  1. totall agree with @twangster. obviously Royal wants to keep it under wraps. At the end of the day, the OP won't get a thing from Royal for reporting this so they certainly won't lose anything by continuing to press the issue outside of their bubble. if anything, if this "leaks" out, than it will force their hand to ensure they have proper cyber-monitoring in place for this sort of thing going forward. pictures or it didn't happen....
  2. i second Radio Margaritaville but also wanted to add in Kenny Chesney's siriusxm "no shoes radio" , The Joint (siriusxm reggae station), and also newly discovered Yacht Rock
  3. If you haven't yet done so, i would bring it to Royal's attention immediately. I can't speak for you, but i wouldn't want to have seen this type of stuff and do nothing about it and find out afterwards something horrible could have been possibly avoided.
  4. try reaching out to the blog sponsor, MEI Travel https://mei-travel.com/ they might be able to point to someone they have locally. Tons of us from here use them. they have agents all over the US. highly recommended.
  5. located in the "menu" section at the top of the blog. no photo but has a listing of the menu https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/menus/sabor-menu-harmony-of-the-seas
  6. arrive early, grab a cold adult beverage and find a seat in the promenade for some class-A touristy people watching and some food. after a bit of that, relocate up to the pool deck, grab another cold drink and more people watching. Once room opens up, drop off carry on's, back to the pool deck for another.... it's a vicious cycle but someone has to do it! ?
  7. Hi @Bbjunkie The Menus tab at the top of the blog is a great source for a lot of the menus. they vary slightly ship from ship but it's a great place to start in regards to see whats on the menu. As for pics, your best best is to either ask to see something specifically or spend some time in the live blog section of here. many of the reviews have some great food shots. hope this helps
  8. carpe diem - in the majority of ports, these "authentic" cubans will be very over priced and questionable at best unless he is aware of the subtle nuances to tell a fake from a legit. i'd be more than happy to share (offline) my overseas sources that are without question, legit Cuban cigar distributors. That being said, up until the past 10-15 years, quality of true cubans has rapidly declined as they became more readily available through mass production. I used to be a huge fan but now i've found so many more non-cuban cigars that are leaps and bounds much better than the current stock thats out in the market place unless you can find an aged box going back before the cigar "boom" period. I digress, as this is one of my passions (current stash is well over 2000+ cigars) and i could ramble on for hours. In short, when i buy them, I never buy them at port for reasons mentioned above. Majority of mine come in from Switzerland via Cuba at a near domestic cigar prices ($6 - $9 a stick) legit, better quality, properly maintained and best of all, much more reasonable priced. more than happy to share my connections and he can see for himself.
  9. Yep you got it right, Liberty. Sorry about that.
  10. looking forward to another awesome @twangster review and pics!
  11. Prices are for sailings through January '19
  12. please add LOS 4/28/19 thanks!
  13. thanks @twangster that helps with the visual i was looking for. i thought i had seen these pics before somewhere and should have known it was in one of your reviews. Much appreciated!
  14. yep thats exactly it. i got all excited about the higher OBC and totally spaced out on it being for NR bookings. sorry about that.
  15. it would be for Perfect Day but even currently, i still can't find anything that verifies the differences between the two. My 2020 cruise has Chill Island cabana's up for purchase in the planner and wanted to get one locked in but wanted to see what it was i'd actually be paying for first lol. I guess i may just purchase now to ensure i can have one and then cancel if it's not what i'm looking for.
  16. Does anyone have pictures of the Cococay cabanas and bungalows ? I've been trying to find out the difference in what they look like and keep coming across conflicting information. interested in finding out what to expect for the new "Chill Island Cabanas". Seems like what i find shows the same pics for either one. covered cabana with an L-shaped couch, couple of beach loungers next to it. anyone have pics, i'd love to see them please. thanks!
  17. my boys first cruise they were 12 and 14. we gave them firm but relaxed rules to follow such as checking in every X amount of hours. if they couldn't find us, they needed to leave a sticky note on the mirror in the room to let us know where they were at. told them the first time they missed a check-in time, they would be glued to our hip the next day. much to our surprise, they would actually find us more frequently than we had expected so our check-in windows for them got longer and longer to which they still would hunt us down sooner rather than later. The boys had a blast and have made tons of friends they still keep in contact with 2 years later. We found by easing up on them a bit, it gave them the opportunity to "adult" and they never had any issues at all during the cruise which made it MUCH more enjoyable for us also.
  18. @Matt i just priced out a 2020 cruise using new WOW sale and it looks like Royal is giving more OBC than what your post lists. i'm seeing 125 for interior and OV, 225 for balcony and 300 for suites. verbiage in your post shows 75, 125 and 200
  19. Several years back my wife and I did the Belize bus tour (our first cruise as well) and really enjoyed it. At the time it was a bus tour and rum tasting but by the looks of it they've split that excursion into a few separate tours now. That being said, we really enjoyed the tour through town. The guide on the bus was very informative keeping things interesting along with being very funny also. It was interesting to hear about the history as we rode through town. All things being said, I don't honestly know how much your kids would get out of it though. At that age, they may enjoy the shorter 1 hour Calypso train tour through town more. The fun of riding on a "train" and with it being shorter, would be apt to hold their attention better possibly.
  20. heck my parents were very frequent cruisers back in the 70's and 80's and i NEVER got to go on a cruise with them. In fact, my wife and I didn't first cruise until about 7 years ago after we got married and paid for it ourselves.. We took our two teenage boys on their first cruise a couple years back and they loved it. Our biggest issues isn't the cost necessarily but rather finding a reasonable rate to take them along when it doesnt interfere with school. Subsequently, when we first took them it was in October and i pulled them out of school. Our 7th grader at the time didnt have any issues but our Freshmen son struggled horribly (his own fault) with making up what he missed. Long and short of it all, i don't feel guilty. Parents need their alone time as well.
  21. Sounds like a possible new port in the DR. per the article, several cruise lines have shown interest ; RCCL, NCL, MSC and Virgin. Article states, once complete, will be able to handle the "largest cruise ships in the world". Hey i love the Caribbean so i'm all for a potential new port! http://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/news-headlines/costa-maya-s-parent-to-develop-new-puerto-plata-cruise-port.html @Matt if this violates any policy of the site, please feel free to remove this.
  22. also if you bring your allotted 2 bottles of wine per stateroom, it doesn't just have to be drank in your cabin or the dining room. Feel free to pour a glass and walk around at will with it.
  23. wow! surprising to Mariner on that list for 7 times over the next year. you would think after all of the hoopla of it's dry-dock revamp, they would have held back on charters for it. Certainly makes it clear that money talks,,,
  24. i grew up in Missouri and spent many many summers in the Ozarks and can certainly appreciate what you guys are currently going through. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery!
