JayBird
My wife always gets annoyed when she sees people in MDR wearing shorts. Does it bother anyone else?
Matt
First day of the forums and already a dress code question! I wouldn't wear shorts to MDR but I try not to let it bug me. It has no impact on me but then again I enjoy dressing up for dinners. hallyluhopper and trainer.stan
rekkie
We have worn shorts on the first night as our luggage generally hasn't arrived to our room. I hate to admit though I do get annoyed when I see others getting away with sloppy dress when I have gone to the effort of conforming. Otherwise Id happily wear shorts and t-shirt ;)

I do agree it's frustrating to see some people clearly not even make an effort. Welcome rekkie!
Elvis
I do agree it's frustrating to see some people clearly not even make an effort. I think if looks like they are wearing something nicer than what's found near the pool, it's good with me. There should be a difference in dress for the restaurants compared to the Windjammer or the pool bar. Nevermind the rules, I just feel like it's a courtesy to your cruise mates. Even when I see it happen, I don't let it ruin my meal. If nothing else, it gives our table something to discuss :P
Julie
I've read so much on this topic on other sites and it doesn't bother me. I dress up but I wont let others ruin my dinner
Bryce G.
The only time it bothers me is formal night. Shorts or jeans on formal night? Excuse yourself and visit the Windjammer, please. I'm not going to judge you, but the idea of formal night is what it is. There are PLENTY of other options if you choose to not participate. trainer.stan, RCL4Life and hallyluhopper
JayBird
I agree with all of you that formal night ought to be "special" enough to make an effort
RCL4Life
I would feel out of place if I saw everyone dressed up and I was wearing regular clothes

Matt
I guess the word "oblivious" suits some people? Haha. I sometimes wonder if they are ignorant and don't know any better or if they know what they're doing.
RCL4Life
I wonder why rccl doesnt do more about it
Bryce G.
I wonder why rccl doesnt do more about it It would probably be off-putting to the guilty guests. I'm sure they'd rather just turn the other cheek and have other guests be angry at the guilty rather than the cruise line. RCL4Life
Disney Cruise Line just changed their dress code to allow shorts so I'm wondering if this will cause Royal Caribbean to do the same
EHendrix
Unlike most, I don't care what you wear to dinner. It's your vacation, you paid for it, you enjoy it the way you see fit as long as you aren't offending others by doing something that isn't appropriate in public.
