  1. No idea what blend, but I agree it was quite good on Anthem
  2. The usual course of action is to call the room and leave a message. If you anticipate a problem (maybe it's your child's first time, or they are just being odd that day) you can ask for a pager/phone. They are limited in supply, but they can arrange that. Parents who put kids in the nursery automatically get a pager/phone.
  3. Explorers. They do not move up until they are actually 9 years old.
  4. I agree with others that they should not refer to the internet as Voom on ships where the speeds do not clearly match the performance. It's all about expectations, and it would be akin to Chevrolet calling all of their cars Corvettes when clearly some are mini-vans.
  5. In my opinion, the answer to "Why doesn't RC sail out of _____" is almost always because they can make more money sailing out of somewhere else. There can be other mitigating reasons too, but RC has made it quite clear they are a business and are operating to make as large a profit for their shareholders as possible. RC does offer cruises year-round from Baltimore and NYC, as well as seasonally from Boston.
  6. I agree. Not my style of organizing, but I know there are lots of folks who swear by them.
  7. Not really. RC does not generally post its entertainment schedule in advance and I have never seen a reliable means of knowing which films will be available to see onboard.
  8. I suspect it has to do with how RC sells cruises. Specifically, Americans are leery of vacations longer than 7 days (as opposed to Europeans who take vacations of at least 2 weeks at a time), so cruises longer than 7 nights are a bit elusive from USA.
  9. As others stated, if you have Wi-Fi Calling enabled, then yes it will work. It is easy to enable Wi-Fi Calling from home (assuming your carrier supports it). You can turn it on at home, connect to your home Wi-Fi and try it all out. It's pretty neat and I have used it many times on RC cruises (including last week).
  10. This planning timeline should be helpful in understanding when things become available: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/02/09/the-total-royal-caribbean-cruise-planning-timeline
  11. The newer the ship, the larger and more impressive the Adventure Ocean programming and dedicated space. Specifically, the Oasis and Quantum class ships offer the largest Adventure Ocean spaces of all the ships in the fleet. Of course, Adventure Ocean is not the end all, be all of what makes for a great cruise for kids. In general, I think kids enjoy lots of pool time, a good variety of activities onboard and space dedicated to them. I've bought my kids (2 and 6 years old) on a lot of different ships and they seem to really enjoy it all. I think because your kids are a bit older, the newer ships will be up their alley.
  12. Park in the garage adjacent to the terminal. When you drive in, you will receive a ticket. Take the ticket with you and on the day you leave, there are machines on ground level to pay, which expedite exiting the garage.
  13. I think a small gift to augment your gratuity is a great idea, but I am not certain it is appropriate to tip in the form of a gift (unless it is a luxury gift that has a high value).
  14. I have no definitive date to quote, but by all accounts June should be well into (or past) Q2 2017 so, yes, I would expect it to be in effect.
  15. With Caribbean, Alaska and Symphony behind us, what is everyone looking forward to now for a release?
  16. We wait to put luggage tags on until after the flight. No need to add any risk of the bags going to the wrong place or being ripped off accidentally.
  17. The boarding times on Royal Caribbean are more of a suggestion than a requirement. Feel free to show up anytime.
  18. I have never heard that term before, so I learned something today
  19. Panoramic ocean view staterooms are found on Navigator of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas.
  20. There's been a change announced http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/03/16/royal-caribbean-shares-new-fleet-wide-room-service-menu
  21. As long as I'm not being an oppressive American, I'm okay with that.
  22. Thanks for supporting our sponsor!
  23. Here's a look at the new room service menu http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/03/16/royal-caribbean-shares-new-fleet-wide-room-service-menu
