  1. Why do seagulls fly over the sea? Because if they flew over the bay they’d be bagels.
  2. In other Celebrity restart news Galapagos cruises may be starting up soon, or details of a Galapagos restart may be coming soon.
  3. Celebrity is preparing to make an announcement about the Beyond next Thursday.
  4. Insurance requirement for St.Maarten transit guests changing if you are just doing the cruise. If you plan to stay before or after insurance might still be required.
  5. Playmakers in the SeaPlex is another big change. So great to have an indoor bar with great views to the sea and beyond.
  6. I've used it for several years without realizing it was cruisingpower.com. Back then I didn't pay attention. Never asks for a login.
  7. Meanwhile American Cruise Line is operating 6 of 13 ships now: https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/24811-american-cruise-lines-has-six-ships-back-in-service.html And has plans for full fleet sailing this spring: https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/American-Cruise-Lines-US-ocean-cruises?ct=cruise It's trick to license the ships under 200 passengers so they escape the CDC orders. One ship has been sailing since March 13 and the sky hasn't fallen. Proof again that ships can sail with protocols. ACL has taken baby steps for us with their small ships and proven it can be done. Time to step up to bigger ships.

  9. Indeed there are a number of 3D, 4D, 4C and a 5D balconies on the aft. No other Quantum class feature these. Some, like the 3D can accommodate up to 4 guests. Great snag!
  10. Here's one for @AlmondFarmer I thought about going on an all-almond diet. But that’s just nuts.
  11. My TA couldn't access CruisingPower at all earlier today. It seemed to be down for a spell. Not just the A2S portion, the entire site was down. It has since come back online apparently.
  12. I didn't see a place to discuss the differences as we learn more about Odyssey so I thought I'd start this thread. First up is an area I've been watching but haven't seen any confirmation until I noticed the latest deck plans. The Social 180 Patio for teens was first introduced in these photos several months back. As I looked at these pictures I thought to myself that looks like the Suite Sun Deck from other Quantum class ships. Then a new rendering was recently revealed. The latest deck plans along with the renderings seem to confirm the Suite Sun Deck has been replaced by the Teen Social 180 patio. What's unknown is where, or if, Odyssey will have a Suite Sun Deck. I'll miss this area since it is an area where I've taken a lot of photos from while cruising in Alaska, Hawaii and New Zealand.
  13. Can a kangaroo jump higher than a house? Of course. Houses can’t jump.
  14. @Big Dawg Ron said the same thing and we are still friends so...
  15. Here's a thought about cruising as it relates to the DeSantis EO. What if the cruise lines adopt a CDC strategy? You are not required to show proof of vaccination, but if you choose to then the following list of protocols don't apply to you. For example, the CDC allows for international travel with these "recommendations and requirements" for unvaccinated and vaccinated: Basically the CDC establishes one set of rules for unvaccinated, another set of rules for vaccinated. Why couldn't the cruise lines offer the same? Don't "require" proof of vaccination, but for anyone who does prove they are vaccinated then here are the rules for you. In this manner they don't violate the DeSantis EO and they adopt an approach the CDC should be okay with since it is the CDC's approach to international travel.
  16. I stomached my way through Like Father, Love at Sea is a bridge too far for me. Enjoy those who are Hallmark fans.
