LakeAlto
Hi everyone. Today is Tuesday, Feb 6, 2024. We are currently docked for the second day at Cozumel, unable to leave due to high winds. We are on the Radiance. Anybody else been on a ship that couldn’t leave? Any predictions what the day will be like when we cross the gulf and head back to Tampa? I know the weather changes daily but I’m concerned that we are in for a rocky ride……. Just looking for general comments, I guess. OCSC Mike
Not much you can do except check the weather and take precautions if you are prone to motion sickness. The captain should also be providing updates. Seems pretty windy all over the area right now (including central FL today). Hope your trip back isn't too bad. PPPJJ-GCVAB
Currently the Gulf waters are looking quite rough so best that you are staying put in Cozumel for a while! Captains know what to do to try their best to provide smooth sailings. Of course, it is not always doable and that is why we all have experienced rocky seas at one time or another. As @OCSC Mike noted…prepare yourself for motion sickness relief! OCSC Mike
PPPJJ-GCVAB
Did your Captain mention even trying to get to Costa Maya (looks like that is where you are supposed to be today!) or did he announce you will miss that port?

We are docked at Cozumel for the second day. We are skipping Costa Maya altogether. According to the captain, we will leave Cozumel at 6 Pm tonight. We have a day at sea tomorrow and arrive back to Tampa on Thursday morning. WAAAYTOOO
Last2Know
Vision is heading back to Baltimore after our final stop in St. Kitts. It’s very sporty out here and has been for the 24-30 hours. Costa Maya is exposed to the open ocean while the Cozumel port is on the opposite side of the island facing the mainland so it is definitely calmer there. Our last sailing, Costa Maya was rough but able to dock. Have been on a couple where the Captain said not a chance and we either had a sea day or we went into Cozumel early. Expecting next week's sailing to be up in the air on the Costa Maya stop.
