FManke
Flying in the day before our cruise in Oct and I am looking for dinner ideas in Boston. Staying in the waterfront area, but am willing to go anywhere for a great meal. Open to all types and styles of cuisine. Thanks
RestingBird
Kelly's. I think that's it. A cool little pub pretty close to the port if I remember correctly.

We couldn't decide between that and a French place, Jacques-in-the-box!
jce2
For the best scallops I have ever had I would recommend the Union Oyster House at 41 Union St (about a block from Faneuil Hall), which claims to be the oldest in Massachusetts. Lots of other eateries around Faneuil Hall as well.
DocLC
We ate at Italian Express Pizzeria (336 Sumner Street, East Boston, MA 02128) precruise and it was very good, but you'd need to take the subway there as it's near the airport. Lauren
If you like Italian, head to the North End, lots of choices, we like Giacomo's, but it can be a long wait. If you want pastries, try Mike's or across the street at Modern Pastry. Both are great, each has it's own loyal fans, as you will see from the lines out the door. Something more casual, Boston Burger Co. Head over to Quincy Market, near Faneuil Hall, Ned Devine's Pub is good. There is also a Dick's Last Resort, Legal Seafood and Cheers. If $$ in no object, check out McCormick and Schmick's.
FManke
Thanks all for the suggestions. Currently looking at Row 34. Great reviews on both Yelp and TripAdvisor and close our hotel, Seaport Boston.
Stephanie
We ate at Union Oyster House. Very good food and a neat atmosphere. The history of the restaurant if very cool, too.

FManke
Decided to book a reservation at Row 34 in Boston. Booked 50 days out as that is the soonest they would take a reservation, and could only get 5:30 or 9:00pm. I guess it must be good!
