Yes to both. They didn’t accept my negative test result from the county health department. there is a table set up near the doors you would exit the facility upon return from cruise. Sign up, swab, pay, get your results. $105 for each test.

Anything you would have gone to guest services for on Deck 5 can pretty much be handled by the concierge (folio issues, reprinting keys) in addition to all the items previously mentioned

Their update specifically says eating and drinking.. but it appears smoking (in the casino) is also allowed. Our health and safety is their primary concern?

Odyssey of the Seas - What you like and don't like?
APM replied to ChuckyBost's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
So you’re saying on a 7 night cruise, the bionic bar gets repeat hits from new cruisers… because the drinks are so good? I think we agre, it’s a gimmick. I’d prefer the nightly visit to the champagne bar. -
Odyssey of the Seas - What you like and don't like?

I think the bionic bar in all the ships is a waste. Go once , maybe twice for the novelty. That’s the business model? But every tavern with a skilled and entertaining bartender/barmaid lacks them in every night. Missed the mark here Royal. And on odyssey, it’s prime real estate. -
I would be much more accepting if Royal would publish some of their own medical data. Such as “ in the last 30 days we have seen xx cases of Covid onboard, including xx% of the omicron variant. Of these, xx were breakthrough cases of fully vaccinated passengers.” They have already instituted essentially a no vax, no cruise policy. In addition to a Covid free test policy. Without showing this type of data, i personally think this is less a medical decision, and more of a let’s stay in the good side of the CDC decision.

My original post want complaining, it was meant to solicit if any others had been impacted by such vague guidance. And the documentation requirements are wholly Royal Caribbean's to determine. i did notice that in todays newest guidance they removed the restriction on “hand written” documentation.
-
After corresponding with Royal corporate and pointing out that: 1) my vaccination card is also a hand written government form Which they gladly accept as acceptable documentation, and 2) my spouse embarked harmony on Sunday with the exact same dept of health paperwork they will be refunding me the $315 for the on site tests
-
I would say it’s the context.. military background, a form filled out is not a hand written note. A hand written note is what is scribbled on a prescription pad. Their rules say it can be a printed document. If they will only accept machine generated forms, they should be clear. And to your larger point, the royal rep today said every ship is different in what they will accept.

Cruised in August on Odyssey after cruising reopened. Probed negative Covid status with a test from your he county health department and results presented on a government form with county letterhead. Followed the same protocol for a 3 day cruise leaving today. Denied entry because they considered the identical form to be a hand-written note this time around. Charged $105 times 3 loyal cruisers because their inconsistent policies. great start

Unless you are in a junior suite or above, each passenger will get 1 pt per sailing day.junior suite and above get two per night. Solo cruises can also achieve higher crown and anchor point earning rates

So, my other logistical concern is capacity. Does emed have enough zoom slots available (weekend/ holidays) to handle the growing demand? i had always thought the at hkme test would be my backup but because if the h i queens did a Jan 2 Sunday sailing, it’s quickly becoming my primary option.
-
I have cruised since the reopening and i didn’t find the testing requirements all that cumbersome, even had them done at the county health office for free. Looking for advice. I have a Jan 2 Harmony cruise coming up. With the new 48 hour requirement and a Sunday departure, that leaves Saturday New Year’s Day and Friday, the observed federal holiday to complete testing. I foresee my options being quite limited. Have the need/online test capacity been able to keep up with the demand? thanks

What happens if you are stuck on a ship due to hurricane
APM replied to CruisingSteve's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If I remember correctly, laundry was offered at a discount for the normal bag laundry deal. I thought RC handled the whole situation quite well. I had friends on Carnival at the same time, they were closer to FT Lauderdale and they stopped in to top off their gas not knowing how long they might have to evade and let whoever wanted to get off disembark and gave them some kind of refund. -
Curious…. Since DBP prices vary by ship, one can assume each ship has a DBP quota to achieve. Has anyone compared pre cruise prices to onboard prices? I have only purchased onboard once and it was $47/day plus the tip (18%). Seems they would get aggressive to reach their quota

Be careful how you read that list. I hope things will revert back if the current surge in positives continues to grow. But right now, CVS tests are free of charge if covered by insurance or federal program (no insurance). Most insurance companies do not cover “elective tests “ for travel therefore you will bear the full brunt of the cost. Read the small print

Since we are about 4 months into the program year (Apr-Jul) and we haven't been able to sail, has anyone heard of any extensions to any benefits for the current program year? I am sitting on a Grand Suite annual offer that I have to use (book-take) by March 31, 2022 and I hope that expiration is going ot get pushed. Thanks

I was scheduled on an Independence of the Seas cruise in August out of Ft Lauderdale, that got shifted to Odyssey when Independence moved to Galveston. Today, I realized my Dec 3 day cruise out of Orlando is also on Independence. Does anyone know if/when Independence is coming back to Florida? Thanks
