Floatingby
We are getting one days cruise fare refunded as onboard credit due to a cancelled port. Can that credit (and the $50 I already had there) be used towards the daily gratuities and/or in the casino? I've already purchased beverage package, internet and spa treatments so I don't know that there will be much to charge to my account besides the gratuities and casino. Xaa
Yeah, whatever charges to the room onboard will deduct from the OBC first. Ryan79, Floatingby and Cactus527
Montemy2419
You can also get it in cash if you don't want to spend it on the ship. While at the casino you transfer it to your account spend it or go cash out and take the cash home. If you don't want the cash directly then you can spend it anywhere on the ship as the credit will show on your account. If you haven't prepaid your gratuities it could also go towards you final bill and cover those. You can keep a track of your account on the TV in your room or on the app. Floatingby, Ryan79, PPPJJ-GCVAB and 1 other
Matt
Any onboard credit you get is a credit against your onboard spend you've already made. So if you charged beverage package, internet and spa treatments and have gratuities going there, Royal will deduct any OBC you have first and then at the end of the cruise you'll be charged the remainder balance. Thanks for this. I have prepaid the gratuities now since they were going up and already prepaid the beverage package, spa and internet. I am not traveling with kids so I don't know how much I would charge to the account. I just want to confirm, can I use the credit in the casino? If so, do I need to do anything special to do that? A crew member will help you if you can't figure it out but it's pretty simple after you do it the first time. If you want to use it for table games, I believe they charge you a small fee, so you'd want to turn it into cash at a slot machine as mentioned above then use the cash at the tables to avoid the fee. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. My casino days are behind me, I only go in there to use my free play and have cashed out OBC before. Thank you, I will keep it in my mind. I didn't know it before, I am new.
BrianB
@NicoleTuttle The credit already there ($50) is non-refundable if it came as a credit for making the booking. Use it or lose it. The credit for the missed port is refundable…meaning if you don’t use it all by the end of the cruise…whatever is left will be refunded to your original form of payment…ie; credit card. Both are combined on your account and whatever purchase you make onboard…including the casino…is deducted from that total. I don’t know if they decide what OBC gets used first…but I’ve had some combined refundable and non-refundable left over at the end of a cruise, and it was refunded to my credit card. Your mileage may vary. Welcome to cruising!
