  1. Welcome to the message boards. Few ships have them but they are great when you can get them. A small desk area with a simple stool rather than a chair. Bathrooms are nearly identical to regular cabins. Balconies are sometimes very deep. So much space for one person! Some on deck 6 can be more obstructed depending on ship. One deterrent if it matters to you would be single Crown and Anchor points. Right now there is a double points promo so if you are booking a cruise before the end of June 2021 that will sail before the end of Sept. 2022 you qualify for double points but normally studio cabins only receive single points. Youtube videos: This next one isn't a studio balcony cabin but it does show you what kind of obstruction is present for select deck 6 studio cabins.
  2. The easy ones are deck 11 and 12 forward. When the ship was first built there were no cabins on deck 11 or 12. The cabins on deck 12 forward were added before the amp. The cabins on deck 11 forward of the solarium were added during the amp. On decks 8 & 9 between the aft staircases are some new interior cabins added during the amp. There are few others here and there on their own. Personally I like deck 11 and 12 because it's very easy to the upper decks and an easy walk over to the Windjammer and the Crown area.
  3. Keep in mind some new cabins have been added to Navigator. Just prior to the amp some cabins were added then during the amp more new cabins were added. They are like staying in a brand new cabin. If it really concerns you look for some of the newer cabins. Personally I don't have an issue with any cabin on this ship but to each their own.
  4. Somethings were refreshed like carpet and upholstery covers. They did not gut the cabins or replace desks, cabiners, wardrobes, bathrooms, etc. Take a look at the pictures in this thread and judge for yourself. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/11143-navigator-mar-1-2019-9-nights-southern-caribbean/
  5. I know a lot of jokes about retired people but none of them work!
  6. Actually cruises will start 8-12 months after herd immunity is achieved. The CDC runs on an 8 - 12 month delay so they will keep cruising shutdown well after the emergency is over.
  7. This post contains some menus from around the ship including La Patisserie. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/17677-anthem-jan-5-2020-11-nights-southern-caribbean-recap/&do=findComment&comment=183160 The hours for La Patisserie appear to be 6am to 11pm for July in the UK according to the app. This is from sister ship Ovation and the cafe in the Esplanade AKA cafe Promenade.
  8. Some of us like to hear thoughts from a crew member's perspective. If you are not interested in any given thread just ignore it and move on.
  9. I asked my date to meet me at the gym but she never showed up. I guess the two of us aren't going to work out.
  10. A slice of apple pie is $3.50 in Jamaica and $3.00 in St. Thomas. These are the pie rates of the Caribbean.
  11. That was the good news, now for the bad news... Taxes are no longer included but charged extra. For example: Old dive excursions $40.99 New dive excursion $40.99 plus 12% tax = $45.90 Old: New: How about a cabana? Old: $1,699 New $1,699 plus 12% = $1,908 Old: New:
  12. Some more information on this observation. I now have two Mariner cruises booked. One is before the new UI is used and one is after the new UI is in place. Old UDP dining plan price once in the cart $87 New UDP dining plan price once in the cart $87.30 The new UI displays the gratuity as a line item charge, the old UI has a higher price but includes the gratuity. Old UI New UI So i don't think it's a matter of trying to sneak a new charge into the plan, it just breaks out the gratuity so it's very clear you have paid gratuity and don't need to leave a tip unless so inclined.
  13. Some excursions like diving in this case also show Spots Left:
  14. I've noticed something I didn't see before. It is now showing "Spots Left" for certain items like cabanas.
  15. Saved $39 on one cruise last night. Had to give up a $19 OBC. Net savings $20 on a 3 night cruise that's under $500. It wasn't there the day before, but did save similar amounts on 3 cruises earlier in the week.

  17. Did you hear about the ATM that got addicted to money? It suffered from withdrawals.
  18. Have you heard about those new corduroy pillows? They're making headlines.
  19. My dog used to chase people on a scooter. It got so bad we had to take his scooter away.
  20. The deck 17 enclave has always been an enticing reason to look at GS or OS with less favor. Staying on deck 17 was super convenient to the suite lounge and Coastal Kitchen. Now with Wonder all GS and above suites are in the suite enclave (except for the AquaTheater Suites). In China this will likely mean card access to the entire suite enclave. Only JS are on the "gen pop" decks 6-14 (except AquaTheater Suites).
  21. I think the new deck 19 is achieved by wrapping it around the stacks which may account for the logo moving off the stacks and to the side of the upper pool deck. The stacks aren't higher so the ship isn't taller, the suite area around the stacks is tapered and higher near the front of this area creating deck 19. ? Les clichés d'RV & Florin Nicolas Also noted there are no rear facing suites in this area. Only side facing suites.
  22. I think HIPAA has context related to storing and accessing healthcare data beyond actual healthcare providers. 3rd party and cloud providers for healthcare companies for example. I have to complete HIPAA training since I work around systems that may contain patient data even though I don't have an account on the system that can access any records. So long as Royal or any business doesn't store patient healthcare data merely looking at a piece of paper or an app like passport doesn't equate to storing patient data. Asking a question doesn't invoke HIPAA regulations unless you store the answer, even then there is more to it. Users on many internet forums and social media platforms are posting their vaccine status. Those platforms are NOT subject to HIPAA.
