is right for SG when they feel it is right not when others say it is. We should also remember in a lot of far east asian countries a high % of the population have worn masks for decades! Ok it was for different reasons but masks are not a new thing for them. As mentioned further back this thread i want to book a cruise out of SG it just has to be one that makes the 12 hr flight worthwhile. Everyone is different what one person may like or not worry about others may hate!
  9. If you divide the hours worked in a 9 month contract by 12 months in a year then yeah you may get an average 40 hrs! But on average 14hrs a day for 6 days = 84hrs a week thats not including those who finish late ( early hours of morning ) and have to get up after just getting to bed 2 or 3 hours earlier to take part in COMPULSORY safety drills while ship is docked.
  10. I did say previously roughly 1k a month. While its not a lot for some in a country like US or UK for those from India or Philippines it is a lot. Back in 2015 i visited PH for my 20th wedding anniversary, we got a small souvenir made marking our trip! It cost us 100 pesos which at the time was about £1.80, gave the women 500 peso and told her to keep the change, she couldn't thank us enough and as she pulled the shutters down she told us that was 3 days wages from us so she was away home.
  11. https://ph.indeed.com/cmp/Princess-Cruises/salaries/Server No where near 32k
  12. Not going to comment on the link because everyone knows everything you read on the Internet is 100% true However i will comment on the fact the person i know who is bar staff on cruiseship received $1000 per month for their 1st contract. I cannot say if this has inceased each time they renewed contract as i have never asked as its none of my business. But to get to the figures mentioned thats a $3000 a year increase or roughly 30% per contract
  13. Not sure why its hysterical! Maybe you could explain? Yeah European tipping culture is different to US as has been mentioned on numerous threads.
  14. Done that trip from Perth to Sg myself so i agree. Travelling from UK i would look at 3 & 4 day B2B if they were going to different ports. 7 day cruise would be enough other 7 would be spent at Clarke Quay enjoying the beer lol
  15. Being honest for people travelling from other side of the world the Jan to March 2024 schedule isn't very appealing! Only 1 five night cruise! No 7 nights and 1 nine night in Jan and another in Feb. Most cruises are 3 or 4 nights and doing a B2B to make 7 days just to visit Penang twice is a bit of waste. Was hoping to cruise out of SG in 2024 here's hoping any future releases are more appealing.
  16. They didn't complain they gave info into how it is regarding testing in Sg and actually wrote that certain parts were fun.
  17. I agree 100%!!!! I have always said what a person tips should be up to them however so many threads regarding tips ends up a who can p!$$ the furthest competition! Poster No1 i tip $1 per drink and $20 for cabin steward. Poster No2 i tip $5 per drink and tip my Cabin steward $50 Poster No 3 well i tip $10 per drink, $100 for cabin steward and i give guy cleaning pool my Platinum credit card and tell him to go have fun. When it comes to tips best just to do what you want because tbh anyone can WRITE that they do this or do that but there's no proof and those saying they tip 100s or 1000s could infact be tighter than 2 coats paint and actually not tip at all...
  18. I'm pretty sure that you pay one way or the other! If you prepay its added onto your total and paid before you cruise. If you decide not to prepay then its added onto your onboard account and you are charged at end off cruise. From my understanding and hopefully someone will correct me if im wrong but your paying the daily gratuities no matter what!
  19. Crews in Europe ( not necessarily RC ) have been able to get off ship at ports. When onshore they follow the rules of that country ( almost none ) So they can get off ship go to a cafe or bar and sit unmasked next to or at same table as ship guests for hours unmasked then return to ship and need a wear a mask to serve the same guests they just sat with in a cafe or bar. Doesn't make sense but cruiselines hands have been tied trying to keep others happy and trying to make sure they don't end up front page news for outbreaks etc. Its another step in the right direction thats all anyone can wish for.
  20. I dont think anyone has actually said it would!! What has been said is that its getting more difficult to find places to get tests done right across the world. RC or any other company could look at this problem and form a short term partnership with test supplier, have a pop up location at ports where testing could be done.
  21. Same cruise on UK site. About £100 added onto the price of an interior cabin.
  22. When away somewhere i empty my pockets everynight and put all coins in safe, on our last night i take all coins out with me and give to a charity collection or maybe some homeless person who has caught my eye! Saves taking the funny money home
  23. You could get a prepay multi currency debit card. Top up with US $ then exchange it to whatever currency you need depending where about in the world you are. No transaction fees as you are paying in correct currency
