PRMLVM Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 I tried to do a search, but had no luck. Do you have to reach Prime to get incentive offers for cruises? If not, at what point level do you begin to get offers showing up? I'm mainly interested in combining offers. If one person in a couple is Prime and another gambles casually, would the casual gambler get offers that could combine with the Prime person's offers for an upgrade/discount? I know this is a tough question because the cruise prices change day to day any way, but generally: at what point level do people start getting $ off/interior room offers? Quote

I know this is a tough question because the cruise prices change day to day any way, but generally: at what point level do people start getting $ off/interior room offers? It is more about how much you played in the casino on your last trip, what types of games you played, and what your average bet size is than your actual casino tier status. You do not technically have to reach prime to get casino comped cruise offers. I started receiving casino comp offers immediately after my first cruise where I only earned about 1800 points on. The casino uses a complicated, proprietary formula to determine a player's expected value, which ultimately determines what offers you see. Points are secondary, and levels like prime just give you a target to shoot for with some tangible goals, like free drinks and a free annual cruise, to keep you motivated to play. Slot players betting $2 to $3 per spin will be seen as more valuable than a blackjack player betting $10 per hand because the expected value of the slots player is higher than the table blackjack player. This is similar to how land-based casino comp programs work too. As a casual cruiser that wants to get quickly rated without having previous status, apply for a casino marker (loan) and they will start giving you offers almost instantly if they deem you as a high value player. The credit and background check will not only look at your traditional credit history, but also will check your play at other casinos that report thorough the CentralCredit system, as well as your financial status with bank and broker accounts you share with them (average balances, cashflows, etc...) to see if you have the potential for sustained play at a given bet size for a period of time. Also, be sure to introduce yourself to the casino host if you plan on doing this. How do I receive casino credit? | Royal Caribbean Cruises SplashOfWater, PRMLVM and WAAAYTOOO 2 1 Quote
Ampurp85 Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 @DoomSlayer gave good information. But also it really is some sort of crap shoot. Example my mother gambled on one cruise earning 1300pts on 4n. The money played/lost was $1500+. She gets no offers. Her friend played less than $500 over 2yrs ago and get offers every month. Full on interior, OV, and balconies. In fact she gets better offers than me or my brother who are prime. DoomSlayer, SplashOfWater, WAAAYTOOO and 1 other 1 3 Quote
AndrewOfTheSeas Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 1 became Prime (2500pts) 2 cruises ago back in July. On my last 2 cruises (both October), i earned only 6 points, barely gambled ($30) - yet a couple days ago I received offers for a free interior cabin for two sailings departing the following day, one out of Miami, one Ft. Lauderdale (both 4 nighters). Unfortunately, I am in Scotland, and getting to either was pretty impossible, let alone getting days off! I guess it depends if there is empty cabins, and likely to randomly appear and disappear within a matter of hours, so check daily!! PRMLVM 1 Quote
Kelseylovestocruise Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 I say it’s random. I play only slots betting anywhere from $1.50 -$2 a spin for about $500 out of pocket per cruise and get offers. I have never hit prime. PRMLVM 1 Quote

If you both receive an offer with the same base offer code you can combine. If your offers have the same ship and sail date you can upgrade your cabin category. For example, if your offer is for an Oceanview and your partner's is for an Interior, you should be able to upgrade to a Balcony (depending on availability). If your partner's offer doesn't include the same ship and sail date, it may have a trade-in value that you can use toward a discounted upgrade. You can do the same with the casino Instant Reward certificates you earn on the cruise too. PRMLVM 1 Quote

I ran into this with a B2B2B, where the cruises on the instant cert didn't align. I thought I could use the money off to combine with another cert earned on the next cruise because it was within 30 days. They don't allow it. I also have discovered upgrades are really dependent upon the rep. I was told by several reps it was one category up to a JS maximum. I was told only two OV combined can get a balcony, not a combination of an OV and Interior, basically that combination might get you a better OV. But it seems like there are different rules all the time. WAAAYTOOO and SplashOfWater 2 Quote

My husband and his mom combine offers often to upgrade, and they too were told the max upgrade is to a JrSuite (by several reps). We are seeing lately now that their offer codes, for the same ship and date, are off by one digit (24BBG102 vs 24BBG202, and the like). We are curious if they are going to consider these "combinable" for upgrades (haven't called in yet). I don't gamble, so my original question was to see if I "should". I'm wondering if I do a little (or have him do a little of his on my card), would I get some offers that we could use (instead of involving his mom all the time). My son (a gambler) and his GF (a nongambler) are in the same boat. So we were curious about how much/little I and his GF would need to start doing! Thank you all for your suggestions and advice.
