  1. My lanyard is Disney, no one says anything to me, but I'm a big guy...
  2. I've asked, it's definitely demographics, I have asked the head waiter before when I felt like I had a less than desirable table mates, at the time I was in my 40's and they sat us with 2 other couples in their 70-80's, nothing against them, they were wonderful people, but dinner conversation was very limited.
  3. Raye, yes, I called and got rates, this was more of a fact gathering mission verses getting the best price, mainly because I'm leaning more towards the 2020 date, so I won't be able to actually book it until April'ish of next year. I wished I would have thought about what Doc pointed out, would have saved me a bunch of typing... Thanks all.
  4. Makes sense, I knew you guys would know the answer.
  5. Interesting thought, I see a cruise based trivia game show on the promenade, general cruise knowledge (CC) verses specific RCCL cruise knowledge (RC Blog), who will win? Or it could be skeet shooting off the back of the ship (If they did that any more)...
  6. I couldn't decide to start a new thread our add too another thread, but decided on a new thread. It has to do with the new pricing strategy, refundable, non-refundable, etc, etc., and a lot of you may already know this, I had not seen it on RCCL web site yet so I wanted to post this information. I was researching a cruise that I want to take in either 2019 or 2020 (I know 2020 are not out yet, OCD ring a bell), so I was looking at the 2019 12 night South Pacific-Fiji cruise out of Sydney, so I picked the 3-17-19 cruise, clicked "Book now", number of cabins, number of people, type of cabin (Suite), (This is the new part), do I want refundable or non-refundable deposit? I pick refundable, because there is only $67pp difference between the two, go to the next page to select what type of suite, I'm only given the choice of Ocean View Panoramic or a Junior, well I really want a Grand or Owners, so I go back and pick non-refundable, I'm presented with Panoramic, Junior, Grand and Owners. Besides the differences of them limiting what room types you see there was also a difference of non-refundable having an instant $100 OBC, they both offered the current BOGO offer and the discounts for them looked similar, i didn't actually calculate them out, so not 100% confident that they were the same. I did use the Junior as a comparison since it was on both and the non-refundable was cheaper on the base rate by $71, the categories all looked the same they were both offering J3 and J4. I know a lot of you use TA, and so do I, I was just doing a little research and was surprised by the web page hiding room types depending on Refundable vs non-refundable. Now this is a pretty specific example and I didn't do this comparison for any other cruise destinations, IE. Caribbean, Alaska etc.. Please fill me in if I missed something...
  7. I've cruised the Eastern in March and had zero issue. I don't prefer one over the other, eastern has beautiful beaches and that lush tropical feel, Western has it perks as well, if you snorkel it has some of the best reefs in the Caribbean in the Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize, Cozumel.
  8. The Star Loft Suite I booked for January 2019, doubles in price the week after I booked mine according to Cruisefish, and it is trending up. So far, booking early for me has paid off...
  9. Welcome, glad you joined, English is my first language and my grammar is not very good either.
  10. I've used the laundry multiple times, on different cruises, usually extended stay vacations like Doc and never had any problem, I can't say that I logged in and reviewed my bill to make sure they only charged me the $30. One year I had to send in multiple pants and dress shirts and got worried because part of the order showed up one day but not everything, when I spoke to the cabin steward he said that I had a ripped hem on one pair of my pants and I had to acknowledge the rip, which I did, the pants were back the same day.
  11. I had to settle for a Star Loft on Allure in January of 2019, but received an excellent price, I never could get the 2 bedroom Aqua theater for 2 people. Not lucky like Raye.
  12. In June of this year, we were on Liberty and had to stand outside on deck 4 on the running track for 20 minuets, it was still a manual process, had to show them our Sea Pass card, Oh yea and waiting on the people who thought it didn't pertain to them. Better safe than sorry...
  13. I've done this excursion and agree, great for first time visits to aruba. Done this one as well, get to see the light house if I'm not mistaken. Last time, we just took a taxi down to Palm beach, had lunch at a restaurant and laid on the beach, it was really hot so we didn't stay long, but it was still really fun, we love Aruba, going back next year...
  14. I've been on 3 Oasis class ships and my muster has always been inside at one of the venues.
  15. Could be, we only ate in the MDR 3 times on MTD, so they but us in a different area of the room everytime.
  16. On Liberty this summer on MTD, there was a table of 12, and it was right in the middle on the bottom level (Appeared to be 1 large family), but it seemed like foot traffic was minimal, everyone that was coming in from the main door either turned left or right to their area of the dinning room. As far as live music, the normal lately seems to be no music, I have seen it in the past but don't remember the reasoning behind it, seemed like it was on formal night. My last 3-4 cruises I have had at least 3 nights eating in specialty dinning, so there is the possibility that live music might have been played on one of those nights.
  17. Uploading a picture was part of the Oasis class ship check in, at least for Harmony it was.
  18. Sorry, didn't think about that, probably is not an International toll free number and that is the only number I have for them.
  19. I take a Yeti for the pool, most of the bars by the pool have a cold water container that I refill from, but the ships not like you getting anything close to the dispensers, so i use their little plastic cups, fill them up and dump in to my Yeti, that they seem to tolerate, even the Windjammer will let you get away with that, I have a different brand with a screw on lid that I take for the islands,
  20. It's not a link you sign up through, if you have cruised on RC and gambled in the Casino, you are probably a member. I was and didn't know it, just by using my Sea Pass card at the tables and in the slot machines. If you know that you have gambled on a cruise and used your Sea Pass card you can call 1888-561-2234 and they can confirm if you are a member or not.
  21. WAAAYTOOO, explained it to me this way, gamble what you gamble, but make yourself visible to the Casino host, introduce yourself, make a point to talk with them every night, then towards the end of the cruise ask the host how you are doing and if you have anything available. I was on Liberty in June and did all of this, we didn't gamble much but may have cycled through $2000-3000 during the week, so not much, but when we visited with the host towards the end of the cruise we had a cruise discount certificate waiting for us, not a lot of money but at least it was something...
  22. Again, as @melski94 says, this is not FOTS, But Liberty OTS from June of this year, room JS-9258, little forward of mid-ship on Starboard side, 2 regular chairs, small table and 2 lounge chairs, chairs recline completely, I believe these are basically the same chairs that are in the Solarium on this ship.
  23. Marriott Resort and Casino, right on the beach, in the Candado area, lots of restaurants, a Walgreen's and CVS right down the street. Was around the $400 area for a corner suite, ocean view, city view is cheaper. I had Marriott point so I used them up.
  24. I didn't want to compare the MDR with some restaurant that was only in my local area (Oklahoma) so I picked two that I thought everyone would know. I love both Ruth's Chris and Outback, but I have also had very favorable experiences at the MDR and Chops. The Chops we just had on Liberty was amazing.
  25. I looked and didn't see anything specific that Royal said they were going to do, or specific time frame, some of the other members looked for holes in her schedule and it looked like late November through part of December 2017 was when no cruises were scheduled. Typically of late Royal has been touching up the paint and the carpet, adding specialty restaurants where they can and additional rooms where they can. On some of the bigger ships they have added action areas like trampolines, but this being a smaller ship I would not hazard a guess.
