Sea Squirrel Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 I made Prime this year and as I understand it, my status will carry for the next year beyond 1 Apr 2025. We have cruises scheduled for Oct and Dec 24 and I'm in no danger of leveling to signature. We have an Apr 25 and Dec 25 cruise booked. Is there any benefit to going heavy prior to point reset beyond an instant cert or would it make more sense to just go light for fun until I hit the next cycle to maintain prime? Quote

I assume you mean in no danger of leveling to “choice”? If you aren’t chasing an instant certificate or really enjoying the thrill of the casino then there is no point in going heavy unless you are close to 25,000 points and could tip the scales. billdauterive Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 Correct, you will have prime status until March 31 2026. So there isn't a status or benefits reason beyond the instant certs to go heavy unless you're close to signature. JustMeJoe and Sea Squirrel 2 Quote
DoomSlayer Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 If any of these cruises are casino comps, then there is actually an expectation that you will still play and maintain a certain level of play on the trip. I just don't know what the threshold is if you decide to just go "light and fun". From their terms and conditions: "Royal Caribbean International reserves the right to withhold any offer and/or future offers based on inactivity or a decreased level of gaming play by the Recipient or any gaming play in violation of any rules or regulations. Any Recipient who redeems a Casino Offer with no play may be removed from future offers." Casino Promotions | Royal Caribbean Cruises WAAAYTOOO and Sea Squirrel 1 1 Quote

Good call out but won't affect any existing sailings you already have booked. However it could affect future offers you receive on the website (or mail/email). I've heard (or read) somewhere that basically 200 points is their minimum expectation of play per comped cruise. I've done less than that a couple of times, but usually on the front or back end of a back to back and I didn't notice my offers really change. At the same time I cruise a lot so its also possible their level algorithm doesn't change fast enough to notice the times I've slow played or have been covered by more recent cruises with normal play. No one but royal knows for certain but I think the consensus is that offer levels are based on your daily theo from your most recent 3 sailings. So a 0 (or significantly less than your normal play) within those previous 3 should drop your daily theo quite a lot which could affect your future offers.
