ElCubi Posted October 24, 2024 Report Posted October 24, 2024 Hi everyone, I’m planning to take a cruise with Royal Caribbean. One of the stops is Labadee, Haiti. My wife is Colombian and Haiti request visa for Colombian citizens. But, an agency told us that she can go without any problem because Labadee is a private zone, so with the US Visa is enough. In the customer service of Royal they are not sure if she can go or not. Do you know something about it? Thanks! Quote
tjcruisers Posted October 24, 2024 Report Posted October 24, 2024 I'd say if Haiti says you need one (looked at their website for a tourist visa), then it would be in your best interest to get one, otherwise run the risk of not being allowed on the ship. Better to be safe then sorry. Royal probably won't find out until they submit the manifest KristiZ 1 Quote
Ryan79 Posted October 24, 2024 Report Posted October 24, 2024 Probably not since it’s not like you will be able to leave the immediate secure port area. Lebadee is a private resort and not really a traditional port where you can explore the country and mingle with the locals. BUT, I would still get one just in case. All it takes is one person with a misunderstanding to ruin your day. Ampurp85 and tjcruisers 2 Quote

I would not necessarily rely on a third-party travel agent to know answers for specific and complex situational questions like this. Quote

TBH, I would not rely on Royal Caribbean to have the right answer either. These boards are full of people that have been screwed because the cruise line gave them errant information about customs and immigration concerns. KristiZ, Ryan79, tjcruisers and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Floski Posted October 26, 2024 Report Posted October 26, 2024 I don't recall ever needing it before. Quote
