  1. I missed this comment earlier. This absolutely not true. Royal Caribbean pays them a commission, nothing different price-wise on your end.
  2. Welcome to the boards, Robert!
  3. The location does not matter. They can be in Arkansas or Seattle, but the important factor is how much of a match are they for you. You want someone that will work with you, and for you, to make your life easier/simpler/better. Some people like face-to-face, but in my opinion, being able to text/email my TA is far more convenient. So what I'm saying is location shouldn't be a factor unless you really want to drop in to say hello. Most TA's dont actually work in an office anyway, so if you're going to be largely calling/emailing, it shouldn't matter where they are. BTW, this is an excellent question!
  4. I forgot you are on Adventure. System is probably not updated yet to show it. Don't sweat it, I am certain if it is not added to the site that it will be available onboard.
  5. I always use a travel agent advocate others to do so too. The reason to use a TA is because they will make your life easier. Perhaps they can save you money too, but it's about the service. I wrote a blog post about why you should use a TA: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/06/15/why-first-time-cruisers-should-use-royal-caribbean-travel-agent On Royal Caribbean Blog, we have a sponsor travel agency that we work with that you can get a no-obligation quote from. Regardless of which TA you use, contact them before booking and ask some questions so that you can get the right fit for you.
  6. They will save you money over reserving the restaurants on your own, assuming you are going to dine in three specialty restaurants. The down side to them is you cannot book all 3 before your cruise. You must wait to get onboard to actually make reservations.
  7. There are private lessons. Check your Cruise Planner for price and how to reserve it.
  8. As long as you have the SetSail pass and it's legible, that's all that matters.
  9. Always wanted to try a glass bottom boat, but waiting for kids to get a little older. Thank you for the review!
  10. Thanks for the review! Do you have any photos?
  11. All the unlimited alcohol packages work at Michael's Genuine Pub because beer is included in all three packages.
  12. Which URL are you trying to access exactly? Early 2017. Historically, RC releases its new sailings in February/March timeframe.
  13. The "hump" is the section of the ship that if you are looking at the deck plans, appear to pop out and create a hump, relative to the rest of the ship. Ranging in category from D1 through E2, these are among the largest balconies you can get and gives you an incredible amount of space for the money.
  14. You should definitely do it. For the kids, it's an opportunity to do fun things with kids their age. My kids relish their time on AO because of the great programming, and the staff is top notch and well trained. Plus, that frees you up for some time to enjoy relaxing, in the casino, at a show, etc.
  15. There are two possible advantages to pre-paying your gratuities... 1: Splitting up the total cost of your cruise, and not having the gratuities hit your SeaPass account, which means more money that you owe at the end of your cruise. 2: If RC increases the gratuity rate between when you pre-pay and your cruise, you will be "grandfathered" in under the old rate.
  16. The page appearing was a mistake
  17. US and Canada have same booking rules, so you should be good.
  18. Here is a good first-timers guide to Oasis of the Seas: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/08/12/what-first-time-cruisers-need-know-about-oasis-and-allure-of-the-seas
  19. In general, the rooms are pretty quiet. I had one bad experience with "noise bleed" while on Jewel of the Seas, but otherwise never heard a peep and I have stayed at rooms immediately near the elevators and other public spots. Of course, what is noisy to one person may not be noisy to another. If I can help it, I try to avoid rooms above or below a public space (restaurant, pool, etc).
