  1. What do you call a fake noodle? An impasta.
  2. Apparently Florida's vaccination passport ban did come up in court. The judge reportedly said he'd come back "as quickly as possible".
  3. The joke about the TSA limitations on liquids is that you can bring multiple containers. Fill a number of TSA approved containers with sunscreen and distribute them amongst everyone's carry on.
  4. When I looked at Bahamasair flights in A2S it made it look like two checked bags were included. I assumed this was because of the charter flight nature. Are they not?
  5. Not true. Once dog vaccination rates have reached 80% they might consider easing back.
  6. To be clear from that post the over the water cabanas are $495. Standard ($295 per cabana) Hilltop ($395 per cabana) Over the water ($495 per cabana) Beachfront ($395 per cabana)
  7. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/11/cdcs-credibility-is-eroding-amid-conflicting-mask-guidance-ex-obama-official-says.html “I think the CDC’s credibility is eroding as quickly as the cases of coronavirus are eroding,” said Dr. Kavita Patel. “There are men and women working on the lines outside on telephone and electricity lines, and they’re still wearing masks because, in the absence of this guidance, we’re making it up,” Patel said. Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins has said her confidence in the agency is being undermined by conflicting CDC guidance. “I used to have the utmost respect for the guidance from the CDC,” Collins said during a Congressional hearing on the pandemic response Tuesday. “I always considered the CDC to be the Gold Standard. I don’t anymore.” The CDC did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment. Meanwhile, Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski has said federal mask requirements were endangering the work of fishermen. “You’re out on a boat. The winds are howling. Your mask is soggy wet,” Murkowski said during the hearing. “Tell me how anybody thinks that this is a sane and a sound policy?”
  8. According to the CDC around 1% of all noro outbreaks come from cruise ships. Ships don't even make their top noro sources list: Hmmm. I wonder if they'll round that 1% up to 10% now using their new math.
  9. They came to me ? If they didn't come to me I would have gone with it on the assumption they were fine with it. Once it was known to be a pretty costly mistake I wasn't good with taking advantage of the situation like this.
  10. There is a new promo that includes an allowance of $750 per person for airfare but it isn't combinable with other Galapagos promos. In my case a Loyalty Galapagos promo for being Elite or above is looking better. YMMV.
  11. If you are in a grand suite or above traditionally the suite concierge emails a few days before the cruise. That's an opportunity to express interest in a cabana.
  12. I've long thought someone at the CDC had a bad cruise. Maybe their lover hooked up with another guest or maybe they are one of those people who write bad reviews because they made bad assumptions. Come to think of it, making bad assumptions fits.
  13. We'll likely never know but if they did go there it would take a long time to work its way through the international process. The US routinely ventures into areas that tangle with international laws and conventions. Most countries do at some point.
  14. That doesn't give the federal government authority to implement policy applicable while a person is on the sovereign soil of another country. On the vessel or aircraft yes, not in debate. Off the vessel or aircraft, while in another country, nope.
  15. I'd love to see the Bahamian government march into the UN and absolutely trash the US government for interfering with it's sovereignty.
  16. I really don't think the CDC has authority to dictate what occurs in another country just because the destination is a private island. The ship is another matter.
  17. The judge may not grant an injunction but I do feel like the suit did cause action on the part of the CDC. I'm not sure the latest updates for vaccinated guests would have been introduced without the lawsuit. The CDC knows they were being ridiculous.
  18. If the cruise lines got together and coordinated the shoreside health provider contract there could be some economies of scale. One cruise line isn't known for playing well with others but perhaps NCL and Royal could coordinate their efforts.
  19. No masks at CocoCay. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/05/12/royal-caribbean-says-passengers-will-not-have-wear-face-masks-perfect-day-cococay
  20. The more the crew show off the ship the more it feels like her sisters but refreshed with new updates that look pretty awesome. I like this class so I am liking what I'm seeing.
