Check in time

I have a cruise from Galveston and my checkin time is 12PM. How strict is Royal Carribean in enforcing the appointment for checkin time?

They are starting to get more strict than they were before.  Last cruise I was on out of Galveston last October, people were being made to line up outside and they were checking times before being allowed into the terminal.

Last year they actually emailed us to arrive an hour later. If they've fixed the turn around snafu, then you're back to the scheduled checkin time, as stated.

It depends on the port and even whoever the person is doing the checking in. Some won’t care, and others have every right to turn you away and make you wait until your time

Last cruise they had multiple lines outside the terminal based on boarding time, they were checking and directing passengers to the correct line

I only sailed Galveston once, this past October, they allowed the people with the correct/earlier check-in the terminal to wait but those with later times had to wait outside. Since I had an early check-in, I can't say if they allowed those with later times any leeway. Just expect to wait in the heat if you get there early but be pleasantly surprised if they do let you in.

My last cruise I thought I had 10:30 check in time but it was actually 11:30. I didn't realize this until I looked at the boarding pass after the fact. No one checked or said anything, so I guess I got lucky on that front.

We got there early in March and had no problem, no one asked us about scheduled check in time.
