We are sailing on odyssey for new years this year. I see they offer a "holiday dinner" option at Giovannis and Chops for dec 31st. Will the restauarnt be closed to only serve people who purchased the holiday dinner? Or if you paid for reg chops meal for example can you dine on the holidays without the extras you get for the holiday package?

Pretty sure they only serve the holiday menu (at an increased price of course) on those nights.

You will only be able to eat at the specialty restaurants featuring the holiday meal if you paid for the [very expensive] holiday meal.  So, for anyone having a dining package, they will have to eat somewhere other than the holiday meal special restaurants.  We spent many a Christmas in Izumi even when we had the UDP !

YMMV, but being nice and cordial, we were able to bypass the special valentines dinner at chops on Mariner and use our UDP for the regular menu. We went early and asked them very nicely if it would be possible... This was later in the week after we had been several times before…

That was valentine's. It's different for Christmas and new years.
