Lauren reacted to JLMoran in can I change my dining option
I feel you. My first ever cruise is in just 12 more days, only 9 until I get on the plane down to Florida. My family is as excited as I am but really tired of me going on about every little update I found. "Hey, I just discovered this on the boards I follow...", or "You've got to listen to this podcast episode!", are becoming phrases that evokes fear and dread in my home. Well, either that or the feeling that an intervention might be necessary.

I always recommend a margarita made with a reposado tequila. From the menus others have posted here, Sabor offers at last two options there -- the Sweet & Spicy, and the Grand(?) Margarita.

So we basically had a super low key day filled with eating, pool (for the kids), more eating, wandering, more eating, and eating again ? I have not a clue how I am going to eat dinner in an hour and a half.
    Random findings from wandering:
Wonder how long it will take them to fix this sign?

    Very cool....

My favourite piece of art on this ship:

Back from rock climbing. Hubby and kids got there at 1:30pm for a 2:00pm start. They were first in line. By 2pm when I got there the line was very long. I did not get a pic in the frenzy but the line started to the left of the wall and it was past the giraffe (not my pic...credit to google search).

You are required to wear socks. They provide the shoes and harness. No helmet for this activity.
    Beginners:

    He's done it before:

Ever wonder what happens if you lose your  seapass card?  After rock climbing hubby could not find his. He went back to rock climbing to see if he dropped it. No luck. Went to to guest services and they basically deactivate your card and WOW band and issue you a new card. Pretty easy. Then D1 found hubby's card...location? In the slot for the lights! ?

Who hasn't experienced the death grip syndrome holding a phone near or over the railing of a ship to take a picture?
I took a wrist strap from an old relic point and shoot camera that was collecting dust and I found a way of modifying a plain phone case I bought at a local discount store for $10. It's a Speck case and does a decent job protecting my phone but it didn't come with a wrist strap.

I simply drilled two holes in the corner of the case and using the strap from my old point and shoot camera I now have a wrist strap for my phone.

Now when I take a picture I can hold my phone over the railing and I am relaxed without any concerns I might drop my phone in the sea.
If you don't have access to a drill, you can loop the strap through one of the slots on the case that is used for the microphone or speaker on the bottom of the phone.

This approach isn't as strong but it works in a pinch.

If you don't have an old wrist strap you can buy them for a few bucks on Amazon.
It's amazing what a difference it makes knowing your phone is safe.  I've grown to like it so much it stays on my phone now and it does a great job when walking the dog!
Buying a cheap case and strap is a small price to pay compared to losing your phone even if you only use it when cruising.

When my husband and I went down to preorder our food, the lady told us that we had to order for all 4 of us, my daughter and her boyfriend were going to go down later to order theirs. We ordered 4 starters, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. Before I saw my daughter to tell her we ordered it, they went down and another person added their order to ours, so we had food for 6! As you cab see in the right side of the picture, the chips and salsa is more like nachos. Here a few pictures of the "bungalow lifestyle"

The bungalows on Cococay were amazing. According to the staff there, all bungalows are the same. There is no "regular' or "deluxe" division in the bungalow category at this time and they knew of no change happening. Our bungalow tickets served as our tender tickets, which by Oct, you should not have to worry about. There is a shuttle to take you to/from the bungalow area as it is a pretty decent distance from the drop-off point. When checking in, everyone in your bungalow received a "VIP" wristband, only 6 per bungalow allowed. All bungalows had a cooler w/ice and 4 large bottles of Evian water, food delivery from the food truck (food was preordered in Wonderland a few days ahead) . It is close to a restroom and a couple bars, but also a bar waiter roaming around if you wanted them. You can still walk to the main dining area and eat there if you want the BBQ food, but it is only open for a couple of hours and it was very crowded. I don't know if I can ever forget what it was like to "live the bungalow lifestyle" and go back to being a normal beach bum!

Great deal! When my husband and I went down to order the food for the 2 of us, she asked us how many of us there would be, we told her there would be 4, and that my daughter and her boyfriend would be down later to order their food, she said we had to order all at once. We were allowed to order 4 starters, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. My daughter went down later and there was a different person taking orders. He took their order and added it to ours so we got 6 of each course. It was too much food! We really liked the chips and salsa, which was more like nachos. The chicken tacos, chicken sandwich and burger were a hit too.

We pulled in to Cape Liberty at 9:35am and it was a zoo. People still waiting for rides after disembarking and a long line dropping off luggage and parking. I guess the secret is out. Check in and security were a breeze though thanks to online checkin.

I must confess, hubby and I won a cruise about 15 yrs ago, it was on the Carnival Triumph, it was my first cruise. It took until 2016 before I agreed to cruise again. That was on the Independence of the Seas, and now, I can't wait to book the next one, but I will wait until we get back because Hubby will become Platinum after this one,  I will gladly ride his coat tails out of gold.
