  1. That's right it is all done by zone.
  2. I used Park Cafe exclusively for breakfast it was right around the corner from our room, had a lot of healthy stuff, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit etc, COFFEE...
  3. Just negotiate your price first, before getting in the taxi, there should be a guy standing around past the peir that acts like he is in charge, tell him what you need. If you work with people before hand and get a bigger group, 4-6, the price should go down.
  4. The taxi's on Cozumel are safe, I've been to Cozumel 12 times and have never had an issue. I don't know of another way to get to the beach resorts unless you take a taxi, it would be a long walk. We are not going to Mr. Sancho's, we are going to Nachicocom, what I have heard is that Mr Sanchos is more of a party atmosphere where as Nachicocom is more laid back and relaxed, both beaches are supposed to be really nice.
  5. I have that Itinerary in 2018 on Freedom, I'm trying to remember if I saw people already dressed for dinner at muster, I wasn't because I had late seating for this cruise, so I had yet to go clean up, but I assume if you are already "Ready" for dinner that you shouldn't have any issues getting to the 6:30 early seating. As long as the populous cooperates with the ship, muster should only take 15 minuets or so, cruise compass actually said to start listing for muster at 5:15.
  6. I was on the one that went to Aruba and Curacao, so we only had 4 stops, we boarded at normal time, 10:30ish, muster was at 5:45, since the sail time was late everything else seemed to happen as normal, early dinner setting etc, formal nights were 2 and 6.
  7. There will be retail shops on the ship, usually jewelry, clothing, duty free liqueur, Royal Caribbean labeled souvenirs, they will typically have sales through out the week for merchandise that does not well normally.
  8. Great comments MikeK, this is a biggy for all of us that have been cursing for a while, specking for myself, even without a watch on, you can tell when it is time to "Set Sail", this is one of my favorite things about cursing saying goodbye to the port you were just in. With that said it's kind of one of those funny but not really funny things that go with cursing, watching the "Pier racers/runners" trying to make it back to the ship before it leaves, like Mike says above, the ship will not wait for you and it is up to you to get to the next port of call, not the cruise line. Not trying to scare anyone, the cruise line does everything they can, and I'm one of those overly cautious cruisers, so if I'm on a beach get away and I know the ship leaves at 4 I will start heading back to the ship by 2, that way if the taxi or bus breaks down I should have time to make alternative plans. OK, enough of that, like everyone says, you will have a blast, just relax and have fun...
  9. This is from my cruise planner, on the web site, and yes I leave in 8 days.
  10. Get on RCCL web site and look, it should actually be in your "My cruise", "documentation required", but I'm pretty sure the passport is enough as long as your last names match. My kids are grown and the rules have changed, so please read up, all else fails call RCCL.
  11. Even if you don't drink, you have to go see Sloppy Joe's and Hogs Breath, then you can say "Been there, done that, have the t-shirt to prove it"... When we visit someplace we have never been before, we at least get off and look around, you might hate it but who knows, you might love it, when we go back to those same places a 2nd or 3rd time, then you know if you want to get off. We have been to Cozumel 12 times, but we still get off because we have favorite places we like to visit, then we get back on the ship, Fish tacos from Pancho's anyone...
  12. Don't know if I understand your question, but yes they choose the first night for you, but as soon as you get on the ship, go to one of the restaurants or MDR and find out what choice was made for you, if you don't like it, you can change it right then.
  13. Agree, do both, RCCL was running a pretty good special, 3 night dinning package, the you can add Sabor to the list.
  14. We did Harmony last year out of Barcelona, it was Harmony's 4th or 5th full cruise after leaving South Hampton, she had her problems, but all in all she is a beautiful ship, I hope Symphony is for you as well. We were going to book Symphony TA but ended up having a conflict with the dates That Western Mediterranean cruise was a 1st for us, we had done pretty much all of the Caribbean and a Panama Canal thrown in their before but never Europe, the only way my wife agreed to it was I had to fly her Business class, which I highly recommend by the way. I'm normally a 3x3 ratio of stops to sea days so that Med. cruise was itinerary intensive for us, by Saturday we were worn out, but like I have said before you can't pass up seeing the Vatican. I didn't use a TA (I know, I know) I planned it all myself and man was that hectic, but in the end it was worth it. Everything was amazing but I think our favorite was Naples and the Amalfi Coast.
  15. Is that CruiseLifeRick? Great review on the Navigator, didn't get all the way through, still trying, running out of time, I have a cruise on Liberty OTS leaving 5-28, between work and trying to get everything ready on the home front, I'm quickly running out of time. The kids are grown, but have two dogs that still need baby sitter...
  16. Forgot to add, I will be on Liberty 5-28, so if anything has changed I will try and post it.
  17. Main Dinning Room (MDR), Windjammer, Sorrento's Pizza, Cafe' Promenade are all free. Sabor, Giovanni's, Chops, Ben and Jerry's, cupcake factory, Johnny Rockets, R-Bar all include a fee. If you think you want a specialty restaurant, it's cheaper to go to RCCL's web page "My Cruise" and book them before.
  18. Kayla, I saw this yesterday and when I read your comments above I thought you might enjoy. Has nothing to do with kids, but does have to do with cruising and living your life to the fullest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QVhvu7hFH4&feature=youtu.be I originally linked to the video off of CC.
  19. Yea, I went to a resort at a local lake for a week for my honeymoon and thought I had it made, of course that was 1980... Please, again, no age comments needed.
  20. My wife hasn't said no to the world cruise yet, but I always get the eye roll...
  21. Yes, this will be very interesting to follow, I don't currently use a TA, I do all of my own booking through the web page. You guys don't start beating me up, I'm now on board with using a TA, after reading all of your post, plus my cruises are starting to get more and more complex, so I want someone else to do the planning for me.
  22. I feel the same way, I'm on call 24x7x365, the only way I can get them to leave me alone is to go on a cruise, if I go to a resort that has free WiFi, they want to know why I'm not responding to emails and such. I've still got them fooled that cruises can't do that, not cost prohibitive...lol We have a granddaughter on the way, so I will probably have to pay for at least one connection for my wife so she can keep tabs (have 4 grandson's, no granddaughters until this one gets here, so she will be spoiled).
  23. Glad to hear that, our plan is a table for 2, I booked 6:30 every night, my OCD sticking it ugly head up...
  24. You stumped me on that one, I had to Google map that, I had no idea, looks beautiful. Have you been yet? My wife is just not very adventurous, I really, really want to go to Asia (Which I forgot to mention above), I would really love to see Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, some of the Middle east, the Suez canal. But she just has no desire... I used to make fun of these old guys that I worked with because they would take separate vacations from their wives, I was like how can you leave your wife at home, they would just smile at me. Well now I've been married 37 years and I understand what they were smiling about, I may just go by myself,,, of course I may not have any personal belongings to comeback to... Has anyone on the forum been on a world cruise yet? I'm just wondering what 100+ days on one ship would be like?
  25. Lets leave age out of this please, I've been working at the same company for 27 years, longer than the new Interns are old...
